Just watch reruns to get the fix. I already have
Also another similar kind of dark humor is on Nip/Tuck but I never seem to find it!
All the Law and Order reruns ROCK
I've been disappointed with A&E lately aside from Law and Order.  The rest of that low-life crappola is neither artistic or entertaining.
I love the Good Times reruns...sm
glad that TVLand is showing them now!
Edwards AFB landing
I live about five miles from Edwards Air Force Base and the sonic boom was quite loud and percussive.  It woke me up.  I thought someone had detonated a bomb in town.
First off, congrats on landing a job! (sm)
From what I've read, heard, and seen, ANY PLACE is a good place to start out. It is so difficult for a newbie to land the first job.

The best place to start out would be in-house so you have helpers right there, but so few hospitals have in-house MTs any more.

You will hear bad and good things about MQ, but at this point, just go into it with a positive attitude and as a way to get your foot in the door. After you get experience and if you're not happy there, at least you can put something on your resume.

BTW, I am happy with MQ in general. I love my office, so I just try and have a good attitude myself so I don't become distracted and waste time worrying about the other issues that plague them.

Again, way to go, newbie!!
landing own account
I have a friend who does transcription also who covers for me when I need time off and I do the same for her. On one account I have I call the office if I have a blank, on another one I fax the report to them with the blank and they fill in and fax back to me. Then I print the final. As long as they agree to this ahead of time there should be no problem.
A happy landing at a new job sm
I have been an employee with the company everyone talks about who just let everyone know that it is all ASR or nothing. I decided to get out and I sent a resume out on Thursday afternoon, heard back in about an hour. Had testing waved, was sent the software instructions and all kinds of well organized information for the accounts I will be doing. I installed the software, it recognized my pedal with no adjustments on my end and I started work today. It turns out my accounts are WONDERFUL. The voice files are crystal clear, the platform is a breeze...and did I mention the boss is a real peach of a gal?

SMOOTH transition with a nice, soft and very happy landing!!!!!

It means no more benefits as an employee and I can't get health insurance on my own, but I did without for 15 years before that. I'll have to be an IC, but I have two IC positions and between the two is going to be more than okay financially and with taxes. Plus, I think I am going to have more time because I am not strapped to my desk for the same shift hours week after week. It should allow me to pursue a master's degree and have a life.

I am THRILLED. I wish all of those who hurt by this last week will have an equally soft and sweet landing.
awww, me too. He was also on Dobie Gillis; used to watch reruns in my 20s. (nm)

Any newbies feel as hopeless as I do about landing their first job?

I have sent out hundreds of resumes, taken several online tests and have still not landed my first position yet.  Office positions that I applied for were given to experienced MTs.  Now I am running into problems with internet servers.  I live in the country so the only option I have for internet services are dial-up and satellite.  Satellite runs about $100 a month.  Most of the at-home positions that are available require DSL or high speed.  I live so far out that the phone company doesn't know when DSL will be available in our area.  I need a break!  Does anyone else feel the same?

RE: Any newbies feel as hopeless as I do about landing their first job?
Transcend now accepts satellite providers. This company may be an option for you if you haven't tried them yet.
Any tips on becoming an MTSO and landing first account?

How much experience does the average MTSO have when they step out on their own?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!
