MPcount question

Hi all...I am thinking about using MPcount to generate my invoices for one account I have, but I have been using it today and I keep getting different counts each time I run MPcount.  I don't understand why.  I tried counting the same group of documents 4 times and got different line counts each time, either plus 1 or minus 1 line.  In other words, I would get 811 one time, then 813 the next time, then 812, then 811 again.  What would cause that?  I don't want to use it if it's not very accurate in case any questions come up.  Thanks.

MPCount software
You might want to ask your IT department if this software will work with their program. So far, I haven't found one that works with my company's program, which is Dictaphone ExText; in fact, everything I've tried has caused problems and had to be uninstalled. If anyone knows of a program that won't interfere with ExText, I'd love to know about it.
MPCount is for free
Download MPCount at http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/5532146/7f8c2cca/sharing.html?rnd=90
Try MPCount. It's easy and free! nm

Line Count - MPCount

Hi all,

When I worked for Escribe, we used the line count system called MPCount.  It was awesome.  The other day I downloaded the program again, but cannot remember the exact steps.  I work in Word, as I did then with Escribe; I know you create a folder (in the case with Escribe, you created a folder for the month and day you were working in; e.g. 122005.  I have created a folder like this, but bringing up Documents and Settings from the drop down list I don't find the folder I created.  Does anyone use MPCount, and can anyone help me with these details.  A gentleman from the company called me, but I was really not able to follow what he was saying, when it came to creating a folder.  My work is saved in My Documents.  I see the date folders, but nothing comes up as far as that with MPCount..............HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!

I personally don't like MPCount and they way the invoices look.

Some others have said that MPCount is nice to use. I think it's free. nm

MPCount, enhanced in MPTools

Emmaus has discontinued MPCount. Though popular for nearly a decade, it was
definitely obsolete. It was originally released shortly after Windows 98 came
out.

Though highly accurate in counting, MPCount had user-interface
problems:
1. Locating your files to reflect in your invoice was difficult,
for it didn't know about the flexible path to My Documents (introduced in
Windows 2000).
2. You couldn't see the filenames of the actual files you
were selecting, and couldn't filter the files in a folder by Date
Modified.
3. You couldn't delete a client once registered.
4. You couldn't
alter the invoice number.
Furthermore, MPCount could only count MS Word
documents (*.doc, *.rtf) and text document (*.txt). If you had WordPerfect 5.1
documents, MPCount didn't know what to do with them.

MPTools, a new release, replaces the obsolete MPCount.
Besides correcting the four user-interface problems listed above, MPTools
enhances the functionality. MPTools gives you the ability to include
headers/footers in the count and to include formatting codes in the count. You
can also see the results of the multiple counting methods for a given document.
Furthermore, if you give MPTools permission to use Word's conversion filter, the
file types you count can be any file type Word can open. If MS Word can open it,
MPTools can count it. (It is not necessary for you to have MS Word, it is just
an option.)

In addition, with MPTools you can:
1. Send HIPAA-compliant e-mail with a
few clicks.
2. Unzip password protected zips to the folder you specify (and
without entering the password).
3. Print multiple files by selecting
them.

MPCount is free I think, use that, save you a lot of trouble - sm
I have to submit invoices too-- but have Sylcount built in to my WP 5.1 DOS---and use that to submit the invoice every 2 weeks. I also have Abacus I use for my other job. If you are an IC it is the norm to submit an invoice. I have only had 1 IC position where I did not have to do that.....and I had to watch them like a hawk to make sure I got paid what I was due (were always shortchanging me---which I always caught since I would double check). So it is in your favor to bill for your work. However MP count will not figure in headers or footers, so if you get to count those BUY a line counting program. I love my Abacus, counts and will make invoices too.
I use MPCount, which is free and easy to use,,,can't get more reasonable than that!
boo
FYI MPCount no longer free of charge

MPCount is now MPTools.  You get a free trial (4 or 5 uses, I think) before deciding to purchase or not.  It offers a LOT more than the previous MPCount program.  Here is the link:  http://www.mpword.com/mptools.htm

Anyone know where I can get the old MPCount software that was a free download?
I know that it is now part of MPTools or something like that and you have to pay for it, but I just want the old version.
Line counting software - Need a good program. Have used MPCount in the past, but now
cannot download the old one, as it has been replaced by some new version, which I don't like. Can anyone recommende a good line counting program. Thanks.
Invoices. Does anyone have a good invoice software program they use other than MPCount invoice?
I am looking for something professional and easy to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
