24, married 26 years now.
He was 27.  We only dated 7 months.  Although both knew what we wanted, and did not hesitate, I would recommend a longer dating period.  We went into it with the idea that divorce was not an option.  I know that everyone's situation is different.  My brother and sister are each on their fourth go around.  But people just don't think about marriage in the same way that they used to.
24, will be married 18 years on 10/3/05. nm

After being married for almost 19 years....its even better!

My husband and I have been  married for almost 19 years and our sex is better now than it ever has been and there is no downloaded porn involved.  4 times a week after being married for almost 19 years is a good thing.  But for the others remember its not the quantity but the quality that should count.

What makes you think that your love life has to fizzle just because you are married so long?????

Married almost 20 years

My first gut reaction would be NO, but it would depend on the circumstances. I think I would have a very hard time trusting him again and forget about the STDs that could be involved.  OMG.  So, I guess. I might be able to forgive him but the marriage would probably be over.

19 on wedding day, still married 16 years later.

18, will be married 26 years in 2 weeks.
I also don't recommend 18 yo's get married these days. They are JUST TOO YOUNG. MY HOW MY MIND HAS WARPED over the years.

Not a problem. I have been married 19 years and

my maiden name is on my Social Security card as my middle name, but I NEVER use my maiden name and use my middle name instead.

I've never had a problem with my taxes.

39yo female, married, 3 kids, MT for 20 years. NM

Yes - Elton John just got married to a "Man" whom he has been with for many, many years.
I don't understand why you're shocked! He has been openly "gay" for upteen years & they have lived together for said upteen years! If you knew anything about Elton John, you wouldn't be "shocked." Where have you been ??
56-years-young, married, one 29-year-old beautiful son...

Oh my.. we have a lot in common.. We got married there 5 years ago. We LOVE to eat at the Bellagio a
in March for Nascar, which we go to every year..and then normally we go in the Fall because the summers are too stinking hot. If you are familiar with Laughlin, we just bought a lot to build a house across the river in Bullhead City. We love Laughlin too..We'll be able to see the whole casino skyline from our house..Thank goodness we wont be there FT for a while though..summers get like 120 degrees there.
Don't complain! I spent years married to the coldest fish around....

Loving what you do
... is so important. I have been an MT for 20 years and MT for the last 5 years and absolutely love it. Money is important, but it isn't everything. Part of QA is helping new/inexperienced MTs learn and improve their skills and there is a lot of satisfaction in that. Of course, there will be those who do not take pride in what they do and they will eventually drop out anyway. But there are those who want to learn and appreciate and use the feedback, and they will become the great MTs. It is very rewarding to me to see them change. Of course, there are the ESL dictators and some can be horrible. That is just part of it for everyone, whether you're MT or QA. I believe the research needed for QAing has helped me grow tremendously as well. And naturally, if you enjoy the people you work with that is the icing on the cake (which I do). I believe the bottom line is to follow the desire of your heart. You can make good money in MT as well as QA, but what gives you the most fulfillment?
Loving low carb
Was on Atkins this summer and lost 35 lbs.  Very easy.  Just started back Monday cuz I regained 8 lbs since Thanksgiving.  Lost 3.5 lbs since Monday.  It makes you feel so much better, no more bloating.  Eating meat, eggs, cheese, nuts, Slim Jims, even made low carb Cream Brulee which was fantastic!!   Good luck!
Well over third decade and loving it
Read below and say let me know, well here I am and I do love my job, could retire if I wanted, never have wanted to. I feel for you in the fact you have never wanted to work but different story here. There are some people who do not wish to retire.

Loving the Line Rate...sm
Yup.. my .19 cents/line comes from the west coast.  If you have 27 years acute care experience, you can make the $$.
I am finally loving MTing again.

I was going to leave transcription because I was so dissatisified with the low pay, being treated like a number, constant account switching, sweatshop mentality, etc., etc., etc. After going through several different employers in the past few years, I have finally found a wonderful job and am enthusiastic about the field again. I feel it is not always the MT, or the profession, but some of these companies are just not ethical with their clients or employees.

I am glad I did not give up, but kept looking and finally fund the right fit.

There are some really great companies out there. I am planning on staying in this profession.

question for all you hobby loving gals
I'm making all my x-mas gifts this year, and I bought some plastic bottles and to decorate them I would like to make them look "frosted" because I just think it looks better.  I have looked high and low on how to do this, i'm making scented lotion and I could not find anything on the net.  Would you guys know how to do this?  Hope I get some answers, thanks!
This really speaks the truth! Loving your post. nm

If you are biusy working, then you aren't loving your child
like you should be either. I don't think you can judge all daycares. My daughter goes to a daycare and the only thing I can say they are guilty of is spoiling her to death. Her main sitter there has taught her to call her mama and then her first name because she loves her so much. The other has taught her to call her me-maw. They love her to death. They come to her birthday parties, they buy her gifts, no matter what time of day you pop in someone is loving on her, reading to her, playing a game with her...the things I can't do while I'm working.
Oh sure...lets get another cigar loving democrat in office again... nm

I use Clairol. Loving Care .level 1...with good results so far...
The simplest coloring agent..no peroxide..no ammonia. so is easy on the hair. My original hair was dark auburn, which turned darker with age, eliminating the red (seems to be a hereditary thing since my strawberry blonde boys are also turning dark as they get older). So, now that I am using #745 medium reddish brown color on my grey, I am getting back my auburn highlights!! Coool! It may not work forever, but, for now, since I don't want to mess with "roots" as you have to with more permanent coloring agents, it works for me! Cheap, too!! About 5 bucks does the trick, and people comment on my red highlights just like in the old days!
My extreme interest in all things medical/surgical keeps me loving it. nm

how old were you when you got married? sm
I was...18! Wow, now that seems SOOO young! Been married though, to the same man for 18 years! Just a curious question!
Married at 24.
Married for 18 years and going strong.
Married at 18, again at 34
I was married (pregnant) at 18, had two kids and divorced at 30.  Then I remarried at 34, having learned a lot about what I wanted and didn't want in a mate, and two more kids and almost 19 years later we're still going very, very strong, still making goals and achieving them.  Been working at home as an MT since our 14 year old daughter was born, and that's been absolutely crucial, as we're all homebodies.
I never said I was married,
I am only into stealing husbands.
I was 26, married 5 yrs, before I had first NEW car. nm

I used to be married to
then, got divorced (another long story unto itself), but he wouldn't "let" me do anything. He was a real dictator and was very condescending and just basically not a nice person. Of course, he wasn't like that when we were dating. Anyway, I have remarried and my husband is wonderful. He really is one of the best guys I've ever known. He loves his kids and looks forward to me going off somewhere (shopping, visiting my sister, etc.) so he can have the boys to himself; it's daddy/kids play time.

I was so used to asking my first husband's permission to do things that every now and then I slip up and ask my husband now, and he gets offended when I ask him for permission! He can't believe my first husband was that kind of person. Just had to share this with y'all. My best friend wants to clone him.
yes, married 25 yr now
With the assumptions you gave, I would -- we are all susceptible to temptation. Our marriage had a breach of trust and that was a tremendous blow. But 10 yr later, we are happier than ever. It's a slow deliberate road back to a sound relationship -- but committment is the name of the game, isn't it? I'm glad I stuck it out.
Every day since I got married.

18 here. Graduated and then married
two weeks later, still with the same man 16 years later.
why are they getting married this year (sm)

and having their "fairy tale wedding" next year?  Why not just wait and do the whole marriage thing next year, but have an engagement party this year?

I know it's probably personal but hey, you brought it up!

Been married 29 yrs, get more now than ever but I say it took me 18 yrs to train to where he knows
:O
Yep, even though she's grown and married
, he still gets it anytime he wants it. The molestation has never stopped.
