Maybe you could try writing and/or calling your congressmen from your state and tell him about your situation. The congressman will do what he can for you by writing a letter of "congressional inquiry" to the prison officials.
Many years ago I worked for two different federal gov. agencies, and whenever we received a "congressional inquiry," boy, did we have to answer with a favorable answer within 10 days' time.
It's worth a try! Good luck.
