Maybe you can try this...

In Reply to: Shorthand Users How do you deal with the space automatically put in after a shortcut (sm) - Flying Fingers

I have never found a way to do that either and I have read their manual several times.  Until someone else posts how this can be done, this is what I have substituted that might work for you in the meantime also.

Since I never need to use the backward backslash “” and it is right below the backspace button anyway, I use that instead.  I set up a shortcut to have it backspace, put in a period, and then go forward two spaces.  So in one move I am ready to begin the next sentence and don’t have to worry about QA yelling at me if I accidently put in 3 spaces between sentences or short myself on line count by only putting in 1 space between sentences.

Here is how I have it set up, if you want to just copy this into your Shorthand.

Keyword:

{@KEY BkSp}.

If you want to type it in yourself, make sure you only have 1 space after the period and nothing else, in your Text to Type box, because it will automatically insert the second space.

Hope this helps.
