I'm 38 with 3 kids and a husband. I became depressed after the birth of my 1st child. I was helped with medication and a great family/friends support. And I had a round of it again after my 3rd child was born. I was getting over Hurricane Katrina (still living in a fema trailer) and getting ready to have a baby. Fortunately, I was helped without meds, but a great family/friend support system.

You know the commercial that talks about depression and it says how it hurts. It does. I physically could not get out of bed. It affects the entire family. My son (4) would ask me, 'mommy, are you sad?'. That would start the water works and back to bed. Depression is serious. But, help is available.
