Or melenotic.  Meaning black, tarry as in feces.


Probably not melanotic as this means black pigmented as in moles or tumors.

melenic vs melanotic
I was told years ago not to use melanotic regarding "melanotic stools" and to use melenic instead.  This new company I started with (which by the way I had NO work on what was supposed to be my first full time night) has a QA person who said it's melanotic.  I looked this up again and all I could find is it refers to skin lesions and such, nothing regarding stools.  Any thoughts?
