sometimes I wonder how much varied experience some QA people have, it's like they think their company's way is the only way, and they're not willing to give people time to learn new things. Every company and every account is so different, despite what the AAMT BOS would have us believe!

We aren't supposed to have any of those monsters around here (WA) but I was bitten by one about four years ago right between my big toe and second toe.
Ended up on antibiotics for about 2 weeks and had a big hole in my foot for a couple months.
It was nasty and painful to say the least. I never work without socks on my feet anymore! :)

I sympathize with you. I had a girl who worked for me that was just like that. Is one of your employees names Linda??? (kidding of course) Can you give them less and less work so that they may be able to spend more time on the work that they are doing and maybe they will realize their mistakes if they have more time to proofread more closely? I actually gave my independent contractor less and less work until she felt she needed to go elsewhere to make more money. She is actually working for a large company locally and I know of someone in the QA Dept. She said that this girl's work is horrible. She hates to have to proofread her work. Good transcriptionists are REALLY hard to find. If you know of a way to find someone good PLEASE let me know ASAP.

Been there, done that.
Do you have things rigged so that your wrists are ABSOLUTELY flat when you type? I.e., your hand isn't cocked up at an angle in relation to the forearm? If not... you can temporarily fix it just by rolling up a towel or a washcloth and setting it in front of the keyboard, and resting the heel of your hand on it.
If you are using any kind of slide-out keyboard drawer... get rid of it IMMEDIATELY. The few times I had to use one of those, for mere moments at a co-worker's desk (trying to fix their computer, usually), I could not see how they could work with it. Of course, they weren't transcribing....
My keyboard sits on the desktop, with a beanbag wrist rest right in front of it (the beanbag fits the curve of the keyboard). And because it's a curved keyboard, not only are my wrist joints flat, they aren't cocked off to the outside either, as they are when I type on a straight keyboard.
Another trick might be to wrap the wrist in an Ace bandage, in proper position (flat and straight) so that it won't drift back into the bad position when you type. Might take some getting used to, but it can be done.
And if you are already doing all of the above... nevermind, 'cause then I don't know what to tell you. But the falling asleep sounds like you are entrapping the nerves with an unnatural hand position.
In fact... I will illustrate. I'll upload this post, and then I'll haul out the camera and see if I can get a decent shot of my hand position--the one that enables me to keep going despite some bad bouts of tendinitis in my own past.... If I can get a decent shot, I will post it in another message.
Oh, BTDT, my sympathies!
I had a supervisor, not even a national co. but a small one and she would do this. I was fuming every time I got one, thinking, if you don't put on your big girl panties and deal with this person individually, they're going to continue to think "It's not me!" Ugh!
