Well, it sounds like your unfortunate family members need to help YOU out for a change.
No offense, but family are supposed to help each other out it trying times.
I am so sorry to hear this. I also had a close call with a pack of dogs.
These dogs were a very different breed. They were a spitz type (similar in type to my sweet Siberians, but not of the peaceful pack type). The dogs look like huge Shiba Inus, but when they came at my through the tall grass, it looked like we were being hunted by a pack of hyenas. Four or five of them slipped right through a flimsy excuse for a fence and surrounded me and my two dogs. Thank goodness I was there and was able to keep a cool head to bellow at those dogs to stay back as I stood between my dogs and the pack and we backed away, back to the street. Thankfully some men had heard my initial screams and came out of their yards to meet us. It took a lot of phone calls from me and other people living nearby to force her to give up those dogs. They killed one small dog in the neighborhood and had a child cornered, too. I notice this lady replaced the dogs since with some bigger dogs. Some people don't deserve to have dogs.

I am so sorry for your loss. Do whatever is necessary to secure that fence - we had to bury chicken wire around ours to keep our escape artists in, but it's worth it.

Do get pictures of those monsters outside the owner's property. That was important where we live. You might also want to put up warning signs near the owner's property warning of her dangerous dogs, with photos. Maybe that will embarrass her. Go around and collect stories about these dogs from neighbors, and have them sign the descriptions of their experiences. Then mail those in to animal control with the pictures. If that doesn't do it, call the news station and get them to come and see for themselves.

We mingle with pit bulls at the dog park here, but these are well-socialized dogs. If they ever start acting inappropriate, these owners haul them out quickly, but it's pretty rare they have to.
$85 on each kid, $15 on other family members, nothing for DH and I.
10 members of DH's family (by drawing), 6 members of my family, 3 kids.  About $500 total on gifts, then Christmas dinner, postage, and other stuff.  I wish we didn't participate in the big family gifts because it's always just an exchange of things nobody wants or needs.  I can only use so much bubble bath and scented candles in a year.
Not myself, but 3 family members had it done and absolutely
recommend it to anyone. They all had wonderful results with no problems.
Was there an objection by any family members to the use of restraints?

It is amazing how pets really become real members of the family, isn't it?
Gotta lov'em! :-)
you sound arrogant to me. "unfortunate family members?"
like they can't take care of themselves without your noble gifts. Maybe you should be reading some books on codependence.
Yes, been there. I borrowed from my family members. Luckily, they had it to give me. Doing great

I certainly hope no one in your family ever needs defending. You might pack up and leave them too.

I was thinking more like Oklahoma, midwest, etc. Tons there and have plenty of family members who wo

I've had docs give family members' full names.
privacy.  It is informative to anyone reading the report.
Sounds like their training sucks! nm

Sounds like a wartime military POW personnel training manual..nm

It sounds like you were talking about your own family
I think you overstepped your boundaries a lot. You really sound halfway hysterical on this posting. I can only imagine what you were like in working around this person. If I had such feelings working there, I probably would have quit. You got overinvolved in a place where you should have distanced yourself more. If not able to keep on a patient/worker relationship you should have quit. I rescue animals and I read about ones needing saving but as my daughter tells me, Mamma, you can't rescue them all.
Tami, a family counselor could help you with this, a lot. Sounds like
It also sounds like you and he have ZERO time to be just a couple, and like there is no agreement on ground rules. At least a fam counselor, even if he won't go, could help YOU. And that couldn't hurt. Call a local county/state mental health service and see if there is such a thing as a free consult, or reduced rate counseling. Or your husband's workplace might know of something (except, that could potentially adversely effect his employment, maybe). being a cop is hard. Being a working mom is hard.
It IS good training, however, I don't see sm
my dogs as low ranking in my family. They are right up there with my kids and husband and if they misbehave, oh well, every dog has a bad day. If I wanted a low ranking pack member, I would adopt one of the wild coyotes we have running around here.
Is MTATHOME.com a good training school?

Hi everyone.  I was just wondering if MTATHOME.com is a reliable and good training school for me since I am looking to make a career change to Medical Transcription.  Anyone who has been apart of there training program, your comments would be greatly appreciated.  I'd just like to get some feedback on this company to see if I should go with them as my training school.  Thank you.

The water bottle is a very good training tool

for cats (squart guns too).  Get a good scratching post and rub it with catnip.  I use double-sided tape that I get from the Foster&Smith website and the cats leave my furniture alone.  (I have 4 cats).  The log is a nice idea too...messy but nice in addition to scratching posts and such.

Not all combs/brushes are created equal and I have found that the curry-comb type work best.  They are sometimes called a shedding comb.  It is in the shape of a loop with a handle.  I put a towel on the floor and go to town!  In the spring I can get a cat-sized ball of fur off of them using this comb.  Regular combing will really help keep your house cleaner.  You still need to use a roller or duct tape placed around your hand to remove it from your furniture on a regular basis.  Good luck.

Frankly, Frank's rank rankles the ranks!

Some bluster- of course docs aren't training to be MTs, mostly Spheris trying to look good BUT
they are definitely trying to grow the business and knock out more of the American share of the market.
In this expensive 21st Century, even a rank beginner deserves
even 12-15 cpl will be below minimum wage, if the current inflationary trends continue.
Good for you. Sounds very interesting and a good chance of pace - sm

but I live in the northeast and not much need for that where I live.  I also live in a small town so that limits my options.  I have spent the last couple of years as a substitute teacher to supplement my MT job and just completed 4-1/2 months as a long term sub which I enjoyed and was a change of pace from MT.  The only problem is as a sub or ed tech you only get paid during the school year so I would have to keep my MT job for summers and school vacations.  With the way things are going in the MT world I hate to rely solely on that.  I don't want to find myself without any job whatsoever.

Thanks for all the responses.

I tell my family blank keys is good incentive for

Probably staining the new fence we put up to keep our dogs in and other dogs out.
The neighbor dog won't stop trying to attack our dogs, so we put up a nice big fence. Should do the trick. Doesn't keep the rabbits out, though. We'll BBQ, too. Can't go far. Hubby is on call for the weekend with his job.javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');

I saw this happen in MQ office while training. Supervisor was supposed to be training but
account was behind so she did transcription while she collected salary for "training" me. Of course I asked others for guidance rather than bother the furiously typing supervisor. I don't know if she cherry picked but she definitely double dipped into the MQ payroll.
there is a world of difference between MT training and NP training
honestly, I am in nursing school and have lots of health care experience as a paramedic and medical assistant. I think you can relax and leave your family's health either in your mother's hands or their physician's...
sounds good then?
so this would be good for me as a beginner? Oh, please say this is perfect for me.
Sounds good. Thanks!
nm
Sounds good to me. Take it and run.

That sounds good!

sounds good thanks

Nothing sounds good.
My culinary creativity is wiped out lately.  Last night, it was fish sticks because the kids didn't like DH's BBQ ribs.  Maybe sub sandwiches...  I'd have to go to the store to get some deli meat, cheese, poor boy rolls and chips, but that sounds kinda good.
Sounds good to me, I have not been anywhere - sm
alone with my husband in about 18 months, unless you count quickies when the kids are asleep. I'd kill just for a night out, dinner, whatever without the kids, tried to talk him into this week since its my birthday (the big 40)....but he wants to take the kids with us....I love them to pieces but a few hours to ourselves would be nice. At this rate it will not happen for another 12.5 years. Fun.
MMM sounds good!
Everything sounds so good right now.  Maybe the garlic will help keep colds at bay!
mmm sounds good..... sm
What time shall I be there? LOL
Sounds good. Let's all do it!

Sounds good to me to.

OK, that sounds good. sm
I was under the impression that the main board was meant as a place to discuss a little bit of everything, and that's why I was so confused about why the posts regarding gas usage were removed. I don't understand how that was considered a "political" discussion, because there really wasn't much of anything about politics even mentioned. Thanks for your time.
Sounds good to me
I would say most people make around 9 to 10 cpl with acute care and ESL's. That is a lot of lph. If I type for an hour straight without breaks I average 230 lph
That sounds good too, LOL. nm

Sounds good, but they ...
still involve beef, pork, fish, chicken...thanks anyway.

I guess there is no way around those meat choices, so may be asking the impossible.

I have never made sheperd's pie so maybe that's an option.

thank you.:)
Sounds Good Too
I'll keep this recipe for the next time.
This sounds really good nm

Thanks - sounds good - I'm going to try it.

Well that sounds good.
That sounds good.  The unmatched SS tax the last time I was an IC, I am still trying to pay.  Good for you.
that sounds like a good

idea if you and sonn get that working and start to make them, I would like to know if price is not expensive.

Sounds good to me, especially for a
doctor's office, doing one speciality. You will probably have holidays off. You'll love that.
Wow. sounds good!
let us know how it works out.  I just got an ergonomic keyboard.  maybe I purchase the wrong thing here :)
That sounds all good, but none of us are
Sorry to say, but mistakes will be made.  We are only human.  Sorry to hear you have no life other than MT.  I have to say though that there are some great MTs out there that also attend sporting events and can produce quality reports, one being myself.  I commend you for being so dedicated, but after all, this is just a job like any other no matter where you do it whether it be in an office or a "home" office.      JMHO.
That sounds all well and good
needs 6 weeks off for surgery or wants 2 weeks of vacation time.   Who will do the work?  Do you then train p.r.n. employees or IC's.  I am also all for employee status, but you must admit as a human we do get sick and do need vacations.  If the office has no qualms with a 6-week back-up or a 2-week back-up, then so be it.  The nationals offer the fact that the work gets done no matter if Susie Q is on vacation or Betty Jo has to go out for gallbladder surgery.  Can we as employees at home compete with that?  Doubt it.  That is the first thing my supervisor told me where I worked for 17 years and decided to resign because I knew they were planning to outsource and wasn't going to "help them" is that we won't have to worry about vacations or sick time or short-term disability claims due to someone needing surgery.  The work will get done and in a timely manner.  JMO.
sounds good
I was doing office notes and it took me about 8 hours to do 1 side of a tape, print, etc.
