I have not read the article nor know its contents, but commensurate with my job description as MT, as well as the PENNIES I'm paid per line... it is not my/our job to have to know what is located where, what the normal dosage is of any particular medication, its side effects, etc., the normal lab values of tests (99% of dictators don't even slow down enough for us to type)...my job is to TRANSCRIBE AND KNOWN HOW TO PROPERLY SPELL WHAT IS DICTATED....THAT'S ALL!!  Furthermore, I do have a nursing background, and if I flag a discrepancy in the above, it is as a courtesy, in my case, foremost as compassion for the patient.  The docs and nurses are the ones getting the big bucks and should know their stuff accordingly.  I transcribe accurately and spell accurately.  That's all, folks!
