Native Oregonian

Hey Misha,
There are LOTS of churches here!! A friend of mine just move to Tennessee and the ONE thing she truly misses is her church!!

Very nice ski season here and it is beautiful too!! Not that NC isn't, I have heard it absolutely beautiful there.

Here in Oregon, it is truly a wonderful place...beaches and snow skiing....aside from our rainfall and a little cold in the winter with a little snow, I really love it here!

Good luck on your decision!

We can tell you are not native
by use of words and possibly not even in the US.
native NYer here

But ... I moved down to TN in 1992, so I'm used to the southern manner of speaking.

I have no trouble whatsoever with southern dictators, but I did laugh my tail off when I applied for a position with Medquist about 5 years ago and they provided a "southern" dictation. The woman sounded like Dolly Parton on helium.

after the native american, it was FOREIGNERS

It was foreigners (your ancestors by the way) who helped BUILD the USA....along with black Americans (they built all the buildings in Washington DC as SLAVES who never got the credit for building those bldgs in DC....and I'm Caucasian but I know my history and YOUR history too...this great country of ours....

and lots of ESL dictators are also very polite - say please, thank you...and my endocrinologist is a foreigner and he KNOCKS ON THE DOOR before entering and waits for you to say COME IN....

I also prefer foreigners (3rd and part 4th generation American here)....married one....*lol*

And don't forget, we have native terrorists. SM
For a broader view for a greater understanding and perspective on some of these issues, I'd recommend starting with a good book or two. The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman offers a thoughtful--and very readable--view of globalization and outsourcing, for instance. For now, hoping our files will be "brought home," i.e., basically wishing our local hospitals still had to hire those of us who live within a commute of them, is pretty much like hoping computers will go away. I'd spend my time and energy elsewhere.
I agree. Worst are native borns who talk very
