No, taken back by THE owner, then sold.

Built by the guy in Pakistan and run in Sherri's name. IMO the only reason she doesn't have her site up is that SHE doesn't know how. She sat back and had this guy do the work (offshoring) and collected money. Now she's scrambling to find someone to build her site over there.

Again, DON'T go with a for sale by owner agent. Buy Owner is the same thing.

I think MQ will be/or is sold too

I think it for several reasons

like the person above says......it's an albatross

I never thought MQ/phillips would keep it in the first place - it has outlived it's usefullness which was to get their hands into hospitals on a personal basis - they want to do billing and they want to sell them VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEMS...they don't want to do transcription...no person in their right mind would...it's labor intensive and a pain in the butt.

Frank doesn't know anything about MTing - he knows elevators .....and how to dismantle companies.

So all in all, I'm totally shocked it isn't sold yet.

Plus I see accounts leaving MQ offices and nobody saying anything like - we need more accounts.

They say they want to be "leaders in the MT field" but never come up with a plan.

The only people getting "good benes" are  "employees"  in the offices, yet are closing down offices.  And when they finally do close down completely they will have very few people to pay unemployement to because they have squeezed us all into SE status.

    Well, that's my answer.

    I think you sold me

I have a gift card for Sephora (from Christmas) and was thinking of trying some. I use prescriptives, which is OK, best I have found so far, but I think I may try the Bare MInerals, especially with summer coming up.

Work is sloooooow today so I think I may just go place my order.  Might as well do something fun on my downtime.  So far I have mopped the kitchen and vacuumed while waiting for work.   Time to shop!

So what if it is. He said he sold it (sm)

who to trust is a big mystery, he said, she said.  She seems to have deceived us all.  It doesn't matter to me anymore.  Everyone needs to get along and move forward.  Things change.  Yesterday is old news.  Today is a new day, hope everyone enjoys it.

Spain sold to the U.S? ever
    Guadalupe Hidalgo and U.S.land grabs?

If your assertions are correct about new immigrants not serving this country in the last 25-30 years why don't you respond to the post above about the disproportionate number of hispanics dying in Iraq?

I've read your posts before and you just don't seem to like anybody who isn't just like you....Hispanics, African-Americans and you tell Native Americans to "get over it"...but I'm the ignorant one, huh? So I doubt it would matter if we all spoke perfect English.

    Has anyone ever sold jewelry?

I want to sell a DeBeers' diamond that will get me out of a tight financial bind.  However, an ad in the the newspaper made me think of how easy it would be to knock my over and steal my ring.   The jewelry stores said that it would sit on their shelf possibly for a few months.  My dog is requiring emergency vet care and it is going to total much money.  I know the pawn shop is a possibility.  Any ideas?  I hate this idea because I know I will not get what it is worth but it is the one thing I have that would bring me hard cold cash.  Thanks!

Have you sold your soul yet to them? nm
    :
you may have been sold that policy
it doesn't mean you could have collected on it.
    membership sold
Yes, AAMT does sell membership list with your info -- I asked.  Is one of their main sources of revenue.  Then I asked to be removed from the list they sell and the calls became less frequent.  Then I didn't renew.... ha.
First co went broke, so went to second, which sold

    I succumbed, then sold it
Been MTing for a very long time. I've learned that every employer has their own idea of what's right and what's wrong.  At the same time, even if they demand going by the BOS, their intepretation of the BOS is what's right and what's wrong. Not everyone, even within one company, agrees about how things are done.  Period. So, I got some money out of the book (after never opening it, even once), and I listen to the dictates of the boss, because that's what's "right".  It changes with each job.  I learn during the probation period what all those things are. Don't need it after that.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe it will get sold
    .
My neighbor across the street did that...sold

I was dying to ask her how much she got for her house but didn't want to be too nosy, so I didn't.  She was pregnant with twins and near the end of her pregnancy and not able to work full time anymore, and her husband had lost a good job and was working at a lower paying job to just try to get by, and the house only had 2 bedrooms and they already had a son and were having twin girls, and she didn't say but I think they were having trouble paying their mortgage.

Anyway, although I don't know if they got a fair price for their house I know the whole transaction was very fast and easy.  She told me that THEY were allowed to set the date that the house changed hands; it was totally up to them.  The whole thing was done in a just a couple of weeks, because they wanted to move and get settled into a place (they rented a duplex) with more bedrooms before the twins were born.

She told me that part of the reason they sold it like that was that the house needed some work done to it before they tried to sell it, and they just didn't have the time or the money to do it.

But, I have to say the company that bought it didn't do anything either.  She told me they told her they were going to go in and do work to it and then rent or sell it.  Well they didn't do a thing that I saw - no one was ever there working on it.  They put a sign in the yard that it was for sale or rent and within a couple of weeks someone bought it.

Sold your info to who and put it on internet why?
Most of your info is public domain anyway.
This is the only way my husband and I have sold our homes. sm
And it was very easy despite what naysayers may thik or say. My husband is very knowledgable with real estate law, so that helps us a great deal. He has all the forms you need on our computer, etc. He can communicate well with others, etc. He asks for earnest money and he does ask if they have already been pre-approved or if their house if for sale, etc.

Since I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, I can go anytime and show any one of our homes for sale.

You can definitely do it yourself. Don't be afraid and don't let others intimidate you. My parents "lost" 30,000 in real estate fees in Alaska. Basically, they went to an agent who put their house up for sale. The agent never showed up to the open house, my mom had about 15 people come and look that afternoon and she had no idea what to do. One of the guys who attended was an officer in the military who wanted a contract signed THAT DAY. My parents state that the only good thing her real estate guy did was provide an office for the paperwork to be signed. There was a high demand in her neighborhood at the time (about 3 years ago).

    I've sold my eggs...

well, my chicken's eggs really.  Although now that I rethink that, perhaps selling various pieces parts would pay a few more bills....hmmm....

Seasonal things make good spare cash too like an honor-system veggie table  parked at the end of the driveway and homemade wreaths and x-mas centerpieces made from local greenery.

Oh the possibilities are endless if you posess a certain moral flexibility!   I've been thinking of rigging up a pay-per-view "boobie cam" pointed my way to make some extra cash while I type away.  "PayPal Accepted!"

Yes, but that's been for a while now. AAMT sold us up the river.

I knew they sold us up the river, but
I didn't think (well hoped) they didn't have the you know what to totall and completely sell us out by letting them test before the US MTs were even eligible. That is just WRONG!
I sold out once to a company that offshored
Still dealing with the ID theft issues. They repeatedly broke into my computer. This was a US company that used offshore MTs, and I am telling you what, it has been a nightmare. I will never work with anyone who will consider offshoring nor will I ever let anyone install a platform on my computer system again. Tsk, Tsk? Say that when you spend a few days on the phone with all of your financial institutions and 6 months later having to scan every piece of info on your credit report. Not every one is shady but think about what you open yourself up to.
The adaptor is sold on ebay and
through their website at www.tvps.com. Cost around $22 shipped from ebay.  It works good, but the prongs are a slightly loose fit in the plug; I'm not sure if that's a problem with the adaptor or the plug itself.  Nonetheless, I'm able to use my better quality headphones.  I believe the company that sells these also offers a 60 day warranty on the item when it's purchased.  :)
So you sold your soul for a severance wad?
Re: the letter - the paper wants to know if what you've written them is on the up and up. A reputable rag checks it sources for accuracy and truth. If they print the story, you can ask not to have your name or company printed (though I doubt they'd do it anyway) but unless they have real facts, real names, and real experiences, they're not necessarily going to believe that what you tell them is true. There is always SOME risk when you want to make changes, but in this case I think it's almost nil. Still, refusing to accept the risks associated with change often means a person is willing to SETTLE for the status-quo.
the other poster is correct you sold sm
your sold for a wad! Sounds like you are trying to live on both sides of the fence! you have no credibility here and probably will never have any credibility with MTs again. Take your gripe elsewhere!
I mean the post below regarding MQ being sold. I have tried to attach link.

I'm gonna speculate and guess that MQ has been sold. ???

you a package is coming unless it is a legal maneuver?

They never cared before that we understand anything about their company and if Philips has truly written off $438 million or something like that this year for MQ, why would they keep it?

I have a question for the poster whose son sold a Twinkie :)

and then ate the other one.

What is he doing now? I'm figure he's either a lawyer or in sales.

Thanks for the laugh. I just thought that was so funny.

I haven't sold much on E-bay, but I'm selling lots of
things on my local Craigslist and you don't have to worry about shipping or paying a commission.  I have some things that just aren't selling, but I relist about once a week and out of 5 items maybe 1 will sell.   I'm hoping to cut back my hours next month and start listing more things.  I have one room full of stuff, probably only 2% of stuff I even want to keep.  I figure I can declutter and make some $$ at the same time.  I'm no where near making enough to consider quitting, but every little bit I make goes towards debt.
At one time, I was an MTSO, but sold & retired from
MT last year.  I do, however, still own, operate, and offer MTStars to American MTs.
Yes, you sure do! We have sold since 1998, I believe. I'll never forget my first negative.
I sold a collectible PEZ angel dispenser.  It sold for like $200.  I had a hard photo, as in like a photo we developed from Kodak.  My husband and I were SO excited, we nearly fainted.  We took the thing to a professional packer, can you imagine? Back then, nobody sent packages - know what I mean? Maybe only sweet grandmas and mothers with kids at college! So, we paid nearly $20 to have this professionally packed, shipped it insured for $300, etc.  Well, the buyer got it and claimed it was smashed to pieces.  UPS investigated, and they are REALLY fair about this stuff - the box was unblemished - perfect condition.  Because a UPS rep had packed it, it was packed to perfection and their specs, so they refused to give the guy a refund, and told us that he was a scammer.  Back then in the early years of E-Bay, scammers would buy collectibles, get them shipped, and then return a broken/damaged one they had laying around already.  Bait and switch! And many buyers got bullied into giving them their $$ back. So this guy went NUTS on us, demanding the $200, which was long gone for groceries!  Plus he was lying, and UPS said so!!  Well, he left me the most scathing negative. My very first feedback! I cried and cried and cried.  Wrote to E-Bay, wrote to the President, wrote to my mother - nobody cared back then and feedback was NEVER removed no matter what.  I'll never get over that first negative. Now its a scam - if you get a negative, you basically go to that company that E-Bay owns - not safe harbor - something else - the name escapes me, but they even "guarantee" some sellers. Anyhow, you go to them and basically pay $10 to $20 and your negative gets miraculously "removed"...So, even feedback really isn't reflective of the truth anymore...My husband still sells, but my heart just isn't in it anymore. He uses the $$ he makes for buying more junk to sell!  It keeps him amused and out of trouble, and he's happy if he has $20 in his pocket (not much $$ in the MT world anymore!)....
Unless you have DEFINITIVE proof that MQ has sold, DO NOT post innuendos here.

All posts referencing a so called MQ sale have been removed.  Posters should be above pettiness by posting rumor.  FACTS speak volumes.

    POST OFFICE EMPLOYEES INFORMATION SOLD?

It seems the postal service is selling employee information including information to access the employee's health records?  The article stated that they did it because they "needed revenue."  I can't believe I saw this.

I disagree. I think the site was sold to Sheri and she was screwd
deleted because the new guy doesn't want people to think maybe she's right and he isn't. I still think if Sheri put her phone number on her site then maybe she's telling the truth.

    The owner
should be happy you left a blank if you weren't sure of it. It's much better to blank than to guess on somethin, and even people in the business a long time have issues when beginning something new.

    OV/owner
I have 15 years experience and when I first read your note, even I had to stop and scratch my head for a second for what OV meant, (LOL) but I have it in my expander. I agree with the other post in that the owner should be glad you left a blank than to guess at something. I like to think that would be the mark of a good Transcriptionist to leave a blank rather than gamble at making a mistake. Also, when we learn new things, it can be stressful because you are trying to do a good job in areas where we are all new and perhaps learning new things and words. I say, keep up the good work and we all learn from our blanks whether we are new in the business or not. She was really harsh to make that comment.
Give the crap a break. There is NO proof that MQ has sold, so 'critical' thinking isn't in

Give the crap a break. There is NO proof that MQ has sold, and while 'critical' thinking should be a part of the equation, sadly it isn't.  All some posters are doing here is stirring up trouble and they can go somewhere else, we don't want it here.

Dano, regarding Softscript, I've received a number of emails from people who work at the company who appear to have legitimate complaints.  I see no reason for posters to not be allowed to post for others to be watchful.

Because all threads referring to a so-called MQ sale were removed, some of the good comments went, too.  When a thread is removed in its entirety we are unable to pick and choose what stays.

There is one editor/QA person who if push comes to shove and you can't get it you can e-mail that person. It's a small company and run smoothly with no pompous people allowed and no incompetent people allowed.
    as a former MTSO owner

Personally, I would not hire anyone unless they could transcribe the hardest dictator I had. And that is at LEAST two years of acute care experience.

I think the expression is, "burned once, twice shy."

FROM THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY
This came from an email from Andy, the owner, last December to the employees:

"Whether we think offshore labor is right or wrong, it has become a fact we cannot escape from. OSi will not actively pursue offshore labor contracts, but we have made the decision to experiment with using some offshore labor to save this large OSi client from going elsewhere. We believe this is the best decision for our employees assigned to this account and the company because this account is growing and we can assign the offshore part to the future increases and not have to reassign any OSi MTs. OSi is committed to continue using US MTs for the majority of their work and we will continue to resist going offshore."

He is talking about Ochsner, and I was told that they STILL offshore to them and also to Sarasota and Mayo.

The problem is that they LIED AND DENIED AND LIED AND DENIED this for years. They got caught when the then-QA manager, SD, mistakenly forwarded an email from the Indian company to the company employees. Of course, she was demoted, so they hired NP to replace her. However, FA pitched a hissy and threatened to go on strike because she was overlooked, so they kissed her a$$ and moved NP to another position. Not surprisingly, that department has gone straight to the toilet, and almost everyone has either quit or gotten fired, in addition to the mass exodus of employees since this came to light, because she is incompetent, inexperienced, and daffy as hell and is the most irresponsible, nonproductive person in a management position.

Be careful. If you are not in THE circle and kiss a$$, you are so dispensable that it is not even funny.

Any company that repeatedly lies about offshoring, promotes incapacitated people on power trips, and sends the work offshore in the first place, is ruthless and cannot be trusted.

Look elsewhere. It will only get worse!

I bought a 2004 Sante Fe and I absolutely love it.  I get 27/mpg in the city and about 35/mpg highway.  It is roomy and comfortable.  You also can't beat the warranty.  I had some paint chipping right where the doors close on the bottom.  I called the 800#, took it in and they fixed it without a nudge and gave me a 2005 to drive in the mean time.  Mine is a 6 cyl and fully loaded with a sunroof and all and I only paid $17,000 for it.  It'll be paid off in September!  Yippee!
