Nope, I am working exactly the way I always have worked and I always am careful with my work but

In Reply to: Be honest! If you did not think there were random checks on your reports by QA, would you work - differently? Just curious.

lets face it the only way to be certain you are PERFECT is to relisten.

Nope, my doc who is supposed to be working at half- sm
schedule due to recent illness popped out 52 minutes today, other doc about 45 minutes....keeping busy.
Nope. Many years working at the School of Medicine. SM

An MS4 is a med student till June graduation. He's "Mister So-and-So" then in June when he graduates, he's "Doctor So-and-So."

A 4th year resident is something else entirely. He is an R4 (or that's what they call them here). HE is an MD. The MS4 is not an MD.

You have to be careful about 'friends' you work with
I thought I had made a friend working for a company too.  She started griping about the company one night and continued to grip just about every night thereafter for a few months. I made the mistake of being tired one night and was irritated because for Veteran's Day the company did not get the payroll done early and get our direct deposits in and I had already sent payment for my vehicle only to have the check bounce... Anyway, I said something to the effect of someone not preparing for the holidays. And I ended up getting canned for saying something derogatory about the company. She still e-mails me to this day griping about the company. She said some pretty mean things about this company, but yet, they kept her and fired me.
be careful of the adaptors...they don't work with all pedals. nm
nm
Write it off. And be careful who you work for. I had the same problem with local company.
What's your time worth to take these people to small claims court? And what was pointed out to me after doing the research is even if you win in small claims court, there is no way to collect it. Since the company is a bad debt anyway, they aren't going to pay you because you win a small claims court judgement.
Nope, won't work

Microsoft is really cracking down on things like that. You will have to buy another copy of XP if you want to put it on another computer.

What my husband and I did (we each have a computer) is buy one copy of XP which we installed on both computers, then I bought a second copy on ebay that was still sealed in the package, and used only the code that comes with the software (which is visible thru the clear packaging) for my computer. That way, if and when I decide to upgrade, I can still sell the sealed copy of XP on eBay. I'm sure by that time I won't get as much as I paid for it, but at least I will get some return on my investment.

Just a thought.....

Had it and it worked okay but then suddenly stopped working
Found out every Transcriptionist using a C-phone had that problem. Magic Jack changed something one weekend about 1-1/2 to 2 months ago and it no longer works with a foot pedal.
Nope...MDI-MD...no work x 2 months!

Nope, cause I only work 32 hrs a week.
x
After 25 years, nope. Just work. But I used to. nm
x
Nope. If I wanted to work outside the home, it certainly would not
be typing of any sort.
Nope, hard work and have to prove yourself.
Don't get discouraged though, we have all been where you are at...good luck!!
I like Sten-Tel, working out of folders. I have worked Vianeta before and it was slow and
:l
So, are you working for the same company. I have worked for 2 companies and I have noticed a huge
difference in the lines I got from each company. The accounts were similar. I never ever got what your talking about but I would average 600-700 lph at one company and the other one  I was lucky to get 400 lph so then I figured out they didnt pay for spaces, footers, headers etc.. and that does factor into your line counts on that platform.
Nope, my computer is owned by the hospital I work for, and does not even

Nope, happy to be paid 30,000 a yr to work less than 8 hrs a day, in the comfort of my bedroom,

Nope, I don't feel "LUCKY" to be treated like an imbicile by my company. Nope, No way.

Specifically MQ. I do not work, have never worked and will never work for them, but ...sm

totally am against outsourcing work outside of the United States.  Any company should not be allowed to advertise if they outsource outside the US, in my opinion.

Go work were you worked before then SM

if it still exists, of course.  You were in an antiquated system 3 years ago.  We were all working.  The hospital hourly system fell by the wayside about 6 years ago.  What's stopping you from going back to the hospital?  Oh, they OUTSOURCED?  Ahhh, I see.

Go work in some other field.  Then again, stay in MT.  I can't wait to see you looking for job very shortly when they can you for all your whining.

When I worked for them, there was plenty of work.
They are very disorganized, though, and I spent most of my day doing unpaid clerical work. They would make lots of promises to get me to stay and then not follow through with them.
All my programs that worked on 98 work on XP - sm
There is a setting you can do, after you reinstall them, the "compatibility" mode. You right click on the desktop icon, select "properties", then hit the "compatibility" tab and indicate what you want, Win 95, 98, NT or 2000. It's pretty simple and all my programs work fine on XP even if they weren't made for it.
I should add, I don't know how they are to work for as I've never worked for them, just saw th
post.
I've worked with MTs who work diligently
...to find a way to cherry pick.

The system that you and the poster above you are describing sounds like the one used where I used to work.

One MT fiddled around and wasted who knows how much company time until she figured out how to manipulate the filters component of the system, and set the filters to only route to her jobs from her 3 preferred dictators.

If only these MTs put as much time into actually transcribing as they put into getting around the system they could probably make even more money than they do with the cherry picking.

It worked; I remembered to download the work into E-Dictate
nm
Not working for them, but know a few at the top I'd never work under. nm
x
i think anywhere from 14 to 20 an hour depending on hours worked, kind of work, etc.
nm
Work you working for Diskriter
nm
I don't mind working some. When I work
weekends I'm not on a schedule and I don't usually do a full day, so it isn't too bad.  I don't mind working a rotation, but don't want to work every weekend, although I do get a differential for working weekends.
you won't be working until you die. You won't have work that long.

Best: I can work whenever I want. Worst: I am always working.

I heard they were not nice to work for. Knew people who have worked there and left.
This is secondhand information, but I trust the people that told me this.
Been working on a fantastic project at work...sm
Helping prepare for President Bush to come and give his Veterans Day speech from where I work.  It's amazing to see how they put everything together in a few short days. We got word less than a week ago he was even coming, and now we are overrun with preparations and White House/Security staff. Hoping I can get a ticket for my 10 y/o daughter to come to see the speech. If you would have told me 15 months ago when I took this job that I'd be working on this now, I never would have believed you. I worked at home for 13 years, so this is all really huge switch for me.
In-office work is different than working at home. That's just the way it is. If it seems too
rigid to you, maybe you should stick to working for the nationals.
working at home is hard work
I have been working at home for 22 years. I used to get the same statements from people asking me what I did all day, until one Sunday in a local paper they compared 8 hours of sitting at a computer and typing to digging ditches 8 hours a day, not as physical but a lot of mental use, especially transcription. I do my housework early in the morning if I get a chance. If I have extra work at night, I have my family order pizza at night. My husband used to say to me what did you do all day and I would tell him, well I typed, did laundry, made beds, went to the grocery store, before I started typing, took kids to baseball practice. Now I am older and wiser and so is my husband and he does not dare ask me what I have done all day as he knows if I am working I am making money and if I have the time I will clean, but if I don't, then it can wait until tomorrow. Occasionally when people would ask me what I did all day (not husband), I would reply "nothing", just sat with my feet up all day lol. My feeling is this, if they don't like it, let them do the laundry, dishes, empty dishwasher, sweep the floor, vacuum, etc, and you know what they do and will. Don't let them get you down. Just because we work at home does not mean we have it made quite contrary, we work hard and just look at how our bodies fall apart because of it.........
Worked in clinic for 30 yrs and have tinnitus. I am used to back ground noise, hard to work

Proving that working at home is HARD WORK

HELP!!!!  How can we prove to our significant others that working at home is hard work and just because we are home, we are working and CANNOT always find extra time for laundry, dishes, cleaning, dinner, etc?????

I hear, "you work 6 hours a day, I work 10...I expect everything to be done if you have those extra 4 hours.... " Well, my 6 hours of working is actual sit at the computer and type my fingers to the bone....yes, I take breaks and do have extra time..but then I shower, chat with friends, catch the news..whatever....it is not excessive.  I keep up on the house most of the time, juggle my schedule to pick kids up from school, etc.... so once in a while if I just don't feel like making sure everything around the house is done, i get "What did you do all day..."  I AM SICK OF IT!!!!

My job is a full time job, I make more than I ever had working in an office 40 hours a week.....and I don't want to feel guilty for taking breaks and having some quality time for myself in between working...

Especially when he goes to work and talks to all his coworkers, brags about how easy his job is, sits around waiting for an assignment etc.....  Just because he isn't home to do the laundry on his breaks, why should I?????

sorry this is so long...but I KNOW a lot of you can relate!!!!!

After working 2 years, I average 220-250 lph for clinic work.

At 53 working 2 jobs 80 hours a week is impossible. I tried it, it does not work!! (sm)
I have been at this business 30+ years and at one point worked 3 jobs and 2 were for hospital contracts with taxes taken out and the other IC. It gives you no life. My suggestion, if you need the extra $$ work your 40 during the week, then 1 or 2 nights 2 hours and then Sat/Sun 16 hours which would give you 20 hours. That is more than enough and will give you a chance to see if you want to make a job change. Have tried the 2 FT 80 hours and almost had a seizure over it. Remember if your not physically well you cannot do it all!
Your company will dictate whether working off line via recorded work is even

Well supposed to be working and GUESS WHAT NO WORK AGAIN AT AMHERST MQ. No doubt in my mind that
they could care less about the MT, if you make money or starve. These people are absolutely crazy. There is no doubt in my mind.
I would charge more per line for working holidays or if asked to work scheduled days off. SM
But did you address that in your contract?
Every company is different -- I worked FT for one as an employee but worked a split shift - sm
So I never took breaks. I would work 5 hours, break for about 4 hours then do another 3. Another company I worked for did not care what hours you worked (IC) but wanted a min. amount of work each day, 500 for PT and 1000 for FT-- BUT they paid you by how many lines an hour you put out, the higher the lph the higher up the scale you made per line in pay; they have since changed everyone to a flat rate with incentive. But bottom line, if you are an IC it does not matter what hours you work, though many ask for a schedule and ask you to stick to it, they just want you to meet line requirements daily, i.e. 1000 per day, 1200 per day, whatever it is.
my take is that she worked inhouse, not at home, and now wants to find out how to work at home. nm

I got up early, worked during naps, and worked when DH got home.

You have to be disciplined to make yourself work when baby is napping instead of maybe watching TV or doing housework, etc.

I might also go the route of having a teen come into your home, or either trying a mother's morning out program at a local church/daycare.   I've been home since my youngest was born and he has never been in all-day daycare, but I did have him in a mother's morning out program 15 hours a week at a local church.   It didn't help a lot with my work schedule because I had an older son in school and was a room mom and tutored other kids, but that might be an option.  The only problem with the mother's morning out program is they are around other kids and tend to pick up every germ.  I finally took my DS out of the program because he stayed sick.  You were supposed to keep them off if they had green nasal discharge and I did, but no one else did.  Every time I got him well after 2 to 3 days back he would be sick again.  Other than that it was very good for him because he would not have had a chance to be around kids his age otherwise.

Be VERY careful.
That kind of cruelty to animals is an indication of a very deep problem. You are a much better person than I would have been under the circumstances. I don't care what kind of sob story he tried to spin, I'd have sued him for everything he had for the false police report AND pressed charges for animal cruelty. At the very least, you might want to ask him to retract his accusations IN WRITING and send copies to the police department and the animal control folks, just in case the girl tries on some other type of false accusation to get attention. Your good heart is admirable and I am humbled by your charitable reaction, but at the same time, you must protect yourself, your family, and your innocent dog. JMHO.
Soy can also help, but you have to be careful...
as soy also can inhibit the thyroid  function.  One serving a day is all that is recommended to help with menopausal symptoms.
Thank you! Be careful though,
horsewhipped for your "liberal agenda".
OSI be careful?
Why?
be careful
I wouldn't use a vacuum, some of the parts are tiny and you could end up sucking them up. The canned air is better, it won't damage anything.
Me, too, but be careful (sm)

I read something about a prostate being dictated as a _______ cc prostate, which needed to remain as is. Anybody know?
