We get paid for what we do.  As an IC, you entitled to deduct your expenses from your gross income.  Your TAXABLE income is the amount of your gross minus your expenses.


No, we don't get credit with Social Security for our gross, but we sure do for your taxable income.  Then again, we don't pay taxes on our gross either.


Does that answer it, or did I just make a really poor shot in the dark here?
