I think the FREQUENTLY mentioned ones
if you'll check are the ones who are talked about on this board quite often. The good ones are only talked about infrequently, that's the only point I got out of this whole thing. Can anyone name 1 company that called them after a month and offered them ANY raise at all. I'm interested if anyone can. I only know from my own experience that I only get raises when asked and have only had 2 in almost 10 years and they weren't more than 1/2 cent, so I think the author of that is correct in their viewpoint.
I've been getting this frequently
I assume they've been getting a bunch of blanks lately (due to their slurring/mumbling/chopping off words in mid syllable) and assume we don't understand the particular words that were blanked, instead of listening to their blanks and realizing they were incomprehensible.
They offshore, frequently change their

pay scale so it s/l you are getting big bucks but are actually getting less, dictators difficult (at least on acute care), sound quality not so great.  Lots of posts about how disorganized they are and many unhappy MTs.  S/l there would be lots of work because many are leaving.  Company used to be called Transcription Solutions (I think).

A few years ago, when I had 15 years' experience in acute care, they asked me to send a resume.  I'm not sure how they got my info, but I did send resume.  They were looking for at least 5 years' experience.  The recruiter then told me I didn't have enough experience.  I had not even tested.  They contacted me because of my experience, so not sure what that was about.

Recently the MTSO contacted me, I tested, and aced the test.  The MTSO was very anxious to hire me, but I wasn't interested after their offer and hearing the quality of the sound files.   At that time they were not offshoring, but they are now.  I was again offered a position to QA the offshore work, which I was told was "surprising good"  - NOT.

I drink hot cider frequently and it doesn't keep me
awake.  Apple juice is a stimulant, but stimulates the other end.
'and it certainly does not seem to be any of the companies who are mentioned frequently on these
boards.'  This statement is not necessarily true.  I know of a number of companies mentioned right here on this site that treat their employees/ICs quite well.  I know because I maintain informed.  I have friends who work for different services and they tell me of their experiences.  The poster should have researched a little further before making that statement. That is that one posters opinion, but not the opinion of everyone.
I travel frequently and I have not found this to be a problem.

You can either search on-line or go to store like Office Depot and look at keyboard trays.  They have them that will clip on.  You can clip one to a table.  Many times I've propped a pillow against a table and put the keyboard tray on the pillow.   I've worked at a picnic table with a folded towel on the edge of the table.   The height isn't the best and the towel kept the hard edge from pressing into my wrists.   I've used a bed tray and put my laptop on top of that and placed the keyboard underneath.

I'd try a few things now before you go.   I found that if I had to work I found a way to get the job done.   I've even typed on the laptop keyboard with the laptop on my lap as we are going down the road.

You aren't alone. I am frequently mortified and embarrassed by commercials.
Pepto-Bismol's little song, Charmin, that Tampax commercial..ugh!

When I was a child I used to wonder what Preparation H was for because the advertisements never really said. I wish that was still the case!
I'll give it a go. Fortunately I don't have to punch in and out so getting up frequently won&
be a major issue and will probably be better for me in the long run anyway.  My feet swell horribly and my rear hurts after about an hour and being more mobile will probably help those too.
I think people with higher IQs actually frequently feel insecure,
and people who razz them or put them down. It's not hard to get a complex about something that personal when people get down on you for something you can't help, and had nothing to do with creating. God-given gift. And then when people FLAME you for it, it hurts. And you go back into "turtle" mode and get a job as a Transcriptionist because machines don't bite.
