Not alone but no stranger to loneliness
Was widowed at age 46 after 23 years of marriage.  Sorta like the Vern Gosden song, "you don't know lonely till it's chiseled in stone."  I never thought I'd date again much less marry but there came a point where I realized I had to pick up and go on and I could either just exist and die lonely or I could force myself to go on solo.  Wasn't too long after that till I met my now  husband and we've been happily married now for 13 years. He's living proof that there are wonderful people, male and female, out there, all ages.  Sometimes you just have to sort through a lot of trash to find a treasure and sometimes they just pop up when least expected.
Life is stranger than fiction, why

do you think they have reality shows.

I feel sorry for you Mom.  There's really not much you can do.  I agree with the posters who say some people like the drama.  Live and learn.  I wish I had some real advice to give you.

I tell a complete stranger my whole life history practically.
I'm suddenly realizing that I have isolated myself and that I have no real friends and the only adult conversation I have is with my DH.  While I love by DH dearly and he is my bestest friend, sometimes you need other conversations/relationships.
I would do ANYTHING else. Cleaning skids/splatters/pubes off in a stranger's toilet

Given her previous behavior
she would probably accuse you of molesting her if you did try to hug her.
Unfortunately rude behavior
is becoming the norm - in many parts of the country. That doesn't mean it has to be tolerated, however.

Curious: Did you ask her 'what makes you think it's appropriate for you to attack me, when you clearly have not followed instructions?'

Very strange behavior...
Were cherrypicking work, or calling in sick...or anything else going on?  I ask because that's just crazy for a high quality producer to be treated that way.
That explains ALL your childish behavior.

MT Company behavior Poll

This is because this MT is curious, you don't have to mention names of where you work, just curious:

1.  Has anyone here ever had problems contacting the company they work for as an employee with noncommunication from supervisor frequently?

2. Regarding scheduling and work times, do you find that you run out of work when you were given the impression when hired there was tons and tons of work; then none for weeks during your shift?

3.  Have many of you out there MT or QA ever been terminated without notice, and or by e mail after a lot of noncommunication?

You can answer any or all of these questions.  Trying to get a sense of the trends out there right now, and wondering if it is best to become an independent contractor, because at least you have a contract, and or the ability to get a schedule you set so you can have a number of clients and you can have more control over work.  Also, reliability of companies regarding sudden lay offs and no notice terminations seem to be happening lately, so trying to get a sense of that too.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Another definition of satanic is a behavior that is evil , which I think may have been the original
poster's intended meaning.
I agree. Take none of this. Let their behavior be known and even if necessary call the local News
many TV stations have to help. There was a service in our city who never paid her people and the local news On Your Side was contacted and not only was she on the news for not paying but she was also picked up by the police. There is usually at TV station in every major area (even if they are not in a major area, will go to the local surrounding areas) to help folks with problems such as this. Take it to whoever you can. People like this do not respect you.

I never understood why people continue to work for people that are even one day late. Pay should be on time. If it isn't, the MTSO would never get an ounce more of work out of me and believe me he/she WOULD pay me! I am not one to let it go. I too have worked in the legal field and I do know how to proceed.

Just don't give them one more day of your time.
Sounds like a textbook case of passive aggressive behavior.

who died and left her boss and expert on nut-case MTs or freakish behavior?
sounds like one of the MQ supervisors all filled with herself.
I love Paula!!!! nm

hey, do you like Paula Dean?
I LOVE HER!!! She makes everything look SOooo delish! And, of course, the more fattening the better. I've tried quite a few of her recipes and never been disappointed. I would love to visit her restaurant one day.
Paula Deen
I love watching her shows. Recently, she made a red velvet cake that I cannot wait to try (although it will probably be Christmas before I get around to it). My mom used to make red velvet cakes a lot when I was a child because my dad loved them. She would usually make them in December, either for Christmas or my dad's birthday, which was also in December. However, I've never seen anything like Paula Deen's version. She put pecans, marshmellows and cocconut in the icing--it was absouletely beautiful! P.S. I checked out that link....thanks!
Great site, Paula!
Thank you for sharing!
As Paula would say, Taylor is infectious!!

Yup, and Paula is no longer clapping like
Thankfully on both!
I think Kevin is truly in denial! Paula has said too much!

I have to know....how whas Paula Deen's

I agree, paula looks drugged out 24/7...sm

she admits she is on *pain medications due to back problems* but it's ridiculous while she is on American Idol...she becomes sloppy, falls all over either Simon or Randy and then gushes over ALL the contestants.....I *heard* that when her contract is over, they are thinking of asking Cher to take Paula's place, and that would be so refreshing.

Personally, I am more sick of Paula Abdul on this show than Simon Cowell.

Recipe by Paula Dean. LQQK
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon House Seasoning (garlic powder, black pepper, and salt mix)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium bell pepper, chopped
1 cup grated Cheddar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup crushed crackers (recommended: Ritz)
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (recommended: Lawry's)
2 slices white bread
Sauce, recipe follows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together, except the bread slices and Sauce. Shape into a loaf. Line a 1 1/2-quart loaf pan with the bread slices. Place meatloaf on top. Bake loaf for 45 minutes. The bread absorbs the grease and should be discarded after loaf is removed from oven.

Sauce:
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar
Chopped onions, optional
1 bunch fresh parsley leaves, chopped, optional

Heat the soup and milk over medium heat; add the cheese. Add the chopped onions and parsley to the sauce, if desired. Pour Sauce over the meatloaf or pass at the table.

Just curious, is your dog a senior? I had a senior dog who had similar behavior. sm
She was a Siberian Husky who was 10-11 yrs old when I adopted her, and I got to have her for 5 yrs before she passed on. She was such a character! I still miss her, and we still talk about her antics.

Anyway, she always seemed to have a hard time at night. She would wake up, pace and pant, and sometimes howl as if calling out "Hey, where is everybody, and where am I!" I'd get up and go comfort her. It was like she was disoriented until she saw me, then she'd be okay and go back to sleep. I used to leave a night light on for her too, thinking it might help. (Her vision was not so good.) Come to find out, my vet said her behavior was probable canine dementia/senility.

I'm dealing with a similar situation now with one of my other Siberians, who is now 15 yrs old. Vet has me trying a supplement called Proneurozone (not very expensive). If that doesn't help there's a med. called Selegiline (sp?) we can try.

I just thought you might be interested, if your dog is an older one. ;o)
