People should have powdered formula/mild. Mix it up one bottle at a time.

Powdered formula/milk sounds like a good solution.
However, if you're out of a clean, nonpoluted water supply for over 2 weeks, with no resources available to receive such in the foreseable future, I don't believe even this alternative would suffice! Powdered formula needs to be mixed with something. The only alternative I could imagine available at this point in time would be urine, if you yourself were not totally dehydrated. If you were totally dehydrated & not producing urine, what is your next suggestion?
Yeah, powdered milk supposedly does the trick - nm

This is mild - sm
Tee hee. I know where this came from and this is actually pretty good for this particular author. A little punctuation would be nice, though.
i have a mild case of it

This is a strange part of the body to get eczema but I had it on the corner of my eyelids & on the creases of my eyes. They gave me Elidel but it would cause my eyes to sting & water severely which would flush all of the medication out. I ended up putting Vaseline on the affected areas to moisturize w/o irritating. That did the trick there. The other spot I get it is on my ring finger (underneath my wedding rings) so I have another prescription lotion for that (Fluocinonide Cream) - that has been very helpful for me thus far.

I generally have really dry skin in the winter. I take a lot of precautions to prevent my dry skin from getting worse and turning into eczema. I use Dove moisturizing soap for sensitive skin, regular soap tends to be problematic. I’ve tried Oil of Olay in the Shower Body Lotion which is pretty good too, but, my favorite moisturizing method is using baby oil after showering. That works wonders & is much more affordable than the pricing lotions! The trick is to use the oil before towel drying to lock in 10x's the moisture.

Also, try visiting some eczema websites, here is one I found to be useful.

My DD had the shot AND got the CP, however, very very mild case.

Did you say mild winters? :) Just 8 more years
until my last one graduates and then I'm out of this frozen tundra. It was freezing this morning. By that I mean 32 DEGREES. It's only October 22nd.
Nowadays that's a pretty mild word....... -nm

I use a mild, nondrying, unscented facial soap and
Oil of Old Lady for sensitive skin.
Maybe a bottle of Jose Cuervo

If an MT drinks a whole bottle of wine while...
working, there is NO WAY that can't have any affect.  Yikes!  There she.he goes now!
Nope..the almighty bottle came first with my EX

After 25 yrs, along with 4 before that of dating then he decides the bottle is more important....well it was & still is and I got outta there

The baby has to eat, whether breast or bottle
feeding.  This is a time in their lives that you will only have just once and no matter how much you wish to have it again, it will never be.   I breast-fed my youngest 30 minutes, every 30 minutes it seemed.   It can be done if you have the right attitude and you have some flexibility in your job and your SO is willing to help out.
The 'Genie' (internet) is out of the bottle, but - (sm)
the medical world seems to think that in the case of MTs, they can return ours to the bottle.

We have it. We like it. And we're never gonna give it up.
try Listerine in a spray bottle
it works in my car.  I had problems with ants getting in the car during summer. I was told to spray (soak) the carpet, and WA la... no more ants!!
I agree with mac. You might want to buy a BIG bottle of Excedrin before starting but the more you
type them the easier it gets.  I also write down the phrases, which helps and have example reports.  The words I usually do get stumped on too are the English words we use everyday.  Keeping trying and they will get lots easier
People do it all the time...

just make sure you're not short-changing your employer(s).  If you're good at what you do and want to put in the time to do it right, what's the problem???

the extra bottle for the shampoo is an excellent idea
I could prob do that for just about every soap I use.
The water bottle is a very good training tool

for cats (squart guns too).  Get a good scratching post and rub it with catnip.  I use double-sided tape that I get from the Foster&Smith website and the cats leave my furniture alone.  (I have 4 cats).  The log is a nice idea too...messy but nice in addition to scratching posts and such.

Not all combs/brushes are created equal and I have found that the curry-comb type work best.  They are sometimes called a shedding comb.  It is in the shape of a loop with a handle.  I put a towel on the floor and go to town!  In the spring I can get a cat-sized ball of fur off of them using this comb.  Regular combing will really help keep your house cleaner.  You still need to use a roller or duct tape placed around your hand to remove it from your furniture on a regular basis.  Good luck.

I do ops all the time too and HATE them. Why do people like them? sm
Give me a 10 minute discharge, ER, consult, H&P any day. I always wondered why people liked OP notes with all of the different equipment terms and such.
Use less salt than directed in the recipes. Try the powdered milk hot chocolate recipes! Yummy :-)

What irritates me is that people on here actually take the time to answer her

Why not? Other MT boards refer people here all the time?
Are we supposed to just pretend other sites don't exist?
Those people obviously do not work full time or want to
make a good living. I would work at McDonald's before I would let someone take my house. If someone is not making enough money in this field, it is them, not the industry. Tired of everyone tip-toeing around this issue. The money is there but you need to buckle down and do the work. Stop whining and start working.
No but I wish people would take the time to find this information. sm
Sometimes it just takes the effort to look. I see people wanting information. The information is easy to find, but they want others to do the research and hand it to them. I had to do the research. I now have 20+ docs/clinics BUT key point is I did all of my own research, learned about how digital works, etc. I truly believe, the more you read (research) the more you as an individual will learn and therefore be able to offer your clientm more.
Geez people! Why are some of you so nasty all of the time? SM

I don't think having your husband be the IC and hiring you is the the way to go.  It's too convoluted.  What you can do is apply and test for jobs under your husband's name.  That way on paper he has the job.  Then you just do the work.  The paychecks come in his name.  That way he doesn't have to "hire" you.  You can earn as much as you want.

I wouldn't worry about Uncle Sam too much.  He's been screwing all of us for years.  What he doesn't know won't hurt him.  Of course, now you've posted it in a public forum...

formula
take the character with spaces number - divide by 65 and mutliply by your rate (0.11)- this would be with spaces - for without use the total charater count - use only after you save your work to ensure all characters are counted.
what is the formula
for a straight line count that MTstars program gives you - when I do - tools - properties - line ocunt is is much different - what is the formula used in the program - I thinkI may have been jipping muself.
formula
Divide your lines per hour by 60 then multiply by 15.
i.e. If you type 240 lines per hour; divide that by 60 = 4; then multiply 4 by 15 which would equal 60 words per minute.
You people are having a real good time condemning me....

Don't you know that you can DEACTIVATE your current OS when you upgrade to the next level?  Obviously not. But then, most people here don't seem to be all that computer literate. I asked a couple of computer questions below which got absolutely NO answer.

Don't go jumping to conclusions that someone is a "scammer" and "ruining it for everyone else" until you do your homework.

I second this suggestion. Just pick a time zone and let people know. (nm)
x
I used that formula too for $.059 per line
xx
I think you must have their formula backward.
They probably divide the total by 15 to come up with your 30 minute production rate, then multiply that  by 2 to average out for 8 hour day if you are paid by the line or incentive program.    What you are saying makes no sense and would be a detriment to them in any type of worker dispute hearing.
Formula of dictation
Depending on the dictation and your experience, the formula I have always used is: 4 minutes for every 1 minute of dictation or 225 lines minimum an hour.  It is usually required that a Transcriptionist do 100 minutes of dictation or 1,000 lines a day if you are working full-time.  I know some do less and some do quite a bit more.  I do anywhere from 1500+ lines a day.  I hope this helps.
this is equal to a very old formula
Back when documents were produced on typewriters, formulas were created to define the average length of a line. It was defined as 10 words with spaces, with the average word being 5 characters - thus 55 printed characters per line.

All the ad your reading is saying is that they will take all the visible characters you produce and divide it by 55 to decide your final production at the end of the day. It does not include bolding, underlining, hard returns, spaces, etc., as had been defined by the old AAMT.

The new AAMT/MTIA whatever it is called monster is redefining a line as only characters you see and this ad is embracing the new definition and defining 55 visible characters as a line. A 55 visible character line is approximately equal to a 65 line that includes spaces - but I bet they are not going to compensate for thespacesyouneedtoinsertintotthelinetomakeitreadable.

there has to be some sort of formula out there
to count the lines minus the headers and footers.
QA score formula
Can anyone post formula for figuring QA score.  Thanks!
The worst problem with MQ is running people out of work all the time.
:
I don't know of any store in my area that hires people full-time.
That includes Walmart, K-mart, grocery stores, etc. So I guess it's all slave labor. In fact, any transcription company that does not hire employees must also be the same. They certainly save themselves a lot of money under the guise of Independent Contractors, don't they?
Some people like to keep a Time Clock thing showing on their monitors, too. But

This message is defining what VBC is! It's time people realize the American MTs...
are our own worst enemies.  VBC is NOT a good thing!  I personally think we should get paid per keystroke.
Why do so many people LOVE operative notes? I see posts about it all the time...
how they make good money on them, they could do them all day, feel cheated when they don't get them? I have been doing this for years and years and still kind of groan when I see them come up on my screen. Fill me on the secrets and maybe I won't whine so much when I do them. Thanks gal!
Ohh, someone gave formula for figuring out

Formula for calculating lines?

Can anyone give me the formula for calculating lines rates? I need to know how much (money) is made if I transcribe 15,000 lines at 8 or 9 cents per line. Also, about how many pages is 15,000 lines (I know that each page will be different in lines for live transcription, but I'm looking for a ball park figure.) It's been a while since I have been on this payment format.

Lot's of people work for cheatin companies. They bide their time and strike when they can.
As for me, I have joined a class action law suit on behalf of shareholders and MTs.  Double whammy.  Not too dumb.  By the way, don't you have some managing to do or are you on duty all day to try to make MTs think MQ is AOK and everything else going on around them financially is just a figment of their imagination.
A computer's OS (operating system) is only meant for a 1 time install on 1 pc. People like yours

who abuse this are just looking for a cheap break, jack up the price (theoretically speaking) for the rest of us, and are asking for a myriad of problems on their pcs.  To deter this behavior, about 1 year ago, many computer companies ceased to include all software when packaging the pc for shipment.  It is because of software abuse/misuse, computers that are delivered with a pre-installed OS are delivered without the OS + other necessary software, due to behaviors such as yours and many others.  However, if you call the company and verbally request all software: OS (installation CD), as well as other necessary software (tools systems, drivers, diagnostics, utilities, print driver, internet security, and WP/Word/Excel, et al), they will gladly send it to you free of charge.

Formula: Dictation Minutes x 3 = 3 hours
That's always been the calculation -- a ten-minute report will take 30 minutes to type... one minute = three minutes, etc... Depending on how slow the doc is, though, you can really speed him up and sometimes type real-time.
I used to use MK foundation, but they changed the formula and now I'm allergic to it.
It makes my eyes water and I can't wear it any longer.  I haven't found a foundation that I like as well as the previous MK formula.  I wish they hadn't changed it.
Formula is: Characters PLUS spaces / 65 = lines. (nm)

I worked for a local hospital that used the same formula for our incentive pay.
