This is how urban legends get started
someone gets part of a real story, doesn't bother to verify it, makes up the rest to make it sound really, really bad, then spreads it around.

Now some perpetrually outraged twinkie is going to start denouncing American culture from some pulpit somewhere.

Sheesh.
Man, I knew I shoulda checked Urban legends about this

Unfortunately, false statements of high pay attract

Check it out on Snopes.com
It'll be listed on there.
Check Snopes
I always check Snopes for stuff like this.  I learned long ago not to forward anything like this, as it was a bit embarrassing to get a reply back saying "Snopes says this is a fake," etc.  So I signed up for Snopes, get it every weekend, and voila!
Please check Snopes before posting. This is a hoax & has been out for a while now.

MQ true or false...FALSE

Yep, we are swamped in Ohio but no, that bonus was not offered this past weekend. Line bonus's were.

I actually won a contest with my local radio station to have what they call side-stage passes for the Country Fest 2004 tour. I stood right on the side-lines where you can see everything. Keith Urban is a smart and sweet and he is adorable. He was so polite and hugged me when I had to leave. Didn't know what to do with myself.
Wow! I always thought that was an urban legend. nm

Those come from an old urban legend email

Agree with above 2 statements. sm

I also think the lack of quality of some MTs has reflected badly on all MTs.  All MTs are thus stigmatized, looked down upon and we are not considered to be the professionals that we are and thus the whole industry has suffered.

Dubious of company statements
I noticed this trend -  when any "protective" software I have is fixing to expire soon, suddenly I supposedly have all kinds of dangerous viruses and corrupted files - and am warned a few times a day that my system is going to implode and I can only avoid complete and utter destruction if I renew my contract or upgrade to their better and more expensive virus coverage.  But when I delete their expired software and move on to another company, they don't find anything wrong with my system....until their free trial is ending soon, then the doom and gloom reports start again.  The one real virus I got was while I had McAfee - and it somehow escaped their notice.  I dumped McAfee a long time ago - but they still email me regularly trying to lure me back with paranoid propaganda.
The above are confirming my previous statements
Cannot leave the children but yet going down the drain unable to make a living. Sounds really smart to me.
Actually, Snopes says it is in October.

RACCOONS got mine, and I live in an apt. in an urban area!
(Little buggers left their pawprints all over my front door, too!) :(
Back your statements other then deluded and demented.

That is a scam!! It is on snopes. It will not work
because it was posted by another gas company so you will buy from them!!
I just love it! Snopes authenticates it.

Good thing you kept all your wage statements. You'll have
a fight but at least you have the proof you'll need.
Snopes is a great resource for stuff like this . . sm
I'm always leary of hearing things like this, so my first stop is usually snopes.com.  They list all sorts of urban myths and legends, as well as some true stuff that might surprise you.  In response to this particular topic, nope, not true, false, don't think so, etc...
Okay...say Snopes is correct and it's a rumor started by a gas company...
How does the gas company that started the rumor know everyone will flock to them?

I buy my gas from the station that posts the lowest price, and not necessarily twice in a row. I may buy from Kroger, Walmart, or some other company, but they're always selling for several pennies below the big companies.

False. They are training everyone for it but
LMAO,oooh gawd, you're just killing us here! LOL

False advertisng ..........
How can a company brag about their ability to meet or exceed HIPAA regulations if they offshore?  There is just no 100% way they can guarantee such a thing because once it leaves this country, there are no laws governing those things in another country.   To me that is just false advertising and very misleading to their customers, whom I question even know it is leaving these shores.
unfortunately not false advertising.
It says UP TO $60K. When I worked FT, I made that much. Ahhh, those were the days!
MQ-True or False about Work

Can this be true???? My girlfriend who works out of the Ohio office left me a message saying that she had gotten a message over the week end from the Ohio office with the following incentive: For every 10 reports that you typed, you would receive 25 dollars--IS THIS POSSIBLE with all the rest of us out of work in Amherst--if there is so much work in Ohio, why are we not helping???

What you're saying is completely false.
Salary.com

Enter "Psychology" as your key word. Lowest I found in my area (Philadelphia, PA) was 62 grand a year. Plus just the respect that one gets from having a college degree is worth it!

Go back to school. I'm taking Psychology as well and can't wait to get off this dead-end life of MT.
"Faux" is French for false. - nm

Not to give you false hopes, but I actually
got my period for about 3 months with each of my 3 pregnancies. I also had faint lines on my pregnancy testers. I'm sure there are others out there who have had periods as well - just tune into your body for other symptoms of pregnancy - i.e. I always also suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum instantly and for 9 months for all 3. Yuck. Good luck to you! Keep the faith!
We have had to endure so many of their false alarms about warnings
that no one pays attention to any of them, including those that are obviously going to be a danger.  People are tired of being told to live in fear of everything, so they ignore it.
I agree - it is a false sense of security.

There are pedophiles everywhere that aren't registered.  I just can't believe that the laws aren't tougher on these people.  Anybody could come up with $500 bail - that's like a slap on the wrist.  This guy has made me very uncomfortable for a long time.  Last Thanksgiving when we were out of town, he strung Christmas lights all over the house to "surprise the kids,"  and he brings them over Christmas presents every year.  Thank God I have never let my children be alone with him.  The next time my husband tells me I'm over-protective, I'll be sure to bring this up!  Really, is there such a thing as over-protective in this day and age?

Not false info. I'm telling you we just changed this! lol
No more M-Tec and Andrews.

Could this be termed false advertising. Seems like a lot more people on the other board are saying
the same thing about MQ. If she is so religious as you claim why would she steer people to a company to have them not be able to pay their bills. Seems a bit odd to me.
Me, too. Only if I send receipt do they know it was read. False information.

You can also charge her with "filing a false report" with police.
The police offered us to do that against our neighbors because they call the cops on us any time we even have relatives over for our childrens' birthday parties. It's not like we get rowdy and drunk. We sit on the deck and eat food for two hours. Oh, dread.

Sue the wench in civil court. Call the police and ask them what you can charge her with.

So totally and completely false! Plenty of employers test who are not partners with top 3!

Depends on what kind of hospital? Large urban hospital or small community hospital? SM

Also, is it a large teaching hospital? If so you have to consider there will be A LOT of different residents dictating, usually a lot of ESLs at teaching hospitals, and the residents rotate out and new ones rotate in every summer. So you can't expect to get the same dictators and build up your macros because the dictators change all the time.

I would say 9 cpl would be a pretty good offer for a small to medium community hospital where you will be doing the same dictators on a daily basis.  But for bigger, urban or teaching hospitals I would want at least 12 to 15 cpl.

Tiny statements from a tiny mind.

We are trying to figure out how to get out of this screwy place without being screwed any more.

had a similar issue with TWC and they had done some upgrades and the modem I had was no longer compatible.  The tech knew what the problem was the minute he saw the modem, only it took me about 3 months and threatening to cancel for them to get out here.
No brainer here. Stop payment on first check before you issue 2nd check.

DID you check with Social Security& does your son receive a check???

Go to SSA.gov and research the payee options.  You may have to use the search engine, but your answer to this particular issue should be there.

I am disabled and while my kids were minors, I had to fill out a form each year on how I, as the payee spent each and every penny of the money they received.  I don't see how his mother can justify how she spent his money for things that you normally would pay.

That said, he is getting Social Security right?  Is your son receiving a dependent check?  Under law, if a parent is disabled and has minor children, each and every one of those children also receive a check until they turn 18 or graduate from high school, which ever comes first.

The check is a percentage of your husbands, so for 800.00, your son should receive at least 350.00.  If you have not been getting this, they would pro-rate it back to when your husbands disability started and that in itself, could solve a lot of your financial problems.  You can also find this out on their website,  HTH

no - don't check out wildblue. check out hughesnet. sm
i was on wildblue. i absolutely HATED it. i paid $400 for install and equipment and bill was $51.51 a month for smallest plan. no bills, had to be direct debit from credit card or bank. wasn't a lot faster than dial up and i frequently went over my download limit so i had to upgrade to the $80/mo plan. speed was no faster on their "fastest plan". they had a 1-yr contract and only 1-yr warranty. well 20 days (kid you not) out of warranty my tria (the eye on the dish) went out and it cost me a total of $275 for replacement and tech call (had to wait a week and a half before tech could come and then he no showed and rescheduled for the next day stating he didn't have the equipment he needed to fix me and the repair order had been in for over a week by that time. no call to say he wasn't coming either, just no showed). they TRIED to sell me the entire package all over again to get me locked into another 1-yr contract and i declined. it was best in their book so your warranty and equipment would be "new". i had to tell them for 5 months to change which credit card to debit from, never could get it right. had to tell them for 3 months when my phone number changed. i could not wait until the day my 1-yr contract was over. have heard really good things about hughesnet. i think it is a tad more a month, but supposedly a lot faster than wildblue and not near as many problems from what i have heard from others. wildblue was down for an entire week at one point throughout the year i was on it. always got lost signals and page cannot be found multiple, multiple times throughout the day. i used wildblue with VPN (with transtech) and could not keep a connection enough to get a decent line count as i was dropping signals too much and it did slow it way down. i finally got clinic work rather than acute care where time and speed wasn't a factor. research message boards for complaints about wildblue and hughesnet before deciding. also hughesnet i think told me a 2-yr warranty rather than only the 1-yr with wildblue.
Check the classified board here and check

My check was for over $400, but certainly does not
come close to the money I have lost since going on docqscribe.  I think corporate should provide us with the statistics they used to arrive and this amount.  The @#$#@ crooks!
