If you are an employee, your employer must adhere to the state law that the employee resides in.

Example: MedQuist's offices are in New Jersey. However, we have employees in all states. Where there are state laws or regulations regarding pay, overtime, schedules, any issue not covered by or not superceded by federal law, it is the employee's state of residence (not MQ's office residence) that determines the applicable laws.

You can call your state's labor board and make a complaint.
