QA question !

Hello all ... I work p/t at home for a MT service. Our QA lady sends me emails about everything I do wrong.  I know that's her job ... and some of it has been informative for me. Even though I've been an MT for 15+ years, she's a stickler for the little things, such as:

1. After a period at the end of a sentence, only ONE space before new sentence. 2. No hyphens after pre, post, peri, non, etc. SHe sent me a list of rules for this.    3. 82-year old female - hyphen between 82 and year.                                           4. If more than 1 diagnosis, change heading to DIAGNOSES.                              5. p.o., not po; q. 4h.  not q4h      b.i.d., not bid    20 mg   not 20mg                     6. No abbreviations in any diagnosis list ... and write abbreviation in parentheses as well.  If doc says GERD, type gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD)

First - are the above items practiced by you guys on a daily basis?  Or is this being petty?  I mean 15 years for hundreds of different docs, hospitals, services - and no one has ever addressed the above with me, or any of my colleagues.

But here's the best: the service I work for also works for the hospital I work on-site for.  I've recently been looking at the reports beng sent back.  The Transcriptionist was guilty of all 6 items above!  All her reports were sent to the hospital with the above 6 'sins'.  Then I began doing some research ... I checked the serivce's main sytem from home.  I checked the transcription for several girls, at several facilities.  Yep - you guessed it.  All of them were not adhereing to the above regulations.

So how do I handle this?  Technically, the above rules I should abide by.  But no one else gets thee petty emails except me?  How would you guys handle this?

Thanks, SusieQ
