Mine is fine....
But about a week ago it was totally messed up. Maybe yours is having a delayed reaction.
Mine is working just fine.

I can use internet with just fine with mine, (nm)
x
Not necessarily...mine are older and I do fine as I mentioned above.
For toddlers...a great way to deal with it is to get them one of those "kid computers" and a stack of paper to draw on..as well as other activities (leap pad) and put them right next you at a desk.
Mine is working fine and turning purple...
.
mine is fine...sounds like a monitor resolution thing--
or perhaps, did you download an antivirus update or something. maybe your video card acting up?? just suggestions.
I am happy with mine...the price was right and it works just fine. No need for pricey laptops IMO.

I did try to save the file first but it wouldn't even let me save it.

How errors are counted
Unfortunately, there isn't a universal way of counting errors to quote a per cent accuracy. Basically, where I work, 98% accuracy would mean there were 2 noncritical word error in 100 lines (not characters).

When you hear quotes of alleged 95% accuracy in speech recognition, it probably means 5 errors in 100 characters, not lines.

Again, with offshore companies claiming 98% accuracy, who knows how they are counting?

But you are right, we all make errors, and I have seen stupid ones in my own reports that I would have felt bad if I hadn't caught them. I am sure doctors sometimes get laughs out of our bloopers the same way we get laughs out of theirs.

IC - 8-10 cpl but line is counted

The main factor really with IC work is the flexibility.  So many companies offer IC positions, but they want you to work certain hours - wrong, wrong, wrong!  JMO.  It is so funny because I sit and think, "wow", "I can work online and not have to go anywhere", but it sure is nice to go old-school once in a while and throw a tape in the old microtranscriber and type away making $$$ out the ying-yang.

The original poster got me, and that's what counted!
Sorry to disappoint, but she got my point!
How about counted cross stitch
I've been doing it since I was 16-17 yrs old and it is the one thing I constantly go back to after doing anything else crafty.... just so relaxing
Don't overuse but have to blank and counted off for it?
Right now am really bumfuzzled as I do not know in my MTing career if this has happened before. I was just told from a company where I have worked for some time that blanks are counted off. I do not just leave to be leaving, absolutely cannot make out and really taken aback to be truthful. Do most places do this to their MTs? Is this just another way to make their pockets fuller?
MQ not paying for spaces -- just manually counted and it don't add up

anyone know?  Just went from straight line count to DQS...

used to type 500 lph, now barely 150 lph....

AND NO COUNT FOR SPACES....

DAMMIT, THAT'S A KEY STROKE

Gross lines are not counted in characters.
A gross line = any number of characters on a line counts as a complete line. The actual number of characters per line will vary.
If you are typing in Word or WP, every character will be counted.
If you are being paid by keystroke, that would be different, like the other poster said.

I once worked for a company that paid per 1,000 characters.

My beginning rate was $1.25/1,000 characters (0.00125/character) which was the same as 0.08/line.

I was gradually raised to $1.85/1,000 characters(0.00185/character)which was the same as 0.12/line.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
line counts are counted within the report
and depend on how it is set up. They can vary the line lengths and also whether or not it counts blank lines. There is no spellchecker. I think the most important thing to learn is whether or not you sign on through a Citrix server. In that case, you will more than likely get lag, which will kill your radiology line count.
If the names are in the header they won't be counted by Word. nm

Well, counted my lines for first hour and I made
602 at 4 cents = $24.00 for the hour. Not bad, huh?
It doesn't sound right to me. That one MINOR error should only be counted
as 1/2 point because it's not critical to patient care.
If they have access to how the lines are counted on the back end - see inside
They can go in and maybe make changes to what their counts actually were.  Anything is possible.  It does sound fishy to me.  I would go to your supervisor and ask in such a way as could the other girls possibly show you any tricks they are using that might benefit all of you and open up communication that way.  That way you are not accusing anyone of anything.  Worth a try.
Not included. Demos and ccs are headers/footers. Not counted. nm

post thumbs down votes aren't being counted
If you've tried to vote thumbs down on the two posts by computerboy advertising illegal downloads of Stedman's items, you'll be interested to know that the forum is instead counting them as "thumbs up" votes.
I have a gender problem when I type! Seems everytime I get my QA eval I always get counted off

because I've typed he instead of she or his instead of her.  It drives me crazy!  I always pass with at least a 98%, but I'm always making this mistake and I feel like an dunce every time I see it on paper!

I know how it happens.  I'm just not paying attention and I'll just forget its a he or a she or I'll forget what patient I'm on and think I'm still on the "the lady with the pelvic pain..." and type she when really it's a he.

Anybody have any suggestions to help me remember my genders?

Chars aren't counted in gross lines. If you have a 4-line paragraph...sm
you have 4 gross lines, no matter how long or short the sentences are. A heading on it's own line is 1 gross line. A signature on it's own line is 1 gross line. The date at the top of a document on it's own line is 1 gross line. Anything on a line going from margin to margin is 1 gross line, no matter how few or many characters, or if there are spaces or not, even if there's only 1 character on that line like 'A' for instance. Does this  help? :)
I thought Word counted blank lines using this method. I think the OP is looking for Abacus. nm

Funny! Mine is almost as large, and I don't mind cleaning mine!
It's no problem at all.  Besides, I'll take lots of oodles of square footage any day of the week over living in a sardine can!
save it for another day
Yes, I agree with you, but apparently some people are unable to NOT be rude, so I have decided to give it up for today..... it just takes to much energy to argue. Not to mention, they can't even grasp the fact that you and I are two DIFFERENT PEOPLE................. so, there ya go.

oh, and bye the bye, in the churches I grew up in Amen was a form of agreement.
Can you tell me how you save your
that it cannot be saved. I'm sure this is a no brainer and I'm making it worse by thinking too much about it - any help would be appreciated.
Will somebody save me?

Hi, deep trouble here.  Reorganized under my desk (bad mistake, I guess, although the cords are nice and lined up now) and when I plugged the C-phone back in it went crazy and now I get dial tone from handset, but that is all.  Can't find the manual after searching for hours.  Anyone know what might be wrong or if I need to reprogram this thing?  I went to their website, but it is down at the place where you sign in.  Of course!  Can't work, so need as much help as I can get.  Thanks in advance.

Even if you save yourself a
template, you still listen to the entire report and change the words as necessary. You don't leave it if that's not how it's dictated. Setting up your own template saves time & Keystrokes because a lot of times you will have entire sentences or sections the same, but you still must ALWAYS listen to the entire report & make any and all changes.

In addition to OPs, I also make macros for PEs, ROSs, etc., for dictators who usually are repetitive.
I always use RXList. com on the web and save
paper that way:)
Did you save the sound
Did you save that sound file on your computer? That has surely got to be a first!!

of grief. Get a reputable real estate agent and don't screw with these FSBO agents.  I promise that all they will do is take your money and won't really WORK to sell your house. That's the difference.  A REPUTABLE agent will work their butts off to sell your house.

Then seriously, save it to your desktop. That's it.

Save and print
I print and deliver, save on hard drive for one year and then on CD or zip forever it seems.  Finally went through and threw out files from 10 years ago.
Is there someway to save something
like the end of a letter. i.e. Thank you for the referral of the patient. Sincerely, Doc's name etc. He ends all his letters the same way. My niece said that somehow I could put that in my computer and just push something like F7 and it would automatically print that. Have any idea about this? Thanks!
Save as option
I do not use Word, but is there a save as option? From there it may give you options as to what type of file to save as. I think if you choose something like a text file, it may get rid of formatting, but not sure.
try save as and change to .wav

The answer is yes but always save
your files before you do any upgrade just to be on the safe side. You can open 2003 documents in 2007 and they open just like they always have. Word 2007 opens them in compatability form but that is not something you see its built in to the program. However, unless you save your documents as "Word 97-2003 Document" (already built in to the options of 2007 when you click save as or you can set it up to always do that) anyone else without 2007 will not be able to open them unless they have the compatability patch. Same with Excel documents.

I have both intances of 2003 and 2007 running on my computer and can swtich back and forth without any problems.

Feel free to email me directly with any other questions.
Tried that... and still doesn't save right or
load for my autotext. :(
I think the advice you got to get it, try it, save the
receipt was good advice. What do you expect. How rude.
Did you save any of the e-mails

If so, then just include that with a nice letter to your past employers about the fact that your working arrangement did not work out.

If that doesn't work, you may want to see if there is a way to sue her for defamation of character.  She has to have good grounds to be calling your previous employers.  Was this the lady at Seascript?  She seemed to have some problems, but I think she was getting help.

Save what? The normal.dot?
If you checked the option to prompt you to save the normal template, you will be asked if you want to save changes that affect the normal.dot. This can be formatted AutoCorrect entries, AutoText entries, macros, toolbar changes, and a few other changes.

If you clear the check for the prompt option, changes will be saved anyway and you will not get the message.

Or are you being asked to resave the normal.dot to another name? If that's the case, you have a problem.

Save the e-mails you get and, when you
get one from QA person B that contradicts what QA person A said in the old one, reply to B with a cc to A saying in a very nice and professional way that you had understood it to be such-and-such based on what A had told you before. This will start a dialogue among the QA folks and, hopefully, the correct answer will be found and published.
save your money...
I've used it before. The software they include on the cd is Express Scribe which can be downloaded for free on the internet.

I was thinking about buying the All 'n One kit too, but I found that it was cheaper to buy the foot pedal and headphones separately and download the software for free.

I'll tell you why: To save on TAT.
NM
For my company, I do not save any
patient files on my laptop, so therefore no breech of security is possible and I transfer the files over the internet, just the same as with my PC.
