I think you have it wrong.  An MT is part of the healthcare team and indirectely has as much input into patient care as the physician you are referring to.  Our primary responsibility is to chronicle that care so that the record, a legal document, equally as important as the laying on of hands, is THE verifiable source for the care the patient has received from the start of their life until the expiration note is complete and charted.  It is ALL ABOUT patient care .. and you best figure that responsibility into every note you type.
