Check Tripadvisor.com for reviews on St. Simons & Jekyll hotels. It lists lots of comments.

We have visited the area a few times & we prefer St. Simons. Jekyll seems to have become more rundown as far as hotels, but it is nice to ride bikes & walk on the coast.

We liked being able to walk around the Lighthouse & village area at St. Simons. You must have stayed at the Queen's Court down near the village, which is an older motel. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Plantation Village & it was nice a few years ago, but we had to drive to go downtown. We also got a deal at the King & Prince once, which was very nice.

I remember there was an Inn near the lighthouse at St. Simons also - don't remember the name (might be Inn at St. Simon Lighthouse or something). We checked it out when we were leaving the area & the room looked fine, but we haven't stayed there. We liked the fact we could have stayed there & would have been able to walk to the lighthouse & village. We liked the restaurants at St. Simons also.

Good luck!
