All is write with the world now.

Seriously, though, can we let the poor woman vent without picking on her grammar?

Yes, I've tried it. It's very sweet, almost too sweet. sm
And it does cost a little more, but I should really use that for my coffee. Thanks for reminding me!

I see you are caught in

already.

In some offices you continually run out of work - and MQ gives you

no policy in writing as to what your rights are or what they will

provide in the way of "buffer".  All they do is say "we can give you more

accounts".

Well, sitting in front of a computer 24 hours a day and still not finding

enough work on dozens of accounts is not being a good business

person.

Having an account or else built in protection for times when there is no work

is BEING A GOOD BUSINESS PERSON.

Even if you are an employee, and there is no work, suddenly you find you

are RESPONSIBLE for the huge medical insurance bill - for several pay periods "because you didn't meet your line requirement"

I'm telling you, this company needs to either standardize it's politicies and

be up front with what they do, or forever go through the system as being

utterly slippery and underhanded, and deserve the reputation they so

deservedly have right now.  Of course they have their own agenda and could

care less about posters like me who have been through the drill until I was ground

down into the ground and broke, because they are "using" MTs to position themselves into the world of VR.  And it will have been done on the backs

of many MTs who lost it all thinking at some point MQ would finally "do right"

They haven't and probably will never.

So my advice is, if you can't get some policies in writing from whereever possible

(New Jersey just flips you off, so don't waste your time there), don't invest too

much in this company as you will be at their mercy and feel like you are never on solid ground financially.  It is not a company to work for if you need the

money for a living.  It is merely to pick up pocket change.

What caught my eye was sm
"it's a teaching hospital". Been there, done that. Get ready for ESLs that change every year. You might like it, but you'll earn every cent. On the plus side, you'll learn so much more than with a nonteaching hospital, which is good. Let us know what you decide.
AVG has caught several
viruses. I also run online scans on sites like Trend Micro, Panda, etc., on occasion just to double-check the effectiveness of AVG & make sure it hasn't missed anything. I've been using AVG free for about 10 years I guess and, like I said, AVG has caught several viruses and I've never once had a crash or lost anything in all these years due to viruses, and I've turned all my friends and family onto AVG free & they've never had any issues with viruses, so I have to say that I'm extremely happy with it, especially considering it's free... Doesn't get any better than that! ;)
Absolutely, because if they are caught twice, they've probably done it

Maybe I caught him at a bad time or maybe he is
going through some personal problems in his life that he is carrying over into the workplace.  In any event, I could not foresee a good working relationship with this individual in the future.
You are offshore and got caught.

Missed most of it but what I caught was fun!!

My son is only 7, so he hasn't caught on yet
that I'm not talking to him. He still says "what" all the time...lol. So, I'll look at him and say, "do you know what flagginationalization means?" Cracks him up every time.
caught off gaurd

I started with a new company about 40 days ago - I trained on one account for about three days and the was given two docs to do with really no training only a manual.   I have been doing them for about 35 days.  My first QA score about ten days or so after the start of these docs was 96%,  my second on 5/20 was 98%.  I really have not gotten any negative feed back other than some format issues which were worked out quickly.  I have been meeting my TAT, proofing and covering what they asked.  There has not been any complaint that has been brought to my attention that I can pinpiont.  This past weekend, I got sent a whole bunch of work to help cover someone on vacation, my work was pushed back by my QA and supervisor.   Needless to say my accounts were not very happy and were not told in advance.  This evening I get a call from the supervisor saying that due to a call from the docs office about poor TAT and quality she was removing me from the account.  I have an email this same supervisor sent me from the docs office dated June 5 saying the account was finally looking up.   I asked the supervisor to pinpoint the issues but she was not able to at this time and told me to hold tight until she gets some more info.   I don't know what to think. Any opinions or suggestions???

Okay, I'm caught up to the posts below
.
I have no idea about his being caught but
working from home I kept my eye peeled for the report and checked every so often. You know the time frame as far as dictating- what 24 hours? This was 8 months later. If he did to me, well you know the rest. Like I said, he personally called me from another sister hospital 2 times and very incensed that I would even approach mediation at the hospital. Of course when I took my story there along with the documentation, he refused to comment on it, denying all. I at that time could not afford to lose my job so I could not press on with it. Called several attorneys and each one said no one would be on my side being as this was an elective procedure I chose and a face lift at the same time so dead end for me.
I don't think everything is caught - like the job resumes
with addresses like Mumbai, Hawaii.  Could it be a name, not a place?
Thank goodness you caught it and not QA
 thanks for the chuckle
LOL.... caught me off guard...
nm
I hope she's caught too...
I'm also 40-50 miles from this woman. I hope she's caught and put away for this. Thanks so much for warning us that this is going on.
It just caught me off guard. I really wasn't trying to
criticize. Sorry!
I only caught bits and pieces of it, but sm

I didn't see anything offensive that should generate such a stink.  My BIGGEST gripe is with people who come out hating something, expressing an opinion about something they have never even SEEN!

The little bit I saw, it looked like a man dealing with "normal" family situations -- let's face it, it is not unusual nowadays to have a gay son, or become addicted to prescription meds, etc. -- ministers are not immune.   I am a Christian and love the Lord, and I was not offended by anything on the show.  And even if I was, it is not my place to tell others what they can and cannot watch.  We all get to "vote" with the flick of a channel.

Thanks, will do. About 3 nights ago my Norton caught
Did you notice the Feb 3 date?  That would be this coming Friday.  Wonder how our various transcription companies are going to fare?  ugh.  I hope they don't crash.
My husband caught a doctor...sm

actually dictating in a hospital and heard him say at the end to scratch all that and started over! He felt so bad for the poor MT who would be doing him. He also was an extremely slow dictator, so it probably took her forever! He's also heard some fast dictators and would let them know after they finished that someone has to actually transcribe that. Go hubby!

Like a good MT, I caught MY mistake and

She took the safe way out. Rocky was fake and got caught
while the average joe is head over heels for this girl.  Could go either way, he might enlighten her in that a good guy doesn't have to be a total hunk.  Then again, she may be so shallow not to see that.  I think her mom did make an impression on her decision though.
hahaha! I've been caught red handed!! lol

Caught a bit of it on Fox ticker but no live coverage..
yet.   Where do you live?  How horrible for you and all the kids to have to go through a nightmare like this :(  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Food/medicine caught in throat
This very thing happened to me while eating pizza one day - I ended up in the ER because I could not get it out or to go down.  The ER doc ordered a chest x-ray (do not know why) and then sent me home with some Prilosec saying that I had esophagitis.  It was a rainy day - two dogs chased my car home and I was afraid to get out - plus I had my sister's four children that week, besides my own two.  I took a Prilosec and then had to have my husband rush to the pharmacy for some Benadryl - I was allergic to the dye - then, and I don't recommend this, I got a long-handled teaspoon - bent it and stuck it down my throat - retrieving the pizza dough.  I still had esophagitis because my throat was now inflamed from the pizza and the spoon handle - I put the chewed up dough in a ziploc and returned it to the ER for an explanation - of course they thought I was crazy - but you do what you have to do.  I have found that many doctors are either incompetent or on drugs (cocaine, meth, and others that they either sniff or smoke).  That is why there is such a high malpractice rate (but that's another story).  In fact, I see a doctor now who is a drug-abuser - but he prescribes what me or my family needs when we go to see him and we get well - but boy is he high - nice, though.  That's my take on the ibuprofen in your throat.
Thanks, MOMT. I have been known to sometimes get caught up trying to make my point, but... SM
I didn't think I was being rude.  Thanks again, I was starting to take it a little personal, but some people are just sensitive, I guess.
There is a $150 fine if caught working at home-sm
w/o business license. From 2002-2005 the fee was $50. Then city changed it and now have to take copy of tax return to City Hall and the fee is based on previous year's income. Woman in my Chamber of Commerce group was turned into the city by a rival and was fined.

Out of her dress today (instead of out of her dressing) but I caught it when proofing.

Now that's sweet!
You're raising a good bunch of kids!  As an Air Force mother, I say thank you for thinking of our boys!!  Tell your girls how much it means to us.
That was so sweet of you. Again, I am so sorry
for all this pain, and so sorry for your sons. Absolutely horrifying experience, and absolutely no other way to word it.  But, time does help. I know that's so corny, but it does. I understand crushing pain. I have 2 way older siblings. My Mom had me after she thought she had menopause - a late in life baby? Well, my siblings were so jealous of me since my conception, I guess. Long story short, it was like we were 2 separate families, but I was the one who stayed close by and took care of my parents when they were elderly. One day my mom had a stroke and was taken to the hospital. Did my Dad call me? No. First time in his life he went to the older 2. They had planned this, or plotted it, and told my Dad NOT to call me. No reason, just don't. He is very old and feeble in his 90s, so he obeyed them. Long story short, my mom died a hideous death - her primary said she would have recovered probably back to 80%, but my siblings wanted her dead. They refused all supportive care and they shipped her to a nursing home. MY FRIENDS worked at the hospital, and I'm surprised I didn't transcribe her report, as its my account, too. But nobody could call me do to HIPPA. In the meanwhile, when I spoke to my Dad, he just acted like my mom was resting and all was fine. My sister gladly called me, all giggling, when my mom was dead and even CREMATED. Not my mom's wishes. She never had a funeral even, no obituary. And she was a nice mom. Did not deserve that. At least she had a plot, and some stranger with a shovel buried her sometime in the winter -  3 months after her death. Wow! All this to say, I know pain and shock as well, and time does heal. I was in a shock-like state for about a year, and then it started to clear. Now its been 5 years, and I can talk about it. So, talk, talk, talk. Its good to talk about it. And, yes, my husband and I have had very dear friends and relatives take their own lives. Over 20 years ago now, and its still sad, but not as painful. One thing for sure - I will always be thinking about you guys, and wishing you well.
How sweet!!
When we got "Lolli," our Pomeranian, she weighed a mere 1.25 pounds. Just a black puff of fir and the sweetest little thing. The vet told us to feed her Gerber baby food, which we did. I used to love to get her all the beef, chicken, and veal dishes, with the little chicken sticks and blueberry buckle for dessert! Boy did that little girl like to chow down!

But chicuhas's (sp) are my FAVORITE little dog. I used to have a precious female short-haired teacup whom I named Consuela Conchita D'Alfina. What a baby!
wow, that is sweet! (nm)

Sweet!

KS and TM, you are both very sweet.....

I was actually so upset by the posters below that I broke out in hives!!!  Can you imagine???

I have been struggling to switch to Word from DQS and Word Perfect.  I have been reading Windows for Dummies.  I have been searching through the Word Help Index, etc., etc.  I have been struggling to make some kind of line count that adds up to over $7 an hour during this "learning" process.  I thought for sure I could post a quick question and get a short and quick answer to help me along but I guess not.  The last thing I needed today was someone trying to teach me to fish or trying to teach me how to do proper research.  I KNOW how to research, it was not working for me fast enough, and I just needed a quick short cut.

I do believe * what comes around..... * and I believe you two will get good things in short order.

BTW, the short, to the point instructions JAM emailed me - i have been using over and over this evening and have been saved SO MUCH time  and aggravation, as opposed to Ctl-Delete for every word I want removed!   Blessings on her/him also.

See URL. This is sweet.

Wow, that's so sweet of you!
I wish I could apply for unemployment but independent contractors don't qualify. My status was IC for the past four years. Hope you find something soon, too! I did wind up going back to school to become a teacher, but I still need a steady income until I graduate in a year. Something will kick loose soon.
yes she is sweet, isn't she?

Thank you, how sweet!
It is now 9:15 and system still down.    I hope it's not going to be much longer . . . . . .

I saw a very sweet documentary....
the other night about chickens. One of the segments was about a man who had installed about 250 roosters on his property, presumably for cock fighting. Anyway the racket the roosters made all throughout the day was deafening and driving his neighbors (none too close, as this was a rural area in Ohio I think). Finally all the residents of this area took the guy to court and got a court order for him to remove the roosters. Maybe a lawsuit is the way to get rid of the yapping dog problem!
awww!! How sweet! (sm)
I only wish I would write half as eloquent a post praising good QA personnel.

I work on a platform now where I can easily and quickly go back and listen to my blanks after completing the report just to see if they are any more clear. It's incredible what I can actually fill in on some of the more difficult dictators when I'm at the end and the voice characteristics are more familiar. However, before this platform, who knows what kind of blanks I left!!

I'm sure QA likes me more now LOL.

You are very kind to take the time to post this. We all appreciate it!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm starting a long night/morning shift in ESL-land! ;-)

Thank you again!
That was really sweet, Wannie.

Kids are sweet!

Three of my grandkids were here to spend a week with us.  They are ages 9, 6, and 4.  I had forgotten how earnest they are at that age, how sweet & sincere.  They argued over who got to help me open the gate to our driveway when we went out (we live in the boonies).  We ended up taking turns.

A conversation with the 6 y/o:  "Grandma? This is funny, right? You know James? In my class? He brought Cheetos and I brought Fritos.  Get it? Cheetos & Fritos? That's funny, right?"

I am trying to enjoy them as much as I can before they get to that teenage, who-wants-to-go-to-grandma's phase.

Awww..thanks. That's sweet.
I already got hugs a plenty from my hubby. I don't go that way, but thanks for the sentiment. :::smooches:::
