In Reply to: they better hang onto you! - dawn

Dawn, what a sweet thing to say. :) You made my day. Thank you!

I was told right in the beginning by the OM  that the one doc is the one I needed to be most concerned about "making happy" (and she is not easy to please). This very same doc told me about a year ago when I happen to see her in the office that I just had "to be a saint!" :D It made me feel SO good. I never hear whether I am doing good/bad or what, ya know? I do strive to do my best. I try to give them 24-hr. TAT but I have the option of 48-hr. mainly due to the amount of dictation I can get in a day. I get a LOT of lines from them. I charge what the going price is in our area that I last heard of a year ago anyway from another OM of another office that wanted to hire me (based on the recommendation of my OB's office OM). :) I had to decline the offer due to personal reasons at the time.

I have had the MA that I talked to today tell me before not to worry about "losing them" as they are very happy with me. I am happy with them as well. They are great dictators, easy lines, interesting work, and pay is always on time. I guess something must be going right since I have been with them for 10 years now. :) I feel fortunate.

I have to add too, when they first took me on as an IC MT, the OM had me bring the transcription directly to her the first few days and she was totally just flabbergasted and amazed that I was able to return the transcription the next day. They had an in-house MT that apparently did not provide them with the transcription in a timely fashion to say the least. That MT did get another job before she would have been let go after they hired me. That always made me feel kind of guilty but I guess I really shouldn't.
