Thanks to both of you, especially to you Boo2. I didnt post it in my original message but I was 11 years old when my father died and I remember being kind of lost in the shuffle of everyones grief. My mother though was the type that thought her kids should attend all funerals, so by the time my father died I had been to quite a few, with the first being a year or so younger than my daughter. It was my grandmother and it terrified me to see her (open casket).

So I do want my daughter to be there for her friend, as I remember what it meant to me, but I also don't want to scare her. I have no idea if there is an open casket, and I did speak to her about that fact, but she says it is okay.

So I believe I will go with my gut and take her...and follow her lead. I am very proud of her for wanting to be there for her friend.

Thanks again for your kind words and your insight.

God Bless..
