Oh, I believe you. I just couldn't find it. sm
And I didn't want to believe it. Thank you.
I couldn't find it either at first.
Someone else gave me the link. Good luck!
still couldn't find this, Either having
another of my senior moments, or just too late for me to concentrate. Can't find anything that says word count...uhggggg
went onto foxnews.com and couldn't find it
i'll keep looking b/c I am interested in hearing the story! Thanks!
Sorry I took so long but couldn't find my glasses :)

I can't afford new glasses, let alone Lasix.  Also Lasix only corrects one or the other (near or far).  I suppose if I could afford it, I'd go for near (being able to see clearly in the distance).  However, I have looked into not only the cost, but the fact that they actuall cut your cornea part way off, do the surgery underneath and then reconnect your cornea.  I'm like EEUUUWWW, I don't think so!

I'm my husband's ears and sometimes he's my eyes.  I'll say, "HONEY, JIM IS ON THE PHONE!"  and he'll say "Honey, watch out for that curb."

We have a sense of humor about these things, fortunately.  He does read lips very well and I have gotten myself into trouble on occasion when I was mad at him. :)

couldn't find an English newspaper...sm
and was newly preggers......I ran around Marseille looking for the International Tribune which was an English newspaper (still is) and then did a scrapbook in tribute to John and I still have that.
I couldn't find link to mine.

Yours is quite similar.  I didn't want another leather chair because of the sweaty butt syndrome (you think numb butt is bad?) and it gets pretty hot most days down here.  I like my new chair quite well.  we'll see next Saturday after I have sat in it for 40+ hours.

When I worked in house they bought these super-fancy mesh type chairs that were supposed to be so ergonomic.  Well, the arms got in the way, they were hard on your behind, but they got them and they were EXtremely EXpensive.  didn't get what WE wanted, we who had to sit on them, they got what THEY wanted.  Oh wait, they still have jobs there.  WE don't.  Maybe they  knew something long before the axe fell.

Same thing happened to me. The caller couldn't even tell

After being told by my supervisor that the possibility of me getting paid less money for doing the editing for voice recognition, I immediately brushed up my resume and headed out the door.

You couldn't be more wrong. Here is the worst thing about posting on a forum...SM
All too often, I have a difficult time expressing myself here because I'm posting quickly in between typing reports. It can truly be difficult if not impossible at times to express yourself when all you have is text. Many times (for me anyway) what I write is taken out of context and misconstrued because on a forum you don't have the benefits of tone of voice, facial expression, and/or body language. That is what has happened here.

If you had the opportunity to meet me, my daughter, and husband, I have no doubt that you would take back such a presumptuous insult.

When I used the word "fear" the meaning I had in mind apparently was not taken in the context it was meant to be. For example, if I don't meet TAT for my supervisor, I would have a fear of being reprimanded, losing my account, etc. Another example: My husband was just promoted to a QA manager over a department of 12. His biggest fear is being late because he no longer has 1/2 hour flex-time to start.

Trust me, my daughter is a very secure, outgoing, happy, content child. Very, very rarely do we even have to raise our voice at her. She's never been grounded and is an honor roll student. She is very responsible and obeys out of love. Her biggest "fear" is knowing she has hurt or disappointed us. Maybe anxious would be the more appropriate word.

When I first posted about some children having to be scared into obedience, from what I have witnessed this is true. Time out doesn't work on every child. My sister has the absolute two worst children I know. She has tried every avenue of discipline and the only way to get their attention is to threaten them with a spanking. So can we agree in this context that the "fear" of a spanking is ultimately what makes them behave??

I'm a wonderful mother and my daughter and I have a very strong bond.

Hopefully I have gotten my point across and CPS won't be stopping in.
Thank you Darlene and BeNice!!
Appreciate the b-day wishes!  I think I'll just use PTO and write this one off . .  oh, well.  I have had quite an excellent b-day anyway.  Maybe it was supposed to work out this way!
You are in a global market now Darlene. If she doesn't do it, someone overseas will.

I can't even find this thing online nm

I find myself doing the same thing and am open to suggestions too. NM

How I job-searched
Last fall, after nearly 28 years with a local office (and 36 years of experience in all) I found myself having to look for a new job when my boss closed down his practice. I searched local jobs (nothing) and online MT job boards (mainly the jobs board here at MT Stars). I applied for, I think, 31 different jobs all told. My biggest problem was that half the companies wouldn't even allow me to test because, despite 36 years of experience, it was entirely clinical, and I couldn't even get arrested in acute care.

The last day of my job hunt, I went through the "companies" section of another board (MT Chat, as it happened) and looked up every company that got good reviews. If they had a means of applying online, I did it. (Companies that either got out-and-out bad reviews, or for which the only response was a curt "I sent you a private message," I ignored.)

I sent out 14 applications, tests and/or resumes that day. As it happened, the very LAST company I applied with (and I took their test at the end of a very long day, so I was TIRED) just happened to have a suitable opening, and I was hired the very next day. They weren't even advertising; I had applied "blind" via the "careers" section of their website.

And after some of the horror stories I've read on this board and others, I consider myself very, very lucky. Every single promise made by this company has been fulfilled, including the promise to "up-train" me into acute care.

So hang in there, and keep trying. You might want to try my method of applying "blind" to companies that people are happy working for. It takes some research and time; but it's well worth it, because the stakes are so high.
Have you searched for these on google?

 I don't think I'd try them.

Avatars can be searched on sm
yahoo, but to fit on this site as a profile ID they must be only 100 x 100 or no more than 12 kb as hayseed says.  Go on www.yahoo.com, and then search avatar for message board or message forum.  I still have not figured out how to crop a true pic of myself down to 100 x 100, but I will eventually.  The rest, hayseed has in her post.  You avatar will post as long as you fill in Profile ID when posting.
Tough situation. Have you searched the ads and

applied with the companies who have been advertising ER accounts?  I know I just saw 1 this past month or so.  I do believe there is a good place for you; it'll just take digging and time.  I would absolutely refuse to do so many different unless in the same field.  Right now I have probably 15 different docs but all in the same field so it is not bad.

I have no idea how anyone makes 50K+ unless they are tied to the computer day and night....not my choice or my life.

Good luck and I hope you find some sort of resolution to this.

I knew I saw this a few pages ago and searched for you.
Here's a link
Just searched and yuck is right! How digusting. nm

I searched by patient name today as I needed
to find a medication that the patient was on. So I searched patient name and pulled up the H&P for the visit to check what medications had been listed on admission to help me figure it out. Great feature.
I had head if you were connected to a VPN your computer could be searched without your knowledge ??
nm
Have you searched the board for posts on this company recently?
1
I've searched and not all Dell laptops have the parallel port.
So I just wanted to check to see more specifics from those who have. Thanks.
go to chat room on web site and find out. i'm working but if you find out, let me know.
creepy dude.
I find most of my abbreviations here. Scroll all the way down until you find the abbreviation box.

I just had one who couldn't
pronounce the simplest word, like catheter. He does cardiac caths all day every day, and can't even pronounce the simplest terms for his specialty! They shouldn't be able to graduate like that.
Saw my name and couldn't help myself here...

I'm among the 200-odd people who visit every day but don't wanna post because, well, it just doesn't seem right.  But, seeing as I saw my name in black and white up on the screen, I just couldn't stop my fingers from typing.

I wicked miss all the jibber jabber, work related and nonwork related.  I miss the usual faces, the usual arguments, the good times, the bad times, the times when I swore some people were on the rag...

I too got privately disciplined by the former MTStars staff for my potty mouth, got mean e-mails from people who called me a hick, and got awesome e-mails from some great people out there...and I miss it!  All of it!  The good, the bad, and the ugly.

We had our little domain name "stolen" a few years ago when we didn't renew it in a timely manner, so I kinda know what it's like.  Except ours wasn't a business, just a place where friends and family that we left behind could see what we were up to.  The web host kept all our hard work and wouldn't relinquish it because they claimed it was technically theirs...I'm not 100% sure, as I'm not the technical person of the household, but I know that basically we had to start from scratch.  You kinda feel violated in a weird way.

I'll keep checking for the "other" MTStars to see if it's back up and running, but for now I'll just hang out here and wait.  My personal stuff is all over cyberspace, so I'm not concerned about identity theft or anything like that.  Who in Sam Hain would want my life anyway?!

you couldn't pay me enough.
I was offered a job managing an office that sent all the work to the Philippines. I couldn't bring myself to do it. The manager job from the other board (if that's the one you're referring to)sends their work to India. As tough as times are now, I could not bring myself to take jobs away from American MTs even if it meant a decent paying job for me. Still hoping Obama will tax the heck out of these companies that offshore, but not holding my breath.
Ebonics: Not a black thing or white thing. (sm)

I don't think there's any cause to get upset or defensive here.  Look it up on line...even colleges are offering courses in Ebonics!  ...well of course they are more sociology-type courses, but still, people are PAYING to learn about the why's and how's of this "other" language.

A quote from one of the sites I found:

"UT-Austin's "Introduction to the Study of African American English," teaches students that the sentence, "Nobody didn't leave" is not "mainstream English with mistakes," but rather a legitimate English dialect. "Ebonics: Myth and Facts" and "African-American English" are both offered at Harvard. Penn and UCLA also promote Ebonics as a legitimate dialect in, "Introduction to African American and Latino English" and "Afro-American Sociolinguistics: Black English," respectively."

I couldn't have written it better myself...
Those are exactly my thoughts. Didn't work for Spheris or Medquist, but did work for Heartland before MDI. I am so happy I came to MDI. I am sure they are not perfect, but I think they are better than a lot out there.
I couldn't get it friday either.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Yeah, I complain, too, but basically this is the best job I have ever had and I can't think of too many jobs where I would the freedom that I do now. I am most thankful for this job (even with all the junk that goes with it). Hope everybody has a good day!
You couldn't be more wrong!
Only one poster here, DP, and that's all!!!

I'm not harassing anyone. I'm responding to the posts I'm sick of seeing. They have a right to complain...and so do I. Their complaints are about MQ; mine are about the whiners complaining about MQ. My right as well.

Good for you, if you're happy and a good producer!

I'm not pathetic. I'm tired of hearing it.

What's funny is that you think you know something about ME! You couldn't be more wrong!!!

How funny is that?!! Ask Admin to verify if my IP address is different from "No Whining"!!! ASK!! They'll verify that! I'm NOT the same person at all.

So, in answer to your question, I'll still be DP tomorrow too!! I'll make just as much money, as well.

:) Enjoy yourself!
Couldn't agree with you more!
I agree with you 100% - Well put!
I couldn't stand it with a

I had a good deal too, free rent, worked at home, vacations to where ever and whenever I wanted, limos and NYC every weekend, could pack up and go back to work at my mom's for 1 or 2 months at a time for my "family" fix.  I just couldn't keep doing it.  I packed up, came home and last week my GD turned as she walked from my front door to look at me and say, "Bye, Nammy!  I Love You!"  I got a better deal after all

I couldn't agree with you more!!! (sm)
We better bust our butts while we can to prove ourselves against the looming competition, if you know what I mean.
It is, but it couldn't happen to a better guy

I also think there are disgruntled MTs who couldn't cut it,
or didn't live up to their end of the bargain.  It goes both ways.
Well said! I couldn't agree more! (nm)

Couldn't Agree More
I couldn't agree with you more. I posted above stating my views.
I couldn't imagine.....
...holding the baby while typing. I have 15-month-old twins and THANKFULLY neither gave me that problem. I think if they had I probably would have tried every different toy bar for the bouncy seat or swing until something worked. Something comfy for her to lay against maybe. If nothing works and you can't manage typing and holding her then adjusting your schedule for when your husband is there would be my only thought. Good luck. Mine are giving me CLIMBING issues at the moment, oh brother!!!!!
yeah, you GOT it - I couldn't believe she was..

in all caps.....

Doxielady, you need to get a life!  Docs don't think they are kings - that would be GWB and GHB....*lol*

I couldn't agree with you more.

I couldn't disagree more..sm
I've been doing this for 17 years, and I shouldn't have to have a knack for understanding what someone is trying to say just because they are too self-centered to realize they are accomplishing nothing in terms of saving time by talking so poorly and so fast that most people can't even understand what they are trying to say. The whole point of talking is to express thought and communicate. If you aren't going to take the time or make the effort to be understandable, what's the point in even opening your mouth? These doctors have no business sacrificing the efficacy of communication while dictating highly technical medical and legal documents that affect the health and welfare of the patient population. And speaking of rendering excellent care, providing accurate and intelligible documentation of the care that has been provided is part of that so-called excellence. It's part of the service patients are paying for and wouldn't be getting if it were simply left up to these inconsiderate physicians. If I could, I'd slap every one of them up side the head.
