Thanks, but

I do what you suggest.  I do have various sentences as well (and chunks for various physicians), but those don't seem to be the real problem.  I make so many expansions for words, a couple words, a few words, that I have had to deviate from my pattern different ways.  (It's amazing how many ways the same thing can be said by adding an "s," leaving out "and," adding "the," transposing words, etc.  Plus certain letters seem be used much more.  (Off the top of my head, C words [& word combos] cause problems.)

It sounds as though I am doing the right thing.  It just seems that sometimes it does not work as smoothly as I feel it should.  I guess I will just have to use my own judgement on when to straight type (for a word or a few words in a row) and when to see if I have an expansion.  I do find I sometimes delete certain ones or change them if I see I keep trying one for something other than what I made it for.  When I first started, I made lots of them for words that were not worth making them for (because so unlikely to type again or very, very rarely).

Obviously, no one can be typing 100% in expansion (new things keep coming up if nothing else), but I am curious what percentage you all are typing them.  Also, you must waste some time trying one that you have not made (for words & combos you have not made them for yet).  It also takes time to create them while working.  They tend to stick in my brain better that way, rather than making them on off time.

Any other thoughts, comments?

Thanks again.
