I think I'm going to give up for this year, except maybe for the wild flower mix, although I wonder if it's too late in the season now.
This was a small patch of ground created when the city made all the corner sidewalks handicapped accessible and then put some spray-on grass that grew all weedy. I thought it would be nice to put flowers in there, even though I don't have a green thumb, but heck this is too much of a hassle!

Again, we have a lot of loose squirrels and a lot of loose kids around, as well as a considerable stray cat population and even the occasional raccoon, and I can't tell who the culprit is.
