That's exactly what I do...sm

Although I will answer the phone regardless of who it is because my husband is a volunteer fire fighter and is also on two local boards and often gets messages, etc. But if it's nothing important I cut to the quick and get off the phone. After so many years of doing this most all of my family and friends know better than to call me during my working hours just to chat, so that doesn't happen anymore.

My kids are grown and gone now, but even when they were still here, I generally worked while they were in school, but for those times when school was out or I had to work extra, the rule in the house was - unless it involves blood or smoke, I don't need to hear about it! teehee

I didn't work while they were small and I don't think I could have. I have many, many friends in the industry who have (or had) small kids while working from home and there are very few who can balance it out well enough to keep the kids happy... it's just not as easy as some people think it is and more often than not the kids are the ones who suffer.

So my biggest suggestion aside from things stated in the post by ''figured out'' is to not try to work when your small children are around.

I know that probably isn't the popular opinion around here as being an at-home MT is supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread for many stay-at-home moms, but unless you can work as an IC and really set your own hours and work at your leisure, or don't need a full-time income, it's not going to be easy. These days most companies want a commitment of lines per day and/or hours to be available for a shift, etc., and there isn't a lot of flexibility anymore, which is just not easy to do with little ones at your feet.

I wish you luck in getting back in the ''groove'' and settling into a nice routine. It can be done, but it takes a lot of hard work. Good luck!
