Same exact thing happened with me too...sm
Last week and this week.
The exact same thing happened where I used to
work - the verbal 'warnings', written 'warning', then termination. And of course, all based on bogus allegations of 'noncompliance' if you couldn't keep up with the impossible production goals, or the QA for which the specs were changed daily. And if you spoke up about it you were 'insubordinate'. I just wish unemployment were open-ended and could last indefinitely. If that were the case, I'd jump off this merry-go-round in an instant for an unemployment check. At least it'd be something I could count on, which MT, sadly, is NOT.
Exact thing happened to me when I worked at
a local hospital (on site).  The manager looked into it but nothing was ever done and it kept happening.  I ended up leaving and working at home - so far, so good after about 8 months on the job.  If people don't want to do ESLs they shouldn't be MTs.
Exact thing happened to me recently too, someone by the name of Marcia...

It was the strangest thing!  I cannot for the life of me figure out why she would invest so much time and effort, tell me she wanted me to start ASAP, and then never contact me again.  I refused to give her the satisfaction, though, of calling HER back!

The same exact thing happened to me and the seller refunded my money. He had done a horrible job
If you put it in a poster frame it may help.  It was for my daughter and she wasn't overly picky at the age of 10 and it was Hilary Duff I believe.
I am going ot be 40 soon and the same exact thing!
Glad to hear it's normal. For me I think it is from always having a lot on my mind and stress can probably do it too.
I have run into the exact same thing

Where I trained (OJT training) it was always disc.  The second job I had, my primary used disc and all the secondaries wanted disk.  At my current job every client (so far) uses disk.  It can drive you crazy learning to do something a different way for each client and trying to remember it all, switching between them all day!

This is why flexibility is key.  AAMT rules don't mean squat to many doctors, and some insist on their eccentricities so THEY can tell its their own report and not someone else dictating under their name (which happens plenty, and isn't always caught).  I've had many literally make up words which cannot be found in any dictionary, but they insist you put them in their reports because its their product and up to them what they want it to say.

So I'd say if you want to blame anybody for any bad habits MTs have picked up in their years of experience - point the finger straight at the clients!  With effort we CAN unlearn bad habits, but who's to say the next client won't insist we learn a few more?

I'm going thru the same exact thing right now....
I live on a busy road AND they are building a 3-story building across the street. I just ordered a sleep mask (hope it works). Right now, I just blacken the room with black/out curtains (still not perfect, slivers of light still peek thru and I need black.

I hate ear plugs, uncomfortable and don't really work.

However, what I have found that does work is one of those sound maskers (I use waterfall sound). I also have a box fan running (if it's too cold I just face it somewhere it won't blow directly on me. These too things, along with the room-darkening curtain liners seem to do the trick pretty well. I'm hoping the mask will help some more.

I've also heard people had good luck with those air-whooshing-type sound machines. Right now I just have one of those little ones that play a variety of sounds...waterfall, rain, tropical forest, etc.

Good luck!
I think I'm going through this exact thing now

I've been with this current company for over a year now, and suddenly I have been having a lot of 'strange' things happening lately.  The queues seem manipulated, I get jobs pulled back when I'm more than halfway through, my pay has been short, etc.  They say these are all mistakes or accidents, so they're making me feel like it's all in my imagination.  Can you tell me through email the name of the company he was talking about?  I would really, really appreciate it just for some peace of mind that I'm not totally paranoid here.

I think you should tell Dell that exact same thing
that you posted here ... about getting some guy named Bobby that can't even speak English! Let's not forget the hours of time you spend on the phone repeating sentences and questions over and over again.
I was told that exact same thing.
Even got it in writting. Very difficult account (marjority ESL) and changed my work types completely. However, 13 days later they sent out an e-mail (to the entire office - not just me) that if quota was not met then the benefits were gone. When I confronted them with this, I was told there was no exceptions. Needless to say, I spent approximately 8 hours of OT getting my quota (of course not paid OT, just the lines), as I also have got to have the insurance. If you have a good supervisor though, they probably will work with you.
YES YES ! Same exact thing. On the worst day you can't even
x
The big thing with them seems to be that it MUST BE in the EXACT same CONDITION as
purchase. I was on the end of returning and did get a timely refund.
I know how you feel. i did the exact same thing. sm
i recently took employee job too for the benefits and PTO but i am so used to not having a schedule that it has been really, really hard and also extremely hard to be productive with both accts. i am at the point i am not making either happy.

if with the employee job if you think you could earn more there in the long run and have more stability, i'd talk to them about your difficulties sticking to a schedule. if they found you to be a good employee, most will work with you on strictness with schedules.

if not and you are not really getting PTO and benes, the reason you took it to start with, why stay there when it sounds like you want the flexibility more? you didn't give reasons why you were treated unfairly. where they unhappy with your TAT or work or something to that matter that you could eliminate that happening in the future and consider how long ago that was. if it was a long time ago, i'd forget about it and stay there and make them happy.
I had this exact same thing - what worked for me SM

Just like the other poster suggested - I got another wrist gel pad and put it on the floor in front of my pedal - WORKED GREAT!  My heel was simply sore from rubbing on the hard floor and this has worked wonders for me.

I actually bought the long one, the one that goes in front of my keyboard so I don't have to worry about the little one sliding around and it has been one of the best things I've done.  No more heel pain for me!

I do the exact same thing... take breaks often..nm

I was just looking on this site for the EXACT same thing!!

same exact thing happens to me since I started coming here

My Golden does that same exact thing every evening at the
exact same time, 9:30 p.m. This usually happens after she is finished eating. We leave her bowl down 24/7 and she eats whenever she is hungry, so food never became an issue. She tends to eat mostly in the evening around 9 PM and she gets energy spurts right after. How funny is that!

She is 4 years old and still plenty active. She is my best buddy though. Awesome breed, would never want any other.

Labs and retrievers must have exercise every day. We walk for at least 30 minutes with at least 15 minutes of free run for her in an open field.

Love my Golden!

Exact same thing, transcribing and oblivious
and only 35 miles away from NYC. I finally got a call at 10 a.m. and could not work the rest of the day. Waiting to hear about a relative and other people I knew that worked there was extremely difficult. It was a day I will never forget.
Same exact thing except baked potatoes. NMsg
nm
Unbelievable how people have different definitions of the exact same thing
You said, "I just wanted to isolate myself at home on evenings and weekends".

A "social butterfly type" wouldn't have made that observation about herself. You made a decision to isolate yourself, which you of course have every right to do because most of us here do the same thing.
exact same thing, like excruciating to extremely grrr

Went through that exact same thing with EDiX. They sent that stuff overseas in a heartbeat, and the

Same thing happened to me.

If she is your boss, you really do not have much choice if you want to continue to work for her.  I subcontracted for an IC for 6 months and also used my Instant Text line counter, and she used the Word character count.  I had a rude awakening when I got my paycheck.  I really did not have a choice, and my opinion did not matter, as she was my boss, and I needed the experience.  I now have my own accounts, and use my Instant Text word counter.  I agree with you, a keystroke is a keystroke.

You are exactly right. The same thing happened to me and (sm)
I regret it. I also thought that it was the right thing to do at the time, but If I could go back in time I definately would have done something different. I also picture him or her at different ages and I also had 2 children later on.
Same thing happened to my son...sm
He was applying for a job through a placement agency, had just been put on antibiotics, sinus medication, decongestants and cough medicine.  He had a list of  the meds, but they said it didn't matter. If anything showed up at all they would not place him.
Same thing happened before, never
can it be documented, asked to see, no copy of which they speak.
Same thing happened to me
The same thing happened to me, at this company she wouldn't respond to my e-mails and I never did get my final check.  She told me I was unreliable too and said she would pay me a line rate and then didn't pay the line rate on my  check that she said she originally verbally agreed on.  They didn't owe me very much so it wasn't worth my while pursuing it and it was frustrating me so much I just chalked it up to a very bad experience.  Good luck I hope you have better luck than I did.
SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME
you know, i had the SAME thing happen, not that I was posting like you do, but...what I posted I was "called out " on...gee, wonder how that happened?????
The same thing just happened to me.
I found out I was typing something wrong for 14 years, and through all the jobs I have had and all the QA people who have reviewed my work, nobody ever mentioned it.  Kind of embarrassing.
Yes this has happened before, not a new thing
We are talking years ago, as in 1960s I applied for a job at telephone company, Bellsouth and was told I had passed their test and could have the job but would need to lose 20 lbs. They now would probably think I was a gob as we are talking probably 175 at the most compared to 200 now. This is not a new thing. What did she say that made you think more interested in girth? I Mine was really straight forward, no getting around that. There was nothing to be filed then because of what I might consider to be discriminatory. I think you are possibly feeling a little on the defensive and you said nothing about what actually happened when you worked inhouse. Being badgered, that can happy with any work situation, be you thin or heavy. Maybe it is how you are perceiving youself.
Same thing happened to me.
My biggest account, a group of 9 doctors went EMR a few years ago... Yup... it was all gone. I stayed on and did some scanning of old records into the ERM (at low office wage), until I found another MT job at home. Had to go with a National though, which has been a real adjustment as far as time management, etc., I was IC before, but pay was better than staying on being an "office girl". Anyway during the transition many promises were made about "no you won't completely be out of a job" etc. but as it turned out the amount of transcription that would have been done into the EMS system was not worth the trouble to even try to keep. And no way could I have done it on production, since the system they had was very cumbersome and "mouse" inclinded. They currently have an "office girl" typing in things. Yes, the EMR can be somewhat more efficient but the actual records are a mess.. I mean everyone is putting stuff into your chart/file... from the front office "just out of high school help" to the physicians...who lets face it, are very intelligent about being doctors, but are not quite up to speed on transcription, etc. But they just don't really care, it's more economical. Now when you go and see the doctor, basically you just talk to a bobbing head "nurse or doctor" who nods at you while they try to peck away the the keyboard.. Progress???
The same thing happened to me.

set up the outside company since you know the most about the work and supervisors, management, etc. do not.  Then, they outsource it all and that outsourced company offers you a job.  It happens time and time again.

The problem with in-house typists is that they must give you sick time, vacation, etc., and then the work does not get done.  So, by outsourcing, they have no need to worry about the overhead of these problems.  Sad, but true!

I was smarter and resigned before they used me up.  But of course, I was right, they outsourced it all, but I wasn't there to give it to C-Bay on a silver platter, so now the C-Bay has my in-house account and are doing a horrible job.  The techs are having to proof the work, and they certainly are not providing 24-hour turnaround.  Phewee on them.....

The same thing happened
to me, I did not find out until about 7 p.m. that night when I quit working and went in and turned the TV on.
The same thing happened to me

I worked in-house for a while and the files were clear as a bell. About a year after I left, I did some work for the same hospital and the files I received were staticky and distorted.

I didn't work with them long enough to figure out the problem (there was a reason I left the hospital in the first place LOL) but one thing I found was that if I listened to the files directly from the folder in my transcription program instead of using the little "mini-control bar," the sound was MUCH clearer.

Hope I'm making sense. I use Olympus DSS. You can leave the main program on and listen to the files from there or you can click and icon and get the "mini bar."

Good luck!

Same thing happened to me
I mentioned this in another post on the board. I never got my 1099 from my previously employer now matter how hard I tried. My accountant said it didn't matter if I received it or not. I just figured out the amount that I was paid from my records, and I sent a letter to the MTSO and told her how much I was claiming and that I hoped her 1099 was going to reflect the same. Even after that not one word from her.
Same thing happened to me...

Although, I do use digital, and unknown to the doctors, I save their dictations on my external hard drive.  I was accused recently of typing a note, but not delivering it. The doc said that she knows she dictated it, but she never received it.  Well, I looked back on my hand written list and there was the patient's name, but it had a NO CHARGE next to it, which means I did not type that note for some reason.  I then relistened to her dictation from that date, and guess what?  Yes, the doc had said that it did not need to be completed.  I called her back to let her know what I found.  No apology, no thanks, she just said, "Oh, I guess I will have to dictate that to you and send it."

Of course, they forget that while you are searching for these notes, etc., you are not being paid.  I have lost too many hours of pay due to their negligence.

I would see if you can change to digital, this way you can save every dictation and note from the past very easily.

Same thing happened to me
The company told me I had to have Workers' Comp too. I explained to them that I did not, and faxed them a copy of our rules along with their hire packet and I never heard from them again. Their loss!javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
The same thing happened to me.
I don't remember the name of the company, but I saw the appointment written in on the patient list.  About 6 to 8 weeks later, the doctor stopped dictating altogether.  Be prepared that losing the account is indeed a possibility.
same thing happened to me. sm
I have worked since I was 14 years old. Got very very ill back in 1997. Without going into the whole long story, it got to the point because I could not work we nearly lost everything we had. Tried to get help from the state, didn't qualify. I was actually told if I would DIVORCE my husband, then I would qualify for help! I am now 53, doing fine, working and am still married 36 years this July!

Most of the time, the folks that really need the help are exactly the ones who can't get it. People like the original poster do nothing but suck the system dry and live in their own little world of "entitlement."

At least I can sleep at night knowing I didn't rip anyone off!

Sounds like we went through some of the same stuff and all the hassle that goes with it!
This same thing happened to me...
I worked in an office for 5 years and came home to work when my son was in kindergarten...I to had other duties in my office job but I wanted strictly to transcribe and nothing else, so I came home...and boy, what a shocker when I realized I was not as fast as I thought I was and that I had to work a little harder to get the hang of working at home full-time...it was really hard at first but 5 years later I am still at home...I have a 10 year old and a 2 year old and it can be done...just hang in there...please purchase an Expander program..It has saved me so much time and as you know working from home with children we can use all of the extra time in the day we can!!!!
The same thing happened to me. I
got a little worried, but realized it was usually when very hot weather. I did not have much of a problem during the winter at all, but last summer could barely get my shoes on and was wearing those rubber clogs everywhere because nothing else would fit. I started getting up and walking around every hour and it seems to be better so far, but not looking forward to the heat this summer in Phoenix again.
same thing happened to me; i threw a fit with them. sm
i ended up getting my 4th installation under my initial purchase registration # but they did inform me if it happens again, i will have to purchase.  i refuse to although my company requires it.  i haven't ran into needing it again but i am sure i will eventually.  you can buy the (whatever that external USB thing is called) which allows unlimited installs, but not after your initial purchase and i, like you, was not informed about all that as my company purchased for me and withheld from my pay.  win XP does a similar thing and only limits the installs on the software.  i think they both are a bunch of BS.  i pay for it, i deserve to do what i want with it.  can't help my hard drive crashed, etc.
The same thing happened to my neighbor (sm)

She passed with flying colors and then couldn't find a job.  I was amazed, I live in Southern California.

Same thing happened to me. I dumped them.
,
Same thing happened to me - grossed me out.
NM
Similar thing happened to us......
We then get a letter from Fidelity telling us the same thing. First of all, who puts all that personal information in a laptop? That should never be allowed. And then they offer a 1 year from Equifax.....whooopeee!!! If your identify is stolen, good luck trying to get Equifax or anyone else to believe you didn't screw up your credit. These companies should have their feet held to the fire.....this is absolutely ludicrous to have this personal info on a laptop.
In retrospect, it was the best thing that could have happened to me

I would have had a hard time just making the decision to leave and strike out on my own, working at home. The one good thing about the hospital was that it paid well.  But I was very unhappy there and my poor husband bore the brunt of it when I would come home with all that frustration "saved up" and talk to him about it for hours at a time.

So, although at this point our financial situation may not be quite as solid, my husband has a good job which provides benefits for both of us, I love working at home, and I have two part-time jobs with great people to work with. I get to stay at home with my sweet doggie Fox and look out at the flowers blooming and the new leaves growing on the trees everywhere.....all in all, I am very happy with my new situation. I have a peace of mind that I never had while working at that other job.

to all those who have been supportive in this thread. It means a lot to me that you are willing to "go out on a limb", so to speak, to support what I have been saying. Give yourself a great big pat on the back!

I know which national ~ same thing happened to me. sm
Yes, I was allowed to test and spent a few days of communications before being told my acute care was not "recent" enough. I have 13 years exp with the majority of that being acute care besides the last two years. The only reason I went to clinic instead of acute care was the lack of being able to get high-speed internet until now and compatibility with the nationals. I have four kids and a laid off husband as well! Know how you feel. No santa this year.

Same thing happened to me. The caller couldn't even tell

After being told by my supervisor that the possibility of me getting paid less money for doing the editing for voice recognition, I immediately brushed up my resume and headed out the door.
