Tip on Aching Wrists/Target Laundry Detergent!
Okay, I have hesitated sharing this one for a long time now, cause I know, absolutely know, I will get flamed somehow, cause its sort of silly, but its not silly to those of us whose wrists and/or arms are shot from this "career".  I have really bad wrists now AND elbows - actually if your wrists hurt, chances are your tendons are aggravated right up to your elbow, too, though the pain might not localize there.  At any rate, I also found my wrist would hurt with some "ADLs", mostly laundry.  No matter what size of detergent I bought, they were always heavy, and the motion of pouring deturg into the cups really hurt my right wrist. Sometimes I could even hear an audible "pop" on that motion of holding this heavy bottle and pouring. My physical medicine guy said it was the motion of that with the weight on top of typing that wreaked havoc on my wrists, and that even lots of women who don't type have popped their tendons out using laundry detergent!  Well, this is SO stupid, but...a few months ago I went to Target and saw their brand "Method" laundry detergent.  Its super concentrated and fits 32 loads in a tiny bottle. Plus, its like those mouthwash dispensers where you just hold the bottle upright and squeeze and a tiny bit of the detergent fills in a tiny cup at the top. You fill to the line, which takes all of 1 second, and that's all the detergent you need! Plus, this stuff is awesome with the laundry.  Prior to that, only Tide could get my kids clothes clean. This stuff is the BEST, and it smells great! Its about $6 for this bottle, which I would have thought expensive, but the savings on my wrists are priceless!  My carpal tunnel and elbow tendonitis have nearly completely healed. It was just this stupid combo of motions that did my wrists in!  For those older MTs like me, who've been at this for over 20 years, try it! It might help!!  Again, I see a sports med guy, and get injections occasionally. I used to have to wear wrist braces, etc.  I was scheduled for surgery until I started using this silly Target laundry detergent! Now, no more pain!  Isn't that so weird? But neat?
LAUNDRY! Never ends...

It counts the lines it ends up with, not what it starts with. nm

I do the laundry, but boy do I have HUGE laundry baskets of clean clothes to put away!
I don't mind doing the laundry, drying, and even folding. Boy do I hate having to separate them and put them away or even put them in my kids rooms! Time to have a pow-wow with my teens, so they can do their own!

I have two HUGE baskets overflowing with clean clothes that need to go into their drawers or dressers! I hate when that happens!!!
Actually, It starts there, then carries on will all the company links and ads.

Well, if your company starts with a T.. the reason you see work but none in your job list is because
to the Indians for their shift..It's always feast for famine with these companies.
Read between the lines. When a company starts saying work more to make more
and you have to work in assembly-line fashion like an automaton, they are having a cash crunch.  They held out one salary to you to get you to do the job, then they turn around and cut your pay because you make too much.  They don't sound financially stable.  If you've only been on the job 2 months, start looking elsewhere for a more financially stable company.   Send out your resume and see what other companies have to offer and check out references for those companies.  I and a friend in the past have gone part-time with a new company before resigning from the old one in order to make sure the new company is going to be compatible with us. It's hard to do, but it's short-term for only 1 or 2 weeks.
To all, what are you gonna do when your company goes to VR totally?

Water here, too. I fill water bottles halfway and freeze them
so I have ice water for the entire day.  It's easier than trying to cram ice cubes down the little mouths of the bottles.  I confess to having coffee, Earl Grey tea and a cola today because I'm too tired from the idiots who were rodding their cars around in front of the house from midnight until 3:00 a.m. last night.  Oh, well.  At least I'm off today.
And its gonna kill you to post on the Company board rather than the main board?

Did you change you clothes detergent or anything?- sm
My DH has very sensitive skin and that has happened to him when Tide changed their "no bleach alternative" detergent about 8 years ago. I switched to Cheer and no more problem. But it sound like an allergic reaction to something and should get checked out asap.
Fingers aren't working yet.....your clothes detergent - -nm

You could bathe with a gentle shampoo or even dish detergent, rinse well and if you have vinegar do

a vinegar rinse and then do a final rinse.   This might drown the fleas or at least stun them.  If dog is light colored you might be able to see them and pick them off when dog is wet.   If you have a dog brush, brush it outside and you might get some off that way.  If you have tea tree oil you can put some around its neck area or on a collar if you have one.   This is a fairly strong smell though and we've always had to wash it off the same day, though lots of people swear by this.   I can't think of anything else you can do with stuff you already have around the house.

We adopted 3 kittens from the shelter and have never had a flea problem, but now we can't seem to get rid of them and my dog is on 3 different treatments and I still find an occasional flea.  She has developed a sensitivity to bites too and scratches all the time and can't take prednisone because she has Cushings.

Growing up we had a tri-colored Pembroke corgi.  He was the sweetest thing and I still miss him terribly, 30 years later.

All's well that ends well

I probably wouldn't change anything. I was an MT for 15 years and it was a good ride. The last 5 years or so my salary began sliding until I couldn't make ends meet anymore. About a year ago I left the field to become a dialysis technician and just got accepted into nursing school. I wouldn't change the timing. Everything unfolded the way it was supposed to I guess.

I feel very sad for the loss of a great career. I loved being an MT and I miss it. I just couldn't hang in there anymore. Maybe I would have worked harder on my education while I had the chance. Other than that I don't have any regrets.

Woo! The Fun Never ENDS!
My new job. Grrrhhhh.

I like the job, but I'm irritated by Barb, our trainer/mentor/whip master.

She is on me like stink on a skunk.

Wow. I will give her one thing . . . she is right persistent. When she calls me lets it ring seven times until the answering machine picks up. She never leaves a message. Instead, Barb will hang up and re-dial. This morning I answered on the 77th ring. It was all I could stand.

They probably have to do it that way, because I'm certain a few of their new hires have escaped. Long term this is going to turn out to be a good job, but Barbie has to go.

She needs to hop in her little dream car and head on out to Malibu before I push her in the Easy Bake Oven.

"Ring.... rinnnnggggg..... riiiiiiiiiinnnnggggggggggg"

Spying my ID, I see that would be her now. Swell. Speak of the devil.

I'm trying to ignore it.

Did you ever see that fly paper that comes in a little tube that you hang from the ceiling to catch flies? This pre-dated the No Pest Strip that hung in a little box that looked like a slice of Velveeta so I'm giving my age away. I really hate fly paper. Invariably, if I come close to it that stuff is attracted to my hair like a magnet. It might catch flies, but it lethal to long hair.

"Rinnggggg.. ...... riiiinggggggg...... riiiinggggggg"

Yep. You got it.

Barb again. She never gives up. I suppose she missed the class in fifth grade on telephone etiquette when they said, "if people don't answer, they are not home!"

"Rinnggggg.. ...... riiiinggggggg...... riiingggggg . . . . .. riiiiiiiiing."

"Go away Barb."

"Rinnggggg.. ...... riiiinggggggg...... riiingggggg . . . . .. riiiiiiiiing."

Oh, that does it! I've had enough.

Today, I make sticky hat for Barb.

. . . or maybe, I can get one of those bug zapper things and interface that to my telephone?

Hmmmm . . . . now there's an idea. Once I get the TeleBug-Barb-Zapper perfected, they can take this transcription job and . . . . .

I do laundry for myself....now...but I did have--sm
a family of five to do laundry for at one time. working or not, I still kept up on it. I had to. Nobody else would do it. lol. but that is just me...and meant no offense. It was not directed at you, anyway.
I agree. It never ends.

Yeppers, it never ends. (sm)

They act like they're doing you a huge favor to make $60.00 a day.  Who can get by on that????  I hear ya, I've worked for a company too where I made $3.00 an hour.  And they rant and rave about how good their company is, PULEEZE!  If they were so great they wouldn't be advertising!  If they paid well they wouldn't be advertising!  Wish they'd get the picture!  If they truly paid well and were good to work for we'd all be lined up to work for them!

Sick and tired.

We'd need to know the fax program used on both ends before we could help.

Not ALL MTs have fat rear ends or sm
never get out into the real world. I came from a hospital and I KNOW what EMR is all about and how savvy the docs are with computers. Your comment was offensive.
I do laundry for 4 during the week...
and 5 on the weekends when my son comes home from college.  I have enough laundry every other day for at least 3 loads - jeans, towels and shirts, socks, underwear.  Today, I had 5 loads because I stripped all the beds, plus had a small load of black and red, which I don't always have, depends on who wears what.  I have a relative who always buys new socks for her family so she doesn't have to wash as often and used to leave the dirty stuff pile up on basement floor until the stuff started to mildew.
I have one who never ends his sentence
The whole body of the report is just one long run-on sentence, and I'm supposed to stop and start the sentences for him.
My first job working at a dry cleaner/laundry. sm
Working on a shirt folding machine in the summertime with temp over 100 degrees indoors.  Smelling the dry cleaning fumes.
I have a huge pile of laundry

But I want to buy more clothes because they are having a buy one get the next for $1 at the shopping bug.  They I can have more clothes to wash

Isn't that silly

do your present laundry first and then treat yourself--sm
for a job *well done* by buying new clothes. That way you get both. just a suggestion.
I think teaching pre-teens how to do laundry

I think 10-12 year olds can help do some laundry - it helps them develop a work ethic and shows them that if they go out on their own, what they will have to do....well, the ones who don't continually bring their laundry back to their mothers.  *LOL*  AND they love eaning $$$ - it's a great way, instead of *tossing* allowances at them.....chores/laundry/etc. = few dollars in their little pockets *S*

It's all about deals and contracts w/kids I think....and I'm a pro...on the subject, as I have some....*lol*

They don't realize that VR often ends up costing - sm
a whole lot more. Not just the software, equipment, upgrades, etc, but also the tech support, editors, and also trainers needed to introduce new staff to the system. Also time spent while doctors *train* the system. Then, when they ultimately give up and dump it 6 months or a year down the road, and can't get reimbursed for what they wasted on it, that's expensive, too.
Make sure your "type as" ends with the last

Well if I'm gonna dream I'm gonna dream big! hehe

My friend's kids have been doin their own laundry since they were 6.

I absolutely HATE putting laundry away.
Sorting, washing and folding are not a problem.
I fold laundry while I'm zoned out watching TV.

I don't watch much TV anyway, because I can't stand sitting still doing nothing.

Mine too. --hate folding the laundry the most though - nm

Truly sad when couples air their dirty laundry in public

Please, think of the children!

I would feel sorry for Sh*ri except she is such an obvious whackjob who truly deserves whatever is coming her way.  Baby, you know the old saying:  What goes around, comes around.  Obviously it's coming around back to you in spades!

Laundry. Offered kids $5 a load but they turned it down. Now everyone does their own, except hubby

For home things and general odds and ends Target

For groceries Super Walmart. I get my makeup and some hair necessities on-line from specialty websites.  For incidentals, impulse buys like clothes, purses, general fun junque, etc. I like street-side vendors, specialty shops, and some of my favorite chain stores like Kohl's (which I can't live without)!

Yep, small TV on cable news, VERY low. Just in case the worlds ends,

I am 31 too and maybe it starts in your 30s. Who knows
I hate it when I have just uploaded a report and I freak out thinking I left something off or forgot to check something. I feel so dumb!

I think have children robs you of brain cells too!
Do you know when it starts? TIA.
