The only thing that helps me and my kids is Zantac.

It takes the nausea right away. If I have none in the house, plain old peppermint candies work well also.

Good luck.

I don't think anything but the real thing helps. It just
takes practice.  I think I'm pretty good with ESL, have done up to about 85% at one time, but there are some that are just a challenge and I don't think there is a program that will help.  I say save your money.   If I have an ESL for the first time and I have no samples I go all the way through the report, leaving blanks where necessary.  I then go back through the report and I usually get most, if not all of the blanks, but if I have to leave a blank I don't worry about it.  I save any corrections and then I have a sample for the next time.
I enlarge the print (helps!) & proof the whole thing.

We the same thing here.....DH or kids ask where something is - sm
I, being the font of all knowlege, tell them....do the look where I say it is? No, they search and search and search, until I have to go "look", and of course it is right where I said it would be....talk about frustrating. Or the other thing is you ask them to get something for you, telling them exactly where it is, they come back empty-handed, and you have to go get it yourself anyway....makes me want to scream!
another thing, when they do see the kids, all they do is complain after a couple of hours - sm
how tired the kids make them. Yeah, you can have the kids for 2 days.....plus his mom would drive them all over town and "show them off". They are little trophies to her. All her friends get their grandkids on the weekends, some every weekend (lazy parents?) and it kills her that she does not. I am just happy my parents were/are (only dad now) the total opposite of them, they have a good time with the kids but at the same time us common sense, which is the big lacking component in my husband's parents. I think we do okay though and like I said they see the kids on a regular basis, sometimes 2 x a month, sometimes 1 x a month. Considering our busy schedule around here that is pretty good.
Do little kids like caramel? My big kids won't even eat it! We make the basic Baker's chocolat
s
I never said you shouldn't have kids! Feeling guilty? I asked WHY you had kids.
You clearly stated in your post that you ship the kids off to camp all day, and they're TIRED AT NIGHT!!  You know exactly what you said.  You said it as a PERK - AS IN GREAT! They're gone all day, it wears them out, and so I shovel dinner in their mouths and off to bed!  You can try to paint it any way you want, but YOU SAID IT.  Again, I only hope your kids never hear you speak that way or write that way. Shame on you.  Why have kids at all?  Just another parent who has them, gets rid of them for day AND night, BRAGS ABOUT IT, and then calls ME wicked!  Give me a break!  Camp is fine - its WHAT YOU SAID AND YOU KNOW IT.  Your own words showed your heart. Period.
Kids are demanding and so is MT work. My question is how CAN you do this with kids, rather than how
When you have two young kids, 11 months apart, (like I stated they are now 4 and 5) and have been doing this since they were born with no help from their father and no family around, YES, the kids get neglected. Part time might work but living on one salary, part time, is not an option. How can you possible tell me that anyone with two young kids can stay at home and work a full-time, 8-hour shift, and still give their kids the attention they NEED. I dont care how good you are at multitasking and how great your organizational skills are. It is a very difficult thing to do. And I am offended by your post making it sound as if it is easy to do.

I do agree that it can depend on how well your kids behave and how well they are able to play on their own. But my kids were not able to play well on their own. They needed constant attention.

So please take the time to realize that there are people out there in different situations than your own.

Reading our posts should help you to understand that everyone has a different situation. I believe everyone should have the right to shares their experiences as it might benefit the original poster in her questions and concerns.

I dont think anyone should be bashed for taking the time out to write about their experiences. I dont usually come on here to argue but you really ticked me off with your post. And try reading the post correctly. I said next time around I would have put them in day care. What I DID do with them was set them up to an activity like art or put on a movie for them. Geez.
Stayed "because of the kids?" I say "leave because of the kids"
You're in no position to buy right now. Keep saving, keep paying down your bills, and for heaven's sake get rid of that dead weight of a BF you're living with. You can do better.
So, should I return the $75 (x2 kids) in music cards I got the kids for x-mas...sm
My son has been telling me about free music sites and I was very leary.  How do they skirt the law Radguy?
I don't have kids, but my Mom was from the "old school," and still had everyone, kids inclu

call her by her first name.  The little neighbor girl next door from the time she could speak called her Aggie (my mom's first name), and they were great buddies until the day my mom pased away.

I don't think there really is much in a name, but more in the respect you are given and the way you are treated.   Personally, I kind of cringe inside when someone calls me Ms. Anything or God forbid, "maam" (makes me feel like Methuselah!) ... I'm always just plain Merrie.  :-)

But, as someone pointed out, to each his own.  If you want to be addressed a certain way, you have that right, and people should respect that.  I'm glad you corrected the child ... hope it "sticks."

Please do not simply give up, kids or no kids!
Talk with a professional. This can be worked through if he really puts forth the effort and you participate. The right counseling can truly make your marriage even better than it was before, if BOTH parties are willing to be honest. Give it a try. Nothing to lose at this point and everything to gain!
OJ is what helps me
I think it is the sugar in the juice because no one tells you that smoking digests food quicker (read that somewhere) so it will take longer for a person who stopped smoking to feel better after eating... So when I feel low I drink some juice... hope this helps
Thank you so much - yes that helps! nm

If this helps,
My Stedman's spell check accepts antiinflammatory.  I read somewhere that we are we are not supposed to hyphenate unless the nonhyphenated word form is another separate word.  I do not remember the examples they gave, but it did make sense.

Yes, that helps, thanks.

Not sure if this helps

Perhaps they gave you a generic contract or info sheet, you need to ask if you are to print and return or send back and they print.  Also call in services charge per minute of dictation anywhere from 0.18 to 0.10 per minute of dictation.  So more than how many lines, you need to know minute as if they are stuttering a lot or going through a chart and not dictating you will be charged for the minutes that they use whether dictating or not.  What city/state are you in, will you be contracting out, and again find out if you have to print or they print.  Sometimes the contracts that they send our are generic and do not specify which services you will be providing and you need to clarify that.   So you need to ask a few more questions, also see if they deduct or penalize if you do not meet your TAT.   But without know the above, to me it would be like throwing a dart at a dart board trying to make a bullseye.

This helps me........sm
I get up and wrap my arms around myself in a big bear hug as tight as I can to stretch out the back muscles. I bend over and let my arms dangle until my fingers eventually touch the ground, if you're one like me who cannot flat palm the floor with straight legs (my MIL at 70 could!). This really stretches out everything. I get a lot of relief in the neck by doing chin tucks to the chest and relaxing there for a couple of minutes.

This is a trick a PT told me...while sitting in a chair with your legs a foot or so apart, bend over with your arms inside the leg area and grab for the floor...this really stretches out the upper back.

I know what you mean though -my muscles will burn in my arms and shoot pains through to my hands. Hope this helps!
That helps a lot.
Thank you so much.
yes it helps a lot --

but do you plug Lanier into a phone line? I am not familiar with Lanier.

Not that it helps but...
Not sure if this is being used in word? However and FYI for those who might need it, if you type LEE and it expands, do ALT E and enter, which is for unedit and it will return to the abbreviated text.
yes, that helps

That seems like it would be very time consuming!  I'm using a pedal now and can't imagine controlling my dictations without it.  Doesn't that take away from a lot of typing time?

Black-out drapes purchased at K-mart and a black sleep mask ($3 from a catalog) have been a tremendous help in getting/staying asleep when you have to sleep during the day.
Hopefully this helps! (sm)
Turn on or off automatic bulleted or numbered lists:

On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
Under Apply as you type, select or clear the Automatic bulleted lists or Automatic numbered lists check box.

This is a VA account? The VA pretty much expects contractors to pay their workers. If you're not working for this woman any longer, you might try complaining to the facility that you have not been paid. Try calling purchasing and contracting, as well as the chief of HIM. You can get the main phone numbers on the VA website--just Google it.

My computer has 2 holes for the headphone set:
One is in front of the modem and one is in the back of the modem.

Put your hedadphone into the hole in the BACK of the modem.
Thank you! This helps. And thanks to everybody.
Great suggestions.

Don't know if this helps...
... but here is a shot of my left hand, on the keyboard, in its usual typing position. (The right hand is holding the camera.) It's hard to tell... but hopefully you can see that my wrist is absolutely flat, and my hand comes straight off my forearm without any angle to either side.

Because I have a curved keyboard, the wrist rest is an Imak Ergo Beans beanbag, which of course conforms to any keyboard. I picked it up at Office Depot for pretty cheap. The keyboard is the Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 which costs under 20 bucks and has pretty decent action. The curve is actually pretty slight---but it's JUST enough to straighten out those lateral wrist angles that first gave me tendinitis back in the old typewriter days.

What you can't really see is that the heel of my hand is resting on a wrist-rest, which is at a height that keeps everything perfectly level. And what you can't see at all is that my forearms are basically parallel to the floor, with my elbows tight at my sides. It took a good bit of chair and desk height fiddling to get this combination right; but believe me, it is WORTH IT!

Anyway... see what you can do to get your wrists into as neutral positions as possible, both vertical and horizontal. And do try wrapping with an Ace bandage--even if only at night, to keep yourself from sleeping on it "wrong." (I do that from time to time. Not fun.)

Best of luck, and keep us posted on how it goes!
Thank you so much...it helps, even if you're not my QA! nm

I have a Stedman's 3rd ed. (2003) that I purchased new (still in plastic) off of Amazon for $22.  I like the HPI books, but I have never used the psych one, so I don't know how much difference there is, but I do know you can get the Stedman's cheaper than $36.  Another book that I used a lot is the PDR Drug Guide for Mental Health Professionals 2nd ed.  I bought it at Books a Million.  I don't use it as much now since I am familiar with the meds, but it was great when I started doing psych because it only has the types of meds related to mental health in it.  Check ebay and Amazon for books.  They are SO much cheaper.  I have bought almost all of my ref. books that way.  Good luck!  I love doing psych.
Hope it helps

Thank you - that helps immensly

Thank you.  That definitely helps me a lot.  The more I think about it, the more I realize that I am happy where I am and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?!  Plus, I am in a position where I can extend myself a bit and make more where I am, so not sure the switch would be a great idea.

Thanks again!

I don't know exactly how to do it, but I think the file is called Web Correct.  Here is a website for some folks who can help!  They are wonderful with technical questions like this:

running a fan helps too
It drowns out the rest of the noises while everyone else is up and about.

Yep. I had 2 scares within 2 weeks of each other. Found blood on the tissue very similar to when I start my period (I was 8 weeks and 10 week both times it happened). Hubby rushed me to the ER and after blood tests and ultrasounds I checked out OK. I'm now almost 18 weeks along with baby #3

I also had this with my son (second pregnancy) about 7 years ago. I happened almost every week. I carried him to term with no additional complications. And, with both of these pregnancies the bleeding ceased once I was out of the first trimester.

Hang in there.

That helps a LOT, Elaine! Thank you!

You're going to need to be in "heading" when you number your pages (sure you already know that).  When you are in your heading, a toolbar should pop up called "Header and Footer."  This toolbar has an icon on it that looks like a piece of paper with a # on it.  That is what you use to insert the page #.  It should number consecutive pages 1, 2, 3, etc., unless you manually go in and create a new section (Insert Page Break, Section Break Type--Next Page).  If you inserted that type of break, a new section would be started at 1, 2, 3, with new headings if you wanted them.

One thing to look out for--when you are in your "heading" section, a box is visible around your header with a broken line around it.  Sometimes it will say "Same as Previous."  That means, even though this might be a new section, you are telling the document to keep the header information from the previous section--which will really mess up your pagination!  To get rid of that, roll your mouse over the "Header and Footer" toolbar until you see the icon "Same as Previous."  Make sure it isn't highlighted.

Hope this helps and isn't too confusing for you.  Good luck!

I hope somebody helps me out. SM

The two-space thing was for typesetters and typewriters. With today's proportional fonts, it is no longer necessary, and in fact leaves a "river of white" through a document. <--- this is from memory. I wonder if the BOS says so?

Me 'n' my big mouth. I can't document it without leaving this website and going to google. :)
