Bad...I'll show you the math inside SM

Where I used to work, they said a minute of transcription more or less equals 11.5 lines (average dictator).  So, 60 minutes would equal 690 lines.  If you divide $40 by 690, you would end up earning 5.8 cents per line.  As an employee that is terrible...as an IC (independent contractor) that is even worse.  You would need to earn at least twice that much to make it worth your while.

Jess needed to go but I'll be more than miffed if Carissa lasts another show.

menopause side effects
I had that, too. Took me forever to get it together after my hysterectomy and still have trouble sleeping even 2-1/2 years later.  Did find that a super high B-complex vitamin and proper feeding times help a lot, though.
Already feeling the effects -prayers started on day 1

Has anyone experienced side effects from Nexium?

I was placed on Nexium after a normal EGD and colonoscpy in January due to persistent acid reflux (which caused a little esophagitis) and I had nausea.  I had just been diagnosed a couple weeks prior to that with benign paroxsymal positional vertigo which causes nausea & vertigo.  The vertigo resolved after a couple Epley maneuvers but the daily nausea remained until recently.  All the anti-nausea meds made me too sleepy to work/function but my pain med I am on for chronic back pain ironically would stop the nausea; however, I had no appetite and was SO sick feeling all the time still. I had to force myself to eat as it continued to worsen and I continued to lose weight.

My family doctor ran extensive lab work on me, CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis, and also ultrasound, all of which were normal or  showing only minor benign findings. He was at a loss for the cause of my symptoms. We tried Zelnorm which did not help. He tried me on Remeron but one pill knocked me out for 20 hours straight!

I had not only the nausea, lack of appetite, weight losss, but chills, night sweats, and an overall feeling of being SO sick and exhausted to the point that I have done nothing but shower, dress and work each day for the past three months!  I felt desperate for help/relief!

Recently while laying and resting in bed, I thought about the meds I am on and (had already stopped the pain med thinking that may be the cause which is wasn't) thought about the Nexium I just started in January and did a search on the net and my first hit showed me a whole list of "rare side effects" and every symptom I have is included in that list!

I know this med works great for some but I just want others to be aware of the many side effects any med can cause  as I would hate to see anyone go through what I have gone through these past few months. My family, friends, and I really felt I was going to die. That is how bad I looked and felt!

Another thing that I realized - I had been taking Prilosec OTC for close to two years prior to starting the Nexium and my GI doc told me that is a form of Nexium but not as strong. Also, for close to the past two years, I have been complaining of always feeling SO fatigued and it just gradually kept worsening and I was just told it is a part of getting older.  I didn't believe this totally as I just was not feeling real well either. Now, I know why!

Obviously, I have stopped the Nexium and I will certainly be letting my doctor know what I have learned. If you are interested, here is the link where I found the info I mentioned above - maybe it will help someone else:

adderall has less side effects that amoxicillin
it's all a stigma when it comes to ADHD meds. Parents clutch their chest in horror when you prescribe meds for ADHD, but then demand amoxicillin for every sniffle.
I had to stop taking Nexium because of side effects. I take
Prilosec and it works fine for me.
If you can show proof you did this work for them, they then have to show they paid it in order
:+
It depends. The side effects can go either way - weight gain, weight *loss*... sm
Or no weight change at all, but maybe some other unpleasant side effect. Or you might have only mild side effects, or none at all and it's like a miracle cure for you. ;o) Everyone is so different, you never know until you try a med. for yourself.
I came from low level neighborhood. I know the effects low level people have on a child's
mind. I fought very hard to get out of there. If you think narrow-minded high-horse thinking people are the only ones who are making trailer park comments, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. I know white trash people who live for the weekend to get drunk and party and make just enough to get by. I am educated in the "real world" and whether you like it or not, the "real world" doesn't want to be anywhere near a trailer park for real or imagined reasons and does ostracize trailer park people along with ghetto people and section 8 people. Crime, drugs, do come from low income housing. BTW, people are outraged at black-on-black ghetto crime. That does not happen in higher working class black neighborhoods. Same deal with white trash people. Low class white people get drunk fight and end up in jail. If you read the newspaper or watch it on TV over the weekend, you know what I am talking about. Crime, drugs, etc is rarely an ONGOING problem in upper class neighborhoods because most of these people have goals for the future. Lower class neighborhoods and low class people are what they are because that's what the people in the neighborhoods settle for.
love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.

I have two IC contracts right now. I recently went back to a job I had quit earlier in the year to work for the other company I am still working for.

The newer job has 80% ESLs. I transcribe OP notes primarily and I can fill in other work types as the opportunity arises. I am frustrated with this particular situation. After 6 months, I am making less money and working longer hours. I am past the learning curve and I should be doing better, at least in the number of hours I am spending doing the job. We have run out of work for 24 hrs at a time at least 5 or 6 times since December 1, and in November it was more than that. I have a friend who worked for this company as well and she was having similar difficulties. The only thing that we can figure is that they are shorting us line count some way, because after 6 months at it, it should be easier/faster/more money, but it is less and less every single pay period. It is not a nice thing to accuse a company of doing, but it SEEMS that way to us. I am fed up with being expected to type every single OP note that comes in 24/7 and meeting the 6 hr TAT for them on weekends, evenings, holidays, wee hours of the morning...

I took back a job I held for 2-1/2 yrs. The team leader has changed and this gal thinks that I should be on call 24/7 for whenever she has work. I might have some at 7 a.m., or perhaps not until 6 p.m. or later. I can't plan my personal life and between these two IC situations, I find that I am not eating on a daily basis, not showering on a daily basis and not sleeping more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. I have lost weight and I don't feel very well. I woke up today with a rip roaring head cold (my first in nearly 8 yrs) and it has already moved to bronchitis and I am expecting pneumonia by the weekend because I develop it very easily. I already have deep pain in my back.

Yes, I should call in sick tomorrow, but I really can't take the fallout. The job I took back I am covering for another gal who wanted vacation over the holidays and if I have to call in sick, the team leader will call me and pitch a fit about how this is my responsibility. It IS my responsibility, I did say I would do it, and I will do it, despite being quite ill. In the past, when I worked for this company, they would not allow me to call in sick for a "cold" without a doctor's note. I worked through many illnesses with them and only called in sick when I developed West Nile Fever and while I was sick for over a month, I only called for my last 12 reports one day when I could no longer see the computer screen because my head hurt.

The problem is that yes, many MTs lack work ethic. They don't take their responsibility seriously. This is not a work as you please career, not even for an IC. I can see the MTSO's point of view, I truly can. Like finding experienced, reliable and capable MTs, for the MTs who are these things, finding a company will treat you like a human being is equally difficult. I sit here, feeling lousy and like I am an utter slave labor with no consideration whatsoever. I know that my work needs to be done, but when I am this sick it is better that someone else do it for the sake of the work, for accuracy and for speed of getting it out. I know that I am needed, but to be the MT these companies need me to be, I also need to look after my own health.

I will also mention that when I have asked for vacation, I have been approved for the time, but the MTSO queues up my work and calls me then I am not on the system getting it done. I have told them I had been approved for time off, but the MTSO didn't schedule anyone to cover for me and I am told to get on work, vacation or no, if I want to keep my job.

Thus, I work 24/7/365 and have for years. I work sick, I work when I am in pain (I have an AI disorder), I work exhausted from staying up all night covering for others who are allowed to call in sick and have vacations when I can't have either. I work having no health insurance and not being able to afford the $125 a month to buy some with a high copay so I can see a doctor. I work without breaks for breakfast, lunch or dinner and I sometimes come close to having an accident because if I leave my desk to go to the little girls' room I get nasty calls about where I am at and what I am doing.

Many MTs are mistreated, and I am one of them.

I think this goes to show you that SM

when a person goes to another place with the proper attitude (respecting the culture already there, appreciating it and being open to new experiences) you can have a wonderful time.

I think sometimes we in the U.S. have such a need to fashion everything into OUR way of doing things it ruins our ability to appreciate different countries/cultures.

show
I love the show. I think the people learning to dance are very brave. I love George H. too! Looks like a lot of hard work and that it is definitely outside their comfort zone. Good for them!
This just goes to show you that when the
first letters are right and the last couple are right, the mistake is easily missed. No spelling police here, right!?!
It won't show up. it says
1. How much money did you make?
2. Send it to us.

Yes, I know how to show myself as
offline on instant messenger. Sorry, I misunderstood the post. That doesn't make someone stupid because they don't know how to, though. I had never even used instant messenger until about 3-4 months ago. It is a learning process and no one should ever be called stupid because they have not yet learned something.
New to the show
Only recently started watching this show. What is wrong with his leg and why does he pop all those pills?
was that the show with the...
Dumb guy and his *polyfidelity* mumbojumbo??? I just saw bits and pieces of it, but boy if that was my husband...well let's just say he wouldn't be my husband...or anyone's husband...for long! Whatta jerk!
What a show!
That guy was the biggest peice of trash I ever saw. Sometimes it just blows my mind why people as stupid as him want to come on national TV. Does he not realize he is a complete and utter fool? His wife is not much better either. UGH - She is only staying for the children and that is a shame. Honestly, I didn't really see any love between them.
About the show
I think personally that Paula is a little flaky, nevertheless, I can say I didn't notice anything different from her last night. As stated below, Carrie started the show. It was just a regular show I thought. No exciting moments, other than that nasty Brenna going home. She was pouring that "get money" thing on really thick. Kinda came off pathetic IMO. Can't wait until next time!!
There are also MTs that don't have anything to show - sm
that feel they must tear down those that do, whether they ever show it off or not. Like people that feel they must scratch or ding new cars they encounter because they themselves don't have the money to buy such.

There are bad apples on either side of the coin. But regardless of whether we have reason to brag or not, it is best we conduct ourselves so that we care about others in the process.

It should show up now, sorry.
One can never have too many friends.........

:)
She is, it is her show, and...
it is meant to attract viewers.  Which is obviously does.  My son was on her show and she was VERY fair in her decision.  We were all very happy with the outcome, not because he won but because justice was served!! and on a TV show no less!!
She will just show up at the ER and noone will

Just goes to show you, all the

This is my new favorite show...

LOVE THAT SHOW
I can't wait to see it every week, big fan of INXS, and the reason why the performances are so good is because these singers were professionals to start with, what a great change from the Teeny Boppers of American Idol.  Love Mig and JD.  The show is like watching a mini concenrt and when Jordis sang that Bowie song last week, I watched it at least 10 times more on line.  Glad to see someone else loves the show.  Sadly it has not gotten good ratings, so much for class acts getting their just deserves in this fickle society we live in.
Not in my office, but just goes to show you that nothing is

especially when there's only bad stuff to show
I noticed that Shepard Smith on Fox (not considered a liberal news outlet) was not especially impressed with the government response to the disaster. He was desperately begging for help for people stranded for days on a bridge.
His policies seem to show that,

Great show!

Jerry Rice is good but cannot match Drew.  What's up with the gangsta rapper?  He should have gone first. He doesn't really care.  I think he should have gone first.

Rock on Drew.

If you saw the first show, it was sorta sad...
she was talking about how she's tired of men just looking at her like a hunk of meat, and that she may have actually let herself "go" so that people might look at her as something more than a body.  She says at 45 she only wants to be at a more healthy weight.  She was actually really sweet.
Not lame. It's a fun show. nm

Some people just can't help but try to show - sm
off their "intelligence" whenever they get the chance!
Will show you my 1099's

I do make this much.  Even when married I always made more than my husband at a "real job" as he called it.  I did a little more myself this year to pay off those divorce legal bills but I did it.  On account I average 12,000 to 13,000 gross lines per month, another is 15,000 to 17,000 then I have two little accounts and one psych that I subcontract out which between them average another 8,000 lines.   The accounts that I personally type do take me about 22 to 24 hours per week and I put in 15 to 18 hours at a clinic doing EMR's as an employee.  I have a lot of write-off's and pay minimal taxes.l contributing about $700 - 850 a month to my retirement.  I have been doing these docs for 6 years.  Two are surgical oncologists and so I have a lot of consults/letters templates.   If a hernia patient came in I think I could do the consult just by looking at the chart.   I charge 11 cpl gross lines and have not raised my prices in two years but thinking about it.    I do put in 4 long days, 10 hours and then Friday is short  4 hours and Sunday is about 2.   But I have no problem showing my 1099's, it can be done you just have to find your niche.  And I know I am different than working for a national but 20 years ago I took the initiative to develop my own business, took a lot of blood, sweat and tears but the past 10 years I cannot complain.   My docs do treat me well as I have often stated.  But I just don't want anyone to think I have not paid my dues as I have and am truly honest in reporting my figures.

Yea, I can't remember the show that I used
to see him on, he would get a copy of the newspaper a day in advance so he was able to prevent tragedies.  I thought he was hot then, but in this role he played a different character and I thought he was pretty hot too.  I'm sorry that they only gave him a cameo appearance.
Good for you! Would she show up at
Some people just do not understand that every minute you are away from your desk is $ lost. I think the email idea was a good one. You did the right thing about your friend. You wouldn't have showed up at her job with your child begging for a babysitter, that would look ridiculous! Maybe she will see that in time!
Oh yes. This show is great.
I love Cesar.  He trips me out w/ all that dog stuff.  I even attempted some w/ our dog, though it didn't turn out to well, but then again Cesar was not here to show me correctly.  It is a good show.
I love that show! nm
