The 11 cpl job I have is actually a large hospital account and I am considered an employee. I receive insurance benefits also. I have been with them for 15 years and they moved us at home about 10 years ago. Since then I have done a lot of IC work on the side, all paying anywhere from 10 to 14 cpl. This account I have that pays me 14 cpl just went to 14 cpl from 13 cpl the first of this year. There are two inhouse transcriptionists and then me as an IC. They pay their inhouse hourly, which is only 9-10.00 per hour starting. They said they wanted to increase the pay because they really appreciated the work I did. You just have to have a little luck on your side, but you can find jobs like this. The 14 cpl account just sort of fell in my lap unexpectedly, so don't give up.
