Thanks for the input. I have been quoted from a local agent. I had gotten a basic quote without putting all of my contact information using one of the online insurance services. They seem pretty comparable. The thing I like about the using the local agent is I doubt she will be ringing my phone off the hook.

I think I have decided to try and go for it. I'm sure I'll be glad with this decision if I ever need it. Plus it will be nice to be able to go for a checkup, which I haven't been able to do. The tax deduction is also nice for an IC. I've read conflicting info though. I read that the health insurance deduction was 100% for an IC, but I've also heard that it was only 50%.
