Don't feel bad, I have been with a "national" since 1/06. Have no normals yet because I never get the same doctor. Spend about 1/2 my typing time on Google looking and verifying addresses for copies. Not kidding.
The account specifics are about 30 pages, have millions of corrections only to be recorrected. Even get emails - don't care about BOS want it done this way.
Really trying to stay with this "national" because of flexibility and available work - can see why - who else would continued working for them ?. Got put on a secondary account - only about 20 pages of account specifics that are completely opposite of 1st account.
Get about 4 report from 1 account, 4 from next, and the 2 programs don't coincide, so waste time going back and forth, closing out of 1 and going back into another. Word shuts down for one so you cannot even keep both open at same time. Notice 1 accout you have to type one, the other one.
My pay checks literally are not even worth working for. Have no control of how my line count is calculated, its up to the "national". Go into tools and my page count comes up, with/without/space/lines - WHATEVER, the total the tools tells me and the daily total don't even add up each report - so not only am I getting screwed by the character count, 74/65/spaces/no spaces/headers/copies My
paycheck is ALWAYS A LOT LESS THAN WHAT THEY ARE TELLING ME I'M TYPING,
I am not one to cut off my nose to spite myself - obviously - because I am glad for a job with flexibility that pays on time
- I pay over $500/month for benefits for a single mother and 2 kids.
I have been an MT since 1979 am 45, not young now but started young, 18, and have only had a problem in the past year with this occupation and my money.
I have even went so far as to test with another "national" and after going through all the testing was then told I could make so much a page - way less than I made 10 years ago for a page, and benefits would be a lot more.
JUST SHOOT ME NOW.
