Amen to that my friend. This is the only profession where you keep earning less for more experience. I earn 4 cents less now than I made 20 years ago..... and the QA people - don't get me started. I am sick to death of people telling me where to put a comma or a period or a hyphen, etc., etc., etc. !!! Sick I tell you. My company claims that what is correct is either A) what the hospital wants, B) what the Book of Style says or )3 what they want - (the QA people) any given day. I believe it's all bull s__t. I have 25+ years, owned my own company and I really resent it when people tell me to change this and change that. The killer one for me is when a number is dictated within a sentence such as "three children", they want you to type "3" children. So, what they are telling us is to throw away anything we learned over the last 60 years for the sake of them being "correct". THIS DOES NOT AFFECT PATIENT CARE by typing "three children".... Give us a break. Sorry, I had to say that.
