Was she tested for thyroid? sm

Pretty common in cats and I believe that's one of the symptoms. Good luck.

thyroid
I have had hypothyroidism for the past 10 years and trust me, take the increased dosage. I have had doctors that actually do not believe in hypothyroidism and cut the dose and then I feel horrible for the next eight weeks until it gets back to normal. The little bit extra you would get in the increase in medication is not going to hurt you any. Actually, I found Armour thyroid to be better for me than the Synthroid. Synthroid never seemed to do anything for me. It only has the T4 hormones in it and the Armour has both the T3 and T4. Some doctors say you don't need the T3, but if your body produces it, you need it. I just feel better taking it. Presently, and over the past 10 years, my dose has increased to 120 mcg. It is an autoimmune disease and your levels will never stay the same. They will always fluctuate until your thyroid stops producing the hormones altogether, which is probably where I am at now. If I don't take my meds for say two months (which I have been known to do at times), I end up getting sick with flu-like symptoms...fevers, chills, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches and pains, etc. It takes a long time to get back to normal, so take the small increase. You may have to increase it again later on. There is also a discrepancy in what some doctors actually think is *normal*, too, so be aware that perhaps you DO need more than what you think you do. Do lots of research....I did. My body tells me what I need...not the doctors...if you know what I mean...even if I have to argue with them to get what I need. I will change doctors until I find one who knows what he is doing as far as the thyroid...or go to an endocrinologist. They know more about it. good luck. e-mail me if you have questions.
thyroid
I had this when I was about 45. Couldn't get out of bed. I RARELY miss work (working at home, I work the rare times I'm ill), but I was starting to miss some work -- I couldn't keep my eyes open. It was my thyroid. Started meds, and in 2 weeks felt better.
Maybe have your thyroid checked? sm
A malfunctioning thyroid can cause those symptoms, I think. I used to work with a gal who was always freezing and slept alot and doc said her TSH was almost zip. He put her on Synthroid and she felt a lot better.
Maybe a thyroid problem?
Have you ever had your thyroid checked?  This can be a symptom.
Thyroid question, please...sm

Hi-

Question about results on TSH (me personally, not a patient!)  I've been on 1 mg of Synthroid, but just got my TSH results.  They are RIGHT on the border of the lowest acceptable range.

My doc doesn't seem to think this warrants adjustment in the dosage, but I thought it should maybe be lowered a bit?  Any advice?  BTW, this is a fairly new doc to me, and I'm not entirely sure if I totally trust him yet, if you know what I mean.

TIA!

Thyroid Problems in dogs. Yep. sm
I had one dog that was on Synthroid and a relative has one that is diabetic with cataracts, post cataract extractions.  Certain breeds are prone to diabetes as a matter of fact.  They get most of what we get, including diabetes, thyroid disorder, Crohn's disease, cancer, cardiomyopathy, seizure disorders.
I would suggest that you have your thyroid checked--sm
It is the number one cause of fatigue and most often overlooked by physicians. Have a complete TSH blood test. T3, T4, free T4, and an iodine uptake test.
I read that there is some idea it may be related to THYROID imbalance. Maybe
.
Had thyroid checked many times, totally normal. My mom
had thyroid trouble, used her hands constantly in her job and her hobby and never had problems.   Never heard this possible correlation before.
I read it a couple of yrs ago. Also, re thyroid testing------there are important

You can have NORMAL thyroid test results........fine and good.  That only shows, however, that your thyroid is functioning.

It does not show you are utilizing the thyroid properly, though.

By that I mean are you absorbing the thyroid correctly.

That testing is more complex and time consuming.

My friend who has MS had quite a time getting her doc to do the testing correctly.  As you know, MS makes you super fatigued anyway - and whe the thyroid aspect is off kilter, you are wiped out.  Her testing was kind of like a blood glucose testing over several hours.  She went in for testing every 30 minutes or so and sat at the lab for the whole time.

So, that may be something the article was alluding to as far as thyroid malfunctioning.  You may be MAKING thyroid fine but not absorbing it.

Might also be your thyroid or Lyme disease. Insist on blood work! nm

Has anyone ever tested for or

Just wondering because I believe that my skills and equipment meet their requirements, but never heard back after sending my resume.

I know that the MTSOs are often bombarded with resumes, but it would've been nice to be able to test for them.

tested it
I tested your theory and that isn't the problem. I just wonder if I hit an "F" key or what is causing it. It does it about every 10 seconds! Thanks for the thought though!
Have you tested lately? I never
dreamed how indepth this has gotten. Why are we expected to know as much as a doctor or nurse? It is not like you can take it on yourself to change anything. The very most you can do is flag it. I miss the days when I could just track one of these guys down and ask them. Now, assuming you are inhouse, it is like you are not allowed to do more than nod hello.
I tested too
I tested three weeks ago and have heard nothing.
I'm tested to death, too
If you create a folder on your desktop called "Sound Files" - then when you are downloading an mp3 file or whatever - right click and do "save to target" - then browse your desktop until you see sound files folder and make sure that is in the box. Then, the files will download to that folder. Then, when you double click on Express Scribe, up on the top you will see "Load" - click on this and then browse for your sound files folder. Highlight those you want to download into express scribe and then down at the bottom, hit ok or load (can't remember which it is). They will then be loaded into express scribe, ready to go.
My child has been tested....sm
By 3 different psychiatrists and psychologists who are children specialists. She does well without medication when she has tasks broken down into small increments and with redirection when she gets off track. I'm not going to medicate her with anything when she is fine when given these helpful guidelines, and her doctors are conservative enough to agree with me and don't hand out pills quickly. If she displayed ADD/ADHD symptoms to the severity that she couldn't function in life without parameters that work it would be a different story.

She is physically active with playing sports (i.e. soccer and basketball depending on the season or doing dance when it's off season for both) and we take her to the playground often. As far as diet goes, we limit her sugar intake as she is more hyper when she is exposed to sugars and even she recognizes that if she has a lot of sugar she gets more hyper.

Too bad the QA's are tested before they're -

My editors ARE TESTED
The editors for my company are tested and they are trained at 100% before they are turned "LOOSE".  They also have 3% of their work audited.
I'm gonna say no. I tested by...
running adaware, superantispyware and spybot, cleaned everything out and then came only on this site. Clicked around for a while, posted a couple times and ran my scans again. Nothing came up, so I'm going to say no I guess. I always have Spyware of some sort when I run my scans, but I visit so many sites a day I have no idea where they come from.
I just don't understand it. I tested

the machine from 3 different phones and didn't have a problem. Once I punched the ID# in, the beeping stopped for me. I'm very confused as to why my doc had problems.

I had the older model with the tapes and it worked great until the transfer box died. I couldn't find just the box, since this machine is no longer made.

I think my doc is a thing of the past. I haven't heard from him since the test. What kills me is that I was with him for 14 years. I don't know this for sure but he has not called me or dropped off any tapes. He passes my house on his way home so he used to drop the tapes off when there was a problem.. His dictation is due today and I don't have any to do.

you are correct, i only tested on 4..nm

I don't know anything about transolutions, interviewed, tested, and
offered position with Cymed.  The pay is average, lots of ESL, offered 0.5 cpl more if I do more than 1800 lines a day, which I do occasionally, but not often enough that I would have a bunch of extra $$ each pay period.   The person I interviewed with was an HR person and hadn't the first clue about transcription, so her answers weren't very good to questions.  I did specifically ask if the offshore and she reluctantly said they do.  I know they offshore to the Phillipines and probably India, and they are support of the move to offshore to Trinidad.   I was offered 8 cpl and have 20 years' acute care experience.  I was told there were lots or opportunities to earn big $$ in bonus money, but I'm not looking to be chained to my chair another 4 hours a day.   My main decision for declining the position was the offshoring.
I recently tested for Mxsecure
I had to do 5 dictations. They were the toughest I have ever done.
Question for txmt. I have tested
for Transtech Medical.  They sound like a great place to work IMO.  Do you mind if I ask you several questions about them, such as what platform they work on (I am going to use their computer), what the sound quality is like, how is the pay, etc?  TIA.  If you would like, I can leave my email for you:)  Thanks!!
Have you tested at all? With your experience, I would think MTSO would at least look...
could be you are not scoring well on tests, or there might be some hesitation with thinking you will send the stuff on to Canada and then outsource it (believe it or not). But your experience sounds great and there should be no reason to take a refresher. IMHO
I meant to say 'AREN'T tested' ! - nm

I tested the beta version
I enjoy using the software. I work in InScribe over half the day and have tons of shortcuts in there. Until now, I could not use those shortcuts in other programs. I imported the InScribe shortcut file to Ditto and now I use those shortcuts in WordPerfect and Word. The shortcuts work in e-mail, also. The pop-ups are not annoying - they go away after a few seconds if you do not respond to them. You can do functions with it, also. I have not tried whole blocks of text. For me, it's worth the price. I think you can download and try it before purchase.
Thanks. I have already sent out like 11 resumes and tested with three of the places. I have only he
the woman told me she had just hired and to check back in 6 months.  I have also e-mailed five other companies to see if they were hiring.  I assume since I have heard nothing back from them they are not.  Thankfully the one I heard from was not a defnite no but I can't wait 6 months for a job either.  With times as they are I could use some extra income right now.  I guess I will keep looking and hope someone calls me soon.
I tested for a National and also failed. sm
I thought I did well. I transcribed according to the BOS book, but most of my errors were charged because of it. It looks like if I didn't use the BOS book method, I probably would have passed. Who knows? Just don't give up. I took a test with another company and am now working.
I was tested for Lyme disease when I first started with everything..thanks anyway. :( nm

to VE - NINE HOSPITALS have never drug tested you - they must be out in left field!
I'm typing this fast - so forgive ME for the typos!!

I just left a hospital in Ohio that not only had you do a drug screen, BUT A BREATHALYZER TEST before hiring. They did one ON EVERYONE!!! Yes, they have had people fail the breathalyzer!

I worked in a small ridiculously podunk town hospital in Illinois that insisted I have a drug test before working there.

I have been in major medical centers where it was insisted I have a background check, drug screen, and physical.

I have had background checks done on me for quite a few more hospitals. I have worked at home and had a background check on me, because after all I do have the company's computer and equipment and I did have access to SSN#, and yes, for your information, there was a Transcriptionist that I KNOW OF arrested two years ago for identity theft and she did obtain the information from medical records. I know transcriptionists that never give equipment back to the companies and resell them - guess what - they have gotten arrested. Had the companies run a background check they would never have hired the transcriptionists.

I have worked at catholic hospitals AND THEY EVEN GIVE THE NUNS A DRUG TEST!

Why OH why do people feel that this is a violation of THEIR rights. I would hope to God that if you were ever in a hospital that your identity information stays guarded, no matter where it is outsourced to.
Well, it seems the norm to me! I've tested with at least 4 co's in the past few years and

the tests were not dictations that I do on an everyday basis.  I know they pick and choose carefully what they will test you on because there are always kinks in there where the doc either stumbles, mumbles, or you know you would have to be a genius to figure out what they are saying.

Someone posted about a new anti-spyware program they had tested against several others - sm
and found it was better (or found more problems) than their existing programs.  My computer has been a bit weird/very slow the last day or two, ran my SpySweeper (no problems) but I thought I would try this other one.  However I cannot find the post.  Can you either post it again or email me?  Thanks.
I agree with two of these. Worked forone and tested forand

another.  Got burned on one of them and it was my first national.  I then got into another you did not mention JLG.  I wouldn't go there either.

Been with my company now for five years and outside of no benefits and being an IC it was okay till recently when things started to change.  Not happy at this time and hoping things get back to normal for me.  I am hurting because I had a huge problem with Comcast cable internet and I lost a lot of work time.  Poor paycheck this time too.  Had them out three times and they finally fixed it so far.

Good luck to everyone looking.  I feel badly for the MQ transcriptionists.  It will be hard to find any place with all the competition.

I tested at a local hospital on the East Coast...
The pay was $14.82 per hour to start. They were paying medical unit secretaries $14.60. Also the job was per diem, needless to say I didn't take it.
Mine was tested at 148 in school. After they found out & leaked it -- (s/m)
-- to my parents, it kinda messed up my life. Was yanked out of classes with all my friends, where I was comfortable, and put into "Gifted" classes with a bunch of older kids I didn't know, & who resented my being there. Unfortunately, high IQ doesn't necessarily mean "mature"! I was kind of a nervous, skittish kid, and even if I could already read by the time I got to school, there were other simple things I hadn't yet mastered. I went from loving school to detesting it, and spent too much time drawing & daydreaming in class. So, when I struggled in those areas I was weak at, I got labelled as an "under-achiever", which didn't exactly thrill my parents. That label, combined with my dislike of these new classes (and this was back in the 50s and 60s, when they didn't know how to teach, anyway!) I started living up to that new label. Soon I was at the other end of the scale, getting shuttled into lots and lots of study halls because I was failing as many as 3 classes per semester in highschool. I graduated by the skin of my teeth, with no goals whatsoever. My parents just assumed I would somehow go to a 4-year college. And I just assumed I wouldn't! Fortunately my strong points were English and typing, so at least I was employable. But I didn't really have the social skills needed for most secretarial and receptionist jobs, and didn't have the degrees necessary to get any better jobs. After bouncing from job to job (some lasting only 2 months, some as little as 2 days), I finally just happened to STUMBLE ONTO medical transcription. It was a good fit, but even though I've now been doing it for a long, long time, to this day my friends and family wonder when I'm going to get a "real" job. I just smile and tell them that will most likely be when hell freezes over.
I've also tested at a hospital. I only had to type one report and
the rest was the interview and a small written test on abbreviations and proofreading test for correct punctuation etc. I certainly was not asked to come in and sit and do 6 reports. Overkill in my opinion and totally turned me off to this company.
Anytime I've tested, it's always been the same test on mttest.com, or careerstep. See if you c

They were going pay me an hourly rate, training pay. It doesn't matter, I just tested for two ot
and I did pretty well.  I should get a couple of offers in the next couple of days, hopefully -- I don't want to be overly confident because if I learned anything out of all this it is don't count your chickens before they hatch and don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Has anyone here tested with companies and had trouble with the transcription part with the foot

pedal not stopping the voice.  Am I doing something wrong.  I am using the foot pedal that I used for DQS and the voice just keeps going and going and I have to keep going back over the stuff and over it by mousing back and forth.

I tested this morning, left blanks, and I have 17 years' experience. (sm)

I have no problem leaving blanks.  It is not my job to suffer over poor dictation.  It is my job to transcribe what is hearable.  I will not compromise my sanity anymore over these lazy-butt doctors who think their time is so important that they rush through their dictation time.  I will do the best I can, but I will not fret over blanks, and neither should anyone else.

What I WILL do is relisten at the end of the report.  Sometimes I pick up on their *style* and can fill in some of the blanks.  A relisten is all anyone should expect from us.  My time is important, too.

When I worked for a vet. guy had dog allergy tested and dog was allergic to human dander. No kidding
