again in a week, and if still not passed, put on 100% QA for a time. If you can't get it back up to what it needs to be then you are let go.

Put them on probation and tell them to clean up their act or they
are gone. Too many MTs are looking for work right now to put up with people who don't/won't do their job.
Having the assault taken off his record was a condition of his probation. SM

So, I'm not sure if at the end of his probation if he had to contact anyone or follow it up in anyway.  We know it's not on there anymore because he's going to nursing school now and had to get his CNA license as a prerequisite for the prgram and they did a background check for that.

I'll ask him.  He's not here now.  While I'm working, he and my son are at the boat show figuring out how to spend my paycheck!

Was audited re IC/SE/employee
There was one year when the IRS decided to select a certain number of returns where SE was claimed (this was just after they created SE and were testing to see if people followed it correctly). That year I was an IC, an SE and an employee. They did not question the IC or employee status, just the SE status. Since that company had a lawyer as its CEO, they had a very legal contract that I had signed at the beginning. All I had to do was fax that to the IRS and the case was closed. I have had no further audits since then.

In your case, I do hope you have a contract with the company that defines your relationship with them. It sounds like they are after the company, but after your discussion with them if they decide it was an employee relationship, they will probably audit all your returns in years you worked for that company. Yes, you would probably get a refund but it takes a long time to get it settled.

It is a good sign that the IRS already has a phone meeting with you about the situation. You probably won't get someone who doesn't understand the regulations, at least!

Let us know how it turns out and good luck!
That is so true. When QA is audited,
it will eventually show up some of the things they put in or change that is totally wrong.
Yep, my sis was just audited last month for 2003.
,
Nope! Hope you don't get audited sm
If you have your premiums deducted from BEFORE tax dollars you can't deduct a dime on taxes as an employee. My accountant says my IC pay my own insurance I can deduct 15% in MY situation.
