If you've been doing it for 14 years, I would think you have learned plenty of tricks by now!
The only thing I can tell you is, when I get tired of typing a particular phrase and it is usually exactly the same all the time, that's when I do a new AutoCorrect entry.
I have templates for one account, but I'm a stickler about transcribing verbatim (whether the company is or not) so although the templates are helpful, I still have to make changes, even on normal reports. There are lots of times I just say the heck with it and type it using my own shortcuts. It's faster.
