I have two accounts that will absoloutely have no one else do the work unless I am in CCU and then perhaps. Since I don't have a family or spouse, I take 2 or 4 days with a weekend -- I try for 3 times a year and since I do tapes, I have someone pick up the tapes the Friday before I return or the day I return if a Tuesday/Wed and start working then. I do give them the choice of having someone come in and subcontract for me as I have several friends that I trust but these two accounts want to hold the tapes for me. I do not discount the work that is coming back and try to do 1 1/2 days per day to make up and usually have it caught up in a week. After all do they give us 1.5 times our cpl the week before they are out of the office to make up for that short paycheck -- no they don't. Also I don't mind them holding the tapes as it means I still get a full paycheck. But talk to him and see what they want to do. Just remember if someone subs for you they will usually want the favor returned and make sure you have the time to do that also plus your own accounts.
