What is up with acne all over again?!?!

I have read that hormone changes are to blame, but I am going nuts. It's usually a pimple or two around my period, but since I've hit my 30's, seems I'm in Blackhead City! What can I do?

If your son's acne is not very bad and not cystic, you aren't dealing with severe acne, right?
There is a big difference. I have very oily skin that is acne prone, even now in my 40s, but my older sister's condition is much more severe, with cystic acne even on her back, like a male, and the one time I tried to tell her what was helping my skin, she let me know that what might help me was not going to be strong enough to help her. She's tried it all.
Acne again
Since I hit my 30s, my face broke out all the time. I tried that new Neutrogena Advanced Solution Acne kit. I LOVE IT! I still get those nagging pms pimples, but they are not as bad as they were a year ago. I also use Bare Minerals makeup because I believe that makeup is good for your skin. Good Luck!! I hope this helps.
Obviously, you have never had pustular acne nm

I have a teen son with acne, not bad and

not cystic.  We've been to the dermatologist twice without success.  He now uses a generic (Wal-Mart) version of Proactiv and it isn't 100%, but lots better.  Accutane can cause you to be suicidal and to me the risks just are too great versus any possible benefit.

The blackheads can be handled with good hand washing, keep his hands off his face, washing his hair daily if it is oily like my son's, and washing his wash a couple of times a day.  The white heads could be handled with a soft puffing, like those disposable pads that are on the market.   There are antibiotics that might be helpful.  There are lots of OTC products that might be a little pricey, but I would exhaust every possible option before trying Accutane.   We have a local oral/maxillofacial surgeon that has a clinician in his office to help with skin problems and they sell products that are not prescription.  I can't remember the name, but do a goggle search for acne products.

Possible Option for Acne
I always see the commercial for Proactiv solution on television, maybe you may want to give that a try. The commercial was originally hosted by Vanessa Williams.

Acne - I know this thread is old, but
I found article on a dermatology site I was looking at. It's on a product that I think has been around for several years, was it Differin? Something like that. This study finds that those who use it in combination with any other acne treatment get better results (don't have my drug book with me to check the spelling).

pocking from pustular acne

I got a face full of acne from their products....
along time ago. I can no longer use Marykay facial products. I also get cold sores from "all" lipsticks. I only know of one other person like this and she is a cousin of mine.
Any info about Murad products for acne? nm
