None of them amount to a hill of beans any more.

For me, it was a matter of "professional pride", BUT I spent years and years scrounging up CE credits for the three-year cycles, and never earned a penny more. A good number of faster (and better) MTs than I who had no CMT credential earned considerably more money than I did.
