Oh, it was the worst I have ever had in my life.  While that sounds like a boring superlative, I say to you in all honesty:  It   was    the   worst   chest   cold   I   have   ever   had   in   my    whole   life!

What helped me most was Vicks Vaporub, and lots of it.  Also ginger ale mixed with orange juice.  Keep hydrated.  The sinuses would not stop draining but I needed the hydration to bring up what had settled into my chest.  (You can't be dehydrated or it settles in much worse.)  Also, Mucinex helped 50-50, and it is nondrowsy.  One more thing, as the drainage progressed (x 2 weeks) and the coughing became nearly incessant,  the back of my throat started to hurt, so try Chloraseptic, which was very beneficial.

One more thing:  sleep, sleep, sleep, if you are at all able!  Take your vitamins (C, E, B-complex, ginseng, and whatever else you may be partial to).  For those who say, Well it didn't stop you from getting sick, did it?  Tell them that you could have been sent to the HOSPITAL if it were not for the vitamins.   Good luck to you and I certainly hope you feel better, fast!
