 Before I retired, AAMT (as it still was called a few years ago) was being abandoned by CMTs like rats leaving a sinking ship, which it had become.  They just let their certification go.  At least I was able to bow out gracefully, since upon retirement, you also have to retire your CMT--only an active practitioner could hold one.
 
 Credentials, schmedentials!  Just test and show 'em what you're perfectly well able to do.  :D
