You are right on the RAM issue.  Go to www.crucial.com.  There you will be able to enter your brand, model, etc. of your computer.  It will give you the type, maximum installable RAM, and number of slots for RAM.  If I were you, I would pop the side off of the computer and take a quick look yourself to make sure there is an available slot(s).  At the point where it gives you all of the specifics, you will also see the option to by the RAM from Crucial.  They have a good price on RAM, so if you could order it right from them if you wanted. 


As far as the multiple windows, I would absolutely recommend a second monitor.  It is as easy as plugging in another video card to the computer (maybe popping in a driver disk when asked) and plugging the second monitor in.  Check out
