I called my accountant on this one, and he said even though you are an employee, you are entitled to some deductions because you are working from a home office. Those deductions are different than the deductions taken from your paycheck - they are done when you itemize your income tax return. I told him I was switching from statutory to at home employee status, and he said not much will change in terms of the deductions I will take - they will be very similar if not exactly the same as being a SE - because, we were NOT independent contractors. We were employees of MQ, just employed as statutory status. Talk to a good accountant - you will be able to claim the same deductions on your income tax as you did as a SE.
