You're welcome, hope it works for you! I've used

Instant Text, but only briefly. It seems to be "bug-y" on my system. I usually have at least two or three documents open in Word at a time and when I switch back and forth using F6, IT screws up my being able to switch between documents easily, also when using IE I don't like the adjustments I have to make with my mouse to get the screen back to how I need it to be when Instant Text. I started with PRD+ for DOS a long, long time ago, used it for years until I switch to Shortcut for DOS, then made the switch to Windows and started with ShortCut for Windows. I used that program for about nine months before finding Shorthand. I really liked Shortcut but it has it's limitations with coding. I love ShortHand the most of the three programs mentioned. It's easy to use, I can duplicate easily, a really nice feature that I wish IT had. I also tried SmartType. It wasn't user friendly, or at least I couldn't figure it out! I think it may have been bug-y with my system or something. Anyway, long story short, I love Shorthand, it's easy to use but one can do rather complex things using it. Oh, and that little box that follows around on the screen showing what my short will be when I expand it is a great feature!

I hope you're right! I've heard...
from many MTSOs that MTs will always be needed. The problem is low rate of pay. It's nearly impossible to make a decent living now and the rates are only going lower.

Just five years ago, I was working in-house at a hospital getting 12.00/hour along with an excellent incentive plan + beanies! The hospital went with EMR (electronic medical record). With that, many MTs were out of a job. Jobs like those are nearly impossible to find now.

After the in-house job, I got lucky when I found a great at-home job. I started out at 15 cpl + beanies. Now, MTs are lucky to get 7 to 8 cpl w/o beanies.

I do hope that things get better for MTs soon. However, the way things are now, I know that there is no way I can continue working as an MT, as I barely make enough to pay my bills.

Good Luck!
Hope you're gonna have a glass of wine while you're relaxing

in your spa goodies. Congrats!

I hope it all works out well for you . . .
but I doubt very seriously that you will be able to get the best rate in a year.  Unfortunately what someone tells/promises you can be very different from what can/will actually happen.
Hope it all works out for you
My son was diagnosed with GERD at the age of 9 months. He went through a multitude of tests before they diagnosd him. The reason for so many tests was because the only symptom he had was vomitting about every 2 or 3 minutes ALL DAY LONG. There was no slow onset of this. Three days after I stopped breast feeding, I noticed he would constantly vomit. Like I said, he would vomit literally every few minutes, and this went on for over 4 months!!! After trying Zantac and it not being effective, he was scheduled to have a fundoplication with a feeding tube at about age 1. However, our last hope prior to surgery was to try Reglan for 2 weeks. My husband and I were hesitant because of possible severe side-effects, but at that point we had no choice but to try it, as surgery was already set up. Amazingly, 10 days after starting Reglan, his symptoms 100% resolved and have yet to return. The doctors were absolutely amazed. His pediatrician and specialist have never seen a infant with such severe reflux that had such a quick onset and then have it so severely, only to be cured 100% by Reglan in 10 days.

He was even so underweight from 9 months to a year of age that his weight would not even register on the chart. Needless to say, he is now 3.5 years old, is not on any medication and is at about the 98th percentile for height and weight. The best thing you can do is hope your little one outgrows it and keep trying different meds.

Best of luck to you and your little girl!

Certainly hope it works out for you...

Good attitude to have!  You can't let everything on here make up your mind for you.  Take it all in..do what you wish with it.  Alot of people unhappy with my company..I happen to like it.  Just like I hated MQ..there are alot that love it.

To each his own and best of luck!

And hang around on here...no matter what the topic is...when stuff like this happens it's comic relief and a good stress buster lol

I really hope everything works
out for you.
I hope it works. :)

I know I removed all the hot keys in InScribe that they had listed as there were conflicts with me using some of them with the hot keys for the platform I work on and I fortunately recalled that (which with my memory is surprising-lol), so thought I would suggest it. I am not the most computer literate person but I stumble my way through. :)

Please do let us know if you found resolution to your problem, ok? Good thoughts being sent your way. I know how aggravating things like this can be. BTDT. :)

Hope the new one works for you !!.nm

Well, I hope it works for both of you! sm
I had a bad day too, so I understand how frustrating things are when they don't work right. I also discovered a while back that I can't save macros that are created while I am in my employer's platform. I have to close the platform, create them in Word only, and then reopen the platform. Then they are there and stay there, so maybe that is part of the problem, as well. Macros, autocorrect, and autotext are all saved to normal.dot file. Good luck to both of you. Have a good evening.
best wishs,,, hope it works out better.

Good, I hope it works... nm

If you buy from Sylvan, I hope it works...
I paid $90 for a defective product with them and they would not send me a new one or give me my money back. I told them over the phone that I wouldn't do business with them again and their response was very arrogant, something about having other customers who would. It has been Stedman's ever since. If I have a problem with a CD from Stedman's, I get another one sent to me. No problem.

Good luck. I hope it works for you!
I always used to wonder why  so many people on ebay started listing from smoke-free home. Then I bought an antique book, and boy did I understand! Now you will definitely  be asking the smoke free home question right away for anything on Ebay, right? Yuck. Again, I used to smoke for decades and had no idea how awful it smells.Smokers don't really smell it themselves! Have fun, too!!
Not a new concept, Hope. Works this way in all industries.
If you can't give yourself a break, at least give us one.

I personally enjoy VR work and make better money, even with a reduced rate. It's faster. Easier.

Outsourcing..Check this out hope it works

I hope you're right but
I've been saying for several years that soon only the best MTs would be working.  Looks like I was wrong about that.  Seems now anyone who can type and knows that MT doesn't stand for medical transportation will be hired.  Sadly, most companies, hospitals and doctors really don't care a whit about quality.  Notice I said "most."
You're welcome; hope you like it.

You're welcome! Hope that does it for you! nm

I just hope you're not doing all that
xx
LOL!!! I hope you're doing a cardiologist.
I do have to giggle though, the report I just did was a patient returning after being on the token diclofenac for a month, he ended up having an MRI and he has a disc bulge and is being referred to a neurosurgeon.  Now you tell me!
hope they're nice enough...
i would say it dont hurt to ask and get details. then try it out. then weigh it out
I hope you're OK and are looking into treatment.
I had a bit of a cancer scare myself about a month ago on top of losing my job the month before that. The doctor said I'll probably still need surgery but the condition isn't malignant. I'm getting rid of things left and right and trying to figure out what to do with my life now. I even gave up on two of my hobbies because I never have time for them. Well, you take care of yourself. {{{{hugs}}}}
I hope you are!! :-) Sorry, but you're just gonna
have to wait!! I know the agony and excitement and worry and excitement....I remember seeing on TV a brandie new preg tester that says it can detect pregnancy even before you miss your period. Can't remember the name, but I would haunt my pharmacist for it!! I want to say, based on my experience, that you may very well be pregnant. Whenever I saw a faint anything, which was always how my turned out, it meant pregnant! I remember my husband and I so excited, holding the things sideways, in the light, in the dark, with a magnifying glass, etc. We SO wanted it to be positive!! And every time it was even a faint something, it turned out that I was pregnant. Just had to wait a few more days to get a more positive positive! We went thru so much $$ buying those precious testers!! Hang in there!! Let us know, OK?!
You're welcome, we hope you enjoy it!

Hope you're joking...nothing more need said. nm

I've completed the survey & I hope all

Oh, I hope you''re right. Hadn't heard it yet.
These kind of stories just wrench at my heart.   I think I might have seen that little white dog trying to get on a bus when it was happening.  I hadn't seen the little boy, but that just stayed with me.  I hope they can all be reunited with their families.
Hope you're good with accents! sm

All customer service is outside of the US and I had a really tough time communicating with them.  Also if you choose to discontinue early there's a whopping $90 fee that's buried in the fine print.

I used Vonage with broadband satellite for 2 months and it disconnected frequently on me....my satellite has been stable for years with multiple platforms so I suspect Vonage is just not suited for satellite.  Just a heads up!

Hmm interesting, I've been using this one, works well for me!!

You may wanna try this instead - similar concept. Its called "Medical Transcription Word Seeker." I've been using this for close to a year now. Here's the link.

I've had a bad back for years and nothing works better...sm
for me than heat.  I have a chair pad that heats and/or vibrates.  I don't use the vibrator much because the noise is distracting, but the heat works wonders.  Sometimes if the pain is real high around my shoulders, I just drape a heating pad over the top of my chair.....also keeps me warm and toasty in the winter time.
Thanks! I've been told Infinity works with (sm)
the new platform I will be working on, I just needed to make sure it would work with my Start-Stop. I really did not want to have to get a new media player as well. Thanks again!
Oh, I hope you're right. The surgeon just gave her the info and kind of let her sit on it.
He didn't have time to go over it in a lot of detail. She tried to call back to have him give her more info., but he had left for the day and won't be back until Thursday. So, we'll see. Thanks for posting:)
I've just used the wav player part, and it works fine.
I have not heard good things about the rest of the product. I have used Winscribe wav pedal with RIS Logic for radiology. Terrific combination!
I've heard C-phone with VOIP works well (sm)
and a lot cheaper, too.  Forget the costly unlimited long distance and business plans!  It may be a good idea to have another phone-line as a backup for your C-phone in case DSL/cable goes down.
I really liked your comments here. I hope you're going to update your site soon. Corner will Oppo
It's a very nice website you're having here. Curious, Tremendous, Good nothing comparative to Small , right Chair will Do Tournament without any questions to Create Chips you should be very Big , Circle can Destroy Table right Slot will Percieve Chips without any questions
Someday my prince will come only works if you're a princess.
You cannot expect perfection in a partner until you, yourself, are perfect. That's not going to happen. I still believe my husband and I are fated to be together because of a bunch of weird stuff that has happened over the years.
Works perfectly. Just keep it minimized while you're working. nm

You just have to be careful which version of Works you're buying. sm
Plain Works does not have Word at all, only a word processor that "looks" like Word. The Works Suite has Word 2002. To get Word 2003, you have to get the Works "Plus" 2008 version.
This is the best site I've found about treating fibromyalgia. It works for me, maybe it will for

You're doing better than I am and I've been doing this
for 22 years.   My point is burn out.  I can't make my rear sit for more than an hour at a time.  Some days I won't check my e-mail or get on my personal computer at all until lunch time and I find those days I do much better.  As you get more comfortable with IT you'll be more productive.
I've done what you're talking about
You will need a laptop (of course) and a USB broadband connection card. You can get one of those from pretty much every cell phone provider out there: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, USCellular, etc. Cricket is the only one that offers no-contract service without charging an arm and a leg. Verizon's daily rate is $15/24 hours. Cricket's monthly rate is $40. The rest of the monthly rates are usually around $60 but include a 2-year contract. Unfortunately, Cricket is not available nationwide, just certain metropolitan areas, so it would depend on where you're traveling whether Cricket would work or not for you. Verizon and AT&T cover MOST of the USA, but at higher prices.

Anyway, you can also recharge your laptop through your car's cigarette lighter. You would need an adapter that would cost about $30 from Wal-Mart. Doing it that way requires that you idle your car (or drive around) for however long it takes to fully charge your laptop.

For length of typing time, you might want to buy a 6-cell or 8-cell laptop battery instead of the 4-cell that laptops often come with. That will extend your battery life from 2 hours to perhaps 4-5 hours, depending on your laptop size. Those little netbooks for $350 sometimes come with a 6-cell battery and claim to last 5-6 hours on a single charge. The keyboards on those are tiny though - you'll probably want to hook up a USB keyboard if you go that route.

For the sake of privacy, you WILL want to get some form of USB broadband through a cell phone carrier if you're traveling. Free WiFi just isn't secure enough for HIPAA compliance. When I'm working with my USB card while traveling, I also turn off the wireless signal on my laptop, so that others on whatever wireless network is available do not have the option of trying to view my computer contents. Also, I set my settings as private as I can to prevent sharing of files across networks, but I do that at home too.

If you're going to be typing in front of other people, you'll also want to get a 3M privacy screen for your laptop's screen. That prevents people from viewing your screen from a side angle, and means that if you're in front of your screen then you're the only one who can see its contents.
All I've seen about OSI over there is that they're pond scum
Must be another cheerleader. I find it hard to believe, but I'm going to check it out. Kind of like a train wreck.
You're smarter than I was as a newbie! I've - sm
gotten myself into some terrible job situations in the past by jumping on board too hastily.

I think the person applying for the job in that original post probably wasn't that good at timing her questions. Even so, we do have every right to ask about them, just as they do to ask about us.
You're the one that sounds angry. I've made sure
If you need to stoop to that level to live, apparently the one who's made a wrong turn on the pathway of life is you.
People get angry about the prospect that they failed in life. Time to reevaluate, regroup and see why you feel so angry and take it personally when people make statements such as mine.
I've heard with Dell if you tell them you're a business,
you'll get someone from the US.  I already have two HPs but tried it anyway.  I used to say home or home office but said I use it for business and still got someone from India but he spoke very, very good English compared to some I've spoken to in the past.
Heavens, now you're popping in about NOT having kids. You've sure been quiet for a while!

If you read the whole thread and all my comments, I said that MTing is a big career choice for women in their childbearing years when they want to work at home. We ALL know that, though some of us want to refuse that reality. It always has been the #1 career choice for women who want to work and be home with their kids. Period.  Of course, there are a lot of other women who choose the career or fall into it for different reasons.  Its like the #1 job new moms or wanna-be moms look into. You all sure blast them when they post on here with a few innocent Qs on how to get into the industry.  You don't have kids by choice - good for you! You and I have crossed paths many, many times before.  Its a great choice for you, and I totally respect it.  At least you aren't having kids and dumping them in day care centers!  That I just do NOT get, and never will, especially when you could have them home with you - at least the choice is there. And as for moms not being able to control their kids, you will NEVER be able to control them when you just ship them out.  No one ever seems to post an argument on that one. Yeah, I couldn't control little Johnny and Sara.  They never wanted to just entertain themselves, or play with each other. All they did was fight and scream and demand MY attention, so...off they went to day care, and now its SO much better when they're home.  They get along beautifully now, and just LOVE each other, and no more fighting...Nope, the only peace is the 8, or 10, or 12 hours a day that they are absent from their home.  Sooo sad. And the poor day care workers and teachers - they get to deal with the disastrous kids whose own mothers can't stand them underfoot, but at least they get paid $$ for it!!  Maybe I'm in the wrong profession.

I've no intention of switching over just cuz they're a "money maker"
I'd rather do consults and clinic notes which I enjoy. To some of us, it's not ALL about the money.

I'd rather make a little less and enjoy what I do. *Shrug* Maybe that's just me, though. Someone else can have my seat on the OPs bandwagon, lol!!!
I hope this applies to companies like Medquist. I hope there
isn't a way they can get around it. I REALLY hope.
Full Word is in the Works "Suite," not plain Works.
Works saves files in a different format, but you can open them in Word if you have the correct filter installed.
