....make a decent living on 6 cpl. IMO, that line rate is ridiculous. It's a catch 22. New MTs are desperate to get their foot in the door, so they take whatever is offered to them. MTSOs see how little they can charge, so they have no reason to pay a decent rate OR give raises based on experience or seniority. Just fire or push out the more experienced and hire more newbies for peanuts. I don't know what to tell you. If you're good at what you do, you'll get faster the longer you work, yes. However, even at 200 lph, you're only going to be making $12 an hour at 6 cpl. AND, if you're company goes VR, your line rate will eventually be slashed down to a whopping 3 cpl....you do the math. If you have mouths to feed and bills to pay with that 6 cpl, it's going to be near impossible.
